George Follmer and Vic Elford had major testicular fortitude to race these little monsters. I couldn't even imagine pressing the go-fast pedal on one of these.
One of the few advantages of being old is to have had the chance to see CanAm racing from 1966 to 1970. This is a fine example of the many innovative and yes mental race cars that that series spawned, not to be out done by the various Chaparrals.
This is just brutal just static . Small body , big V8 , huge velocity stacks , big headers . I love it . I lost the big velocity stacks the most , pure NA sound
Grazie Bozzy, for going above and beyond and putting the much-needed context for these cars in the descriptions of these videos. For the really obscure stuff like the early "knee-high" Shadows, it is certainly needed. And on that note, that's the real thing I love about Can-Am cars: the variety of ways to build a mousetrap. Few rules means a challenge can be tackled from any direction, and any one of them could work. Bit annoying to read how the SCCA kept banning stuff Trevor Harris came up with, even beyond the ban on active aero (which was probably just a consequence of the FIA decision).
No worries buddy! Thanks a lot for your support. Shadow' history is so interesting that it would take a whole book just