      A richtig B flsch you value humans and animals equally? Personally I find that absurd. We survive off of living organisms. If you can't tolerate that you can't live as a human being. Just as a lion will eat a lamb so will a human eat a cow. And the same way a rabbit eats grass and then is eaten by a fox. This is how nature works it may not be pretty but the world is far far far from perfect but such is life. Humans can choose to eat plant based but what does that do? It doesn't save any animals and most certainly isn't better then eating plants (from a morally objective standpoint since plants are living beings the same as animals) I understand if you're more concerned with the mistreatment of animals on farms today. But again what will doing vegan do for you then? I find it much more logical to go vegan from a health perspective as that can be actually beneficial

    • @justinliberman3970
      @justinliberman3970 7 років тому +65

      It has nothing to do with being too emotional. Richard is just bad at his craft. His whole goal is to promote a vegan lifestyle for weightlifting and he can't even back that up. The guy's been training for what, 7 years now? And he just recently failed a 405 deadlift attempt. Seriously? His videos have decent information sometimes but he sprinkles way too much bullshit about hating the rest of society in there.
      Now let's look at Clarence. He's quiet, humble, doesn't hate on others, and he's amazing at his work (strength training). I see more positive comments about Clarence's videos on veganism than I do for Richard's, and Clarence doesn't even advertise his channel as vegan fitness. He's going to get more people into veganism than Richard will. And given that that's Richard's goal, he should take notes from Clarence's approach.

    • @theteenbodybuilders
      @theteenbodybuilders 7 років тому +25

      Justin Liberman Lol, you're the type of person who equates size with knowledge. Richard isn't a bodybuilder or a power lifter he's a fitness enthusiast and EVERY statement he makes on nutrition/training is backed with science. I would urge you to look at his subs/likes on his videos obviously he's doing something positive. He in fact turned me vegan 2 years ago by presenting the facts and slapping you with the truth.

      I'm glad Richard's approach worked for you then, honestly. I just think Clarence's will work better in the long run if he continues to promote veganism the way he's been doing now.

    Thanks for this video. I am trying to fully transition to a vegan/plant-based diet and it always helps to see examples of what other people eat (when you don't grow up on a vegan diet, the only meals you know are based around animal products).
    The meal with beans and pasta with all those flavorings looked good. I'll definitely be giving that a try soon.

    Great post, vegetarian athletes completing the feats you are doing are extremely rare in comparison to meat eating counterparts. I do have a few counterpoints to share. Firstly, in vegetarians, creatine monohydrate may provide some benefit more so than in meat eaters because vegetarians usually have lower levels of circulating creatine monohydrate from not consuming animal products (creatine is found mainly in meat). Anyhow, it doesn't mean everyone will benefit but some vegetarians may find benefit especially with lifting where the immediate energy system uses creatine monohydrate for ATP resynthesis. Otherwise, another thing to look out for is fiber's effect on protein availability from vegetarian protein sources. Protein absorption from meat is almost 100% (digestibility), where as from grains and beans the actual absorption of protein can be effected due to fiber and food complexity (which lower the actual amount of protein one may get from a vegetarian source). Protein shakes and powders/liquids have higher digestibility but whole foods may pose this issue. It probably isn't too big of a deal unless someone is on the lower end of protein requirements. This is an excellent video! Thank you for sharing!
