Wow Courtney I didn’t expect to see my custom grill on your channel. Thanks. It’s actually easy to do (no laser or plasma cutter used) just found a picture I liked and used contact cement to place it on the metal. I used a center punch to transfer the design and with a drill press drilled the center punch marks. Using a carbide bit and a dremel connected the drilled holes. If, your viewers would like me to make a video just like this comment. Thanks again Randy
@@R.L.woodbaron look at ua-cam.com/video/pvtfUPt3Ca8/v-deo.html for how to layout the panel sizes. I was introduced to this video after I completed this project the one thing, I would add to his video is before welding in the panels I would measure the width of the from bracket and tack in a piece of metal to hold the guard width before welding in the panels. I had an issue putting the guard back on because the guard was smaller. I am going to make a video on how to make the artwork and letters (got to figure out how to make it).
@@spendingtimeinpapasbarn.1995 it’s really a nice job! Back in the day when I welded for a commercial fabrication company, we would tack short pieces of angle to our tables to help hold the various items, mostly rails, then clamp the rail to the short angle which allowed easy access to where we needed to spot weld. Recheck measurements to the blueprints and do the welds. The short angle pieces be welded on the inside and outside to hold the “frame” in strategic places so not to interfere with the pipes. I don’t know if that makes sense to you, hopefully. I am curious to what gauge metal you used for the grill, was it 12g? It would make BH very happy to see Crimson Tide logo on my tractor😂
@@elained9591 yes that makes sense to me. I have seen guys do that to make a temporary fixtures. I used 14 ga., I thought 12 ga. Would be to thick to work by hand. 6:00 I built a similar device using a Subsoiler from Tractor Supply and attached a piece of 90° conduit to the backside of it. I used it for putting 1/2" water line from the house to the back yard for the fishpond. Worked like a dream.
I also built a subsoiler out of 2 1/4" conduit sweep and fence post. The backside of a heavy hitch plow ripper was backed by angle iron and steel straps resulting in a 22" potential depth. This was to bury 1 1/4 liquidtite condiut for fiberoptics. The problem with subsoilers though is they need downpressure so a weight rack needs to be added.
This is a good episode. I am really liking the cable burial system. I could use the heck out of this. Probably going to do that tire mod too! BTW: I want to take a manure spreader (big unit) and run it through DC! You can get the nozzles at Tractor Supply. Old style with just a nozzle and includes an air breather for back of can.
Great 🚜 talk video keep the good work up! Best modification I've seen on UA-cam for altering a gas can 🤔 Installing a valve stem at the rear of the can.
You are absolutely right, if you can get someone to do tractor work for $35 hr, take it and Run ! Basic tractor work (brush hogging etc) STARTS at $75 hr in New England.

@@anthonycash4609 100% agree. As a business owner it makes me cringe! I would love to talk to the $35 dollar an hr guy. I know we don’t know the whole situation of either parties but the guy with the land should continue just paying to have it done at that rate.
Just watched the video about rear tire extension. I own a MF 451 4x4 and when I am going to get on hillside I take and swap the rear tires, I put the right side on left and vis versa. Simple mod! Great content 1st time viewer.
Ventrac makes a “6 way” v-plow for their tractor. Favorite fuel system is Flo-fast. They have cans that can store up to 15 gallons of fuel and the pumps can transfer 8 gallons per minute. Saves my back!
When it come to Milo; another outlook would be the pure enjoyment of doing the work and all the other projects it helps with. If you enjoy doing the work itself then the cost savings dosent compare to the gratification of seat time. It is expensive but as mentioned in previous videos the value dosent drop to $0. You will always have each attachment and the tractor to sell if needed.
E-Z pour nozzles are a thing. Gives you a new spout and a vent to add to your can. I have them on all my cans, and they are way better than the standard nozzles.
I agree with you. Milo needs to keep that guy on the payroll. He may elect to gat a smaller tractor and do some "tidy up" work but leave the heavy stuff to the other guy if he is only charging $35/hr. That's a steal. Love the video.
As a Fellow Hill Country rancher, I agree. The ware on a tractor cutting the mesquite will were out a tractor and tires. I use a JD 3025 to keep just a few acers of my land under control and that takes hours in the hot Texas sun.
SureCan for sure! They’ve made the others so I literally cannot work the safety gizmos and end up taking off the funnel and just pouring. SureCan allows me to balance on the fender and fill up. Just wish JD would’ve put a flatter place for a 5 gal can to balance.
You were talking about gas and diesel cans and the nozzles that are on the current cans. If you have a Rural King in your area they sale a replacement nozzle that fits most cans and aren't that expensive. They work great.
Hi, you didn't hear it from me, but there's Companies that make " water " can / jug spouts , that just happen to fit gas jug /cans. ( O rings) make good seal replacement. For old jugs
You can buy replacement nozzles that are just the old style tubes. None of that safety crap that leaks all over the place. Everytime I buy a gas can I go ahead and buy the nozzle also
as far as fuel containers go at 75 years old i've purchased one of those battery operated fuel pumps that insert into a 5 gallon tank. works great and don't have to worry about spillage. they have auto shut off for overfilling.
For handling fuel, I use a Flo-Fast system with a cart and rotary pump. The 5 or 7.5 gallon jugs are easy to lift into my truck and the pump makes it easy to fill without having to hold a can up while filling. Not cheap, but safe and easy on the back!
Did you know Amazon sells replacement spouts for fuel cans. They also have inexpensive vents you can add to your can. They come in plastic or metal with no leaks
They sell the plastic vents which can be closed when not used. Simply drill a hole in the can and once it's tipped it just pop the vent and the fuel close out much quicker. Sorry I don't have a picture yet cuz it's on my to-do list.
Well I got tired of the five gallon cans so I got a used oil drum from one of the quick change places for free and now go get fuel in the drum. Then I built a stand that is about five inches higher then the fuel inlet. I put a garden hose valve in with a section of hose and fill by gravity. No more lugging fuel cans around all of the time. Forgot to mention that you have to loosen the other bung to get the gravity feed going.
SureCans are the way to go for small amounts of fuel. Beware of those aftermarket spouts for other cans, they don't hold up against fuel. I've seen others use small transfer pumps to work with basic cans. I agree with the tractor + mower analysis. Hire it out for that price.
Simplest fuel can mod. Drill a hole for a small tire valve stem. Remove the internals. I can't remember what it's called. Install in top rear of can. Remove the valve stem cap when pouring. Reinstall to store. Videos of this mod on UA-cam. Another option is to get cans from Canada. They aren't as dumb as us, when it comes to fuel cans.
Dude with the ranch needs to consider annual controlled burns for awhile. Cut the area you want to control late spring/early summer. Leave it where it lays for the next year until early spring. Use a Harrow to cut in some fire breaks then burn when it’s low wind 70% humidity. April is usually a good month. After ~2years of that treatment… Then you can mow that property with a compact.
Tractor Supply sells "water can" spouts for "water cans" that wouldn't you know are the same exact size as the plastic 5 gallon fuel cans. They have them right where you buy the 5 gallon fuel cans. 😉
I like the pushbutton 5 gal cans. They have that short spout with the green button on the opposite end. They also have a very wide mouth for easy fillups

If you're constantly using fuel cans, then they do sell the mod kits to convert them to just a nozzle. If you're just a weekend warrior, I'd still suggest buying that mod kit. I try to scoop up as many old style cans as I can from yard sales, market place, wherever. Even the busted cans can give you the nozzle piece that might fit.
I use a siphon to transfer fuel from a gas can to my tractor. One type has a small steel ball in the end and you insert it into the fuel can and shake it to start the fuel flow. Second type is a battery powered pump, got it at Menards. Once you start the fuel flowing you can turn off the pump and it will continue to siphon. Both types require the can to be above the fuel tank to work. Sure better than lifting 5 gallon cans.
Not saying all your other videos are not interesting, but that was some pretty cool content. To bring your fans into the video is top notch!! Way to go Cortney!!
For putting fuel in my tractor I use a battery transfer pump. This way I don’t have to lift the can up and end up getting diesel over me as well just holding it there until it is empty. I’m curious when you’re going to release your weight hangers for a JD I-Match? I could use a pair.
James, I am lucky I live about 1 1/2 miles from a Kroger I just drive over and fill it up. Oh yea, it gets very cold driving there in cold weather. Lol
I use Gelg fuel cans. They are basically an old-school 5-gallon Jerry can. The spout for them isn't great, so I use a cheap ($20-ish) battery pump that runs on 2 D-cells. It makes life easier to not need to hold up 40 pounds of weight while trying not to slosh fuel all over the paint job... They are the solution I'm using until I can get a 100-gallon diesel tank put together.
That’s a BA looking fallers belt, can we get a video on that? I’m actually headed out to do a little logging with my buddy and our tractors in just a few. It’s a great way to spend a day and it’s unbelievable how much two guys, two chainsaws, and two tractors can get cut in a day!
Milo, Maybe check US military surplus sites to see if Uncle Sam has any Agent Orange left on clearance? Annual maintenance on a Huey might be tad pricier than your tractor guy's though, so shop around... ;-)
I enjoy the new concept of this video. I would watch it until the end. It is a refreshing change compare to some of you other videos, excuse me for being blunt but some videos sounds like an add for used cars with a quick talking salesman type...I normally stop watching them after less than 1 minute. But this new concept is very instructive and funny to watch and I am looking forward for the next one.
I would think the gentleman from Texas is gonna need a tractor for that many acres, not just for mowing. I bought my 4044 for a multitude of tasks on just my 58 acres in NC. Driveway maintenance, log handling, dirt moving, back hoe, etc. It is a real back saver. But you are getting a bargain. Hmmm? Get one! You deserve the fun. Go Portage Mustangs!
Hey Courtney. Another very entertaining segment sir. Lot's of great mods and fabs in this clip. Love the tire on the top link. That's the balz! Also the trenching set up is awesome. Definitely needs to go to market. I bet those boys hangin out by that Ford tractor doing the pull were wishin they brought a change of underwear..LOL! It's incredible that someone didn't buy the farm... Ooops..forgot...I use the yellow can to the right from TSC. Though, wishing I had a nozzle like yours!..(to quote Mustie 1 "there is a joke in there somewhere"). Very enjoyable video.. Thanks for sharing!
Have you looked at Metal Pless blades and pushers? They have a front blade that is close to a 6-way. Hydraulic angle and wings. I think the model I was looking at was the Reversemaxx.
I mowed my 18 acre farm with rented, borrowed and owned small tractors for 25 years. I finally decided to buy a bigger tractor(5055E) John Deere, and the bigger decision was to buy their 12ft. Batwing shredder. I was too familiar with the time and dust associated with using a 5ft. Shredder and I can now easily shred 4 acres in an hour. My place has never looked better and I've only shredded 3 times this year. The Deere do the rest. It's just a matter of perspective and $$$
Excellent video! With that many acres to cut I would purchase what is needed, or wanted. Do my own mowing to take in what the land is like. See what the land needs to make it special to the owner. The personal touch would see the needs, to remove or add, to improve the acres. Mowing twice a year would be a great way to see what is working.
I don’t know how many people I’ve told about wheel spacers! It’s the best money spent on your tractor! When I got my BX I was so nervous every time I turn the tractor with the bucket even low to the ground it wanted to tip over on the slightest grade and that’s with a weight box on the back. My butt got so tight. I put 1 1/2”spacers on the front and 2” on the rear and can still get my mowing deck underneath. I hardly ever think about it now tipping. Don’t buy cheap spacers off of eBay. Spend some money and get the ones made for the tractor. You got to ask yourself “what’s your life worth”
What I did for fueling my tractor I built a cart to get the fuel can up to a good level with the tractor and put a pump in the can, which works great. Just roll the cart up to the tractor and pump the fuel in, no standing there holding the can up.
I know you sell new equipment and that's your main focus for costs. But if he were too look at used equipment he would more than likely find a really nice deal and be able to have a front loader tractor and if he wanted to in the future rent his own time and machines out to make a profit. For example we bought a farmall 806 gasser for about 5k and if he were invested say 2500 into a bat wing to go behind that he has a 100hp tractor and a 15+ foot mower. If he gets the right tractor like I said earlier he now has a loader too and they are super handy if you get used to using them. I mean he might have to put a little time into fixing some things here and there, but he would be self sufficient like he wants and have something to do in his free time. Just another thing to think about when buying equipment.Great video btw the thumbnail of the tire caught my eye and I just had to watch it to see what the deal was with that.
Love your videos. Soon to be a tractor guy. I've been thinking about a 2021 BX 2680. Everything says they are great for their size but could you please tell why they don't have a back hoe available or what backhoe would work on it if at all or why not. Thanks for your time. Much appreciated from Canada

They sell the plastic vents which can be closed when not used. Simply drill a hole in the can and once it's tipped it just pop the vent and the fuel close out much quicker. Sorry I don't have a picture yet cuz it's on my to-do list.
This was absolutely great. Thank you. Made my Sunday morning.
Super happy to see the shout-out for the Rockhill farm channel. I love his content!
Enjoyed your new video. Good variety of content in your video. Big thumbs-up. 👍🏽🙂
SureCans are the way to go for small amounts of fuel. Beware of those aftermarket spouts for other cans, they don't hold up against fuel. I've seen others use small transfer pumps to work with basic cans.
I agree with the tractor + mower analysis. Hire it out for that price.
Another great video. Thanks!
I like the format of the show. I liked to old format too but variety is the spice of life.
Replacement gas can nozzles from FB Marketplace for the gas can issue. And goats for the rancher needing to clear his land.
I can't believe that the farmer got inside the security gate in Washington DC and the "manure " took root and grew.
Tractor Supply sells "water can" spouts for "water cans" that wouldn't you know are the same exact size as the plastic 5 gallon fuel cans. They have them right where you buy the 5 gallon fuel cans. 😉
Love those grill guards. The guard on my L6060 is very flimsy, it is constantly shaking side to side. The Kubota one looks like a easy build.
I like the pushbutton 5 gal cans. They have that short spout with the green button on the opposite end. They also have a very wide mouth for easy fillups
RETIRED 77, USAF VET JET MECHANIC.
2017 KUBOTA L4701 AND 2018 K008-3 EXCAVATOR. 100 NEIGHBORS ON ACRE LOTS. MAKE COMPOST FROM MANURE, LEAVES AND GRASS. FREE TRACTOR WORK, IT KEEPS ME IN TROUBLE.
I made a quick connect for my wireless control snowplow, works great on my Kubota B2301.
Really enjoy the "tractor talk" video format, good stuff! I saw that massive engine failure on beer money pulling the night it happened, crazy!
Great Content
Not saying all your other videos are not interesting, but that was some pretty cool content. To bring your fans into the video is top notch!! Way to go Cortney!!
You just need a world famous celerity guest, mount a cup holder ... somewhere... and you'll have it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Seriously, I loving your variety show.
Love the little behind the scenes showing the Godox light!
Lol
Love the format
I use Gelg fuel cans. They are basically an old-school 5-gallon Jerry can. The spout for them isn't great, so I use a cheap ($20-ish) battery pump that runs on 2 D-cells. It makes life easier to not need to hold up 40 pounds of weight while trying not to slosh fuel all over the paint job...
They are the solution I'm using until I can get a 100-gallon diesel tank put together.
Replacement spout's are sold at TSC..
Enjoyed the "Tractor Talk", Keep them Coming!
Annual maintenance on a Huey might be tad pricier than your tractor guy's though, so shop around... ;-)
Still loving this format...crushing it Courtney!
Tractor supply sells "replacement" old style spouts and vents for fuel cans.
tractor supply has aftermarket gas can spouts for all kinds of gas cans new and old. even high flow models.
Keep up the good work, love this type of video. Great ideas from other tractors owners. Keep them coming.
Where can we find the apex burial system? I ave been looking at subsoilers with layer attachments and this looks like a much more complete system.
I now use a dirt bike type fuel can for my bobcat 2025. It's easy to hold, and fills a bit faster than the popular types.
Wow, great vid C! Love’d the sho!!
I love this series! I can’t wait till next week
Love your channel. I’m new to tractor Just moved to the country. And bought a Rural King subcompact tractor. Will be looking for attachment.
Thanks for sharing!
i would love that bucket insert for snow
A high powered tractor ride is always a blast.
Have you looked at Metal Pless blades and pushers? They have a front blade that is close to a 6-way. Hydraulic angle and wings. I think the model I was looking at was the Reversemaxx.
I'll tell you right now, I'm stealing his idea of adding the HF tire/wheel to the top link. Thanks for sharing that one.
Thanks Courtney.
You are right that’s a real good deal
Amazon sells “replacement” old school nozzles for about $15 for a two pack. It even includes a vent that can be installed into non vented cans!!!
What I did for fueling my tractor I built a cart to get the fuel can up to a good level with the tractor and put a pump in the can, which works great. Just roll the cart up to the tractor and pump the fuel in, no standing there holding the can up.
Telephone companies have been using that system of cable laying for years, seems mostly for house drops or smaller multi-pair cables.
Great video !!
Thanks for the video -- what tire/wheel did that fellow use on the top link?
For a fuel can I used an old refer semi trailer fuel tank. Mine holds 30 gallons. I hooked up a hose and put it on a shelf and let the gravity flow.
Love your videos. Soon to be a tractor guy. I've been thinking about a 2021 BX 2680. Everything says they are great for their size but could you please tell why they don't have a back hoe available or what backhoe would work on it if at all or why not. Thanks for your time. Much appreciated from Canada
What is your opinion on coyote tractors, my grandfather has purchased a coyote 40 horse enclosed cab, we have had a cab light problem but we can't figure out what to do.
I was thinking traditional 5th wheel, it wasn’t till close to the end I realized you were talking about the tire on the adjustable link. 🤦♂️😂
Gotta love a play on words!
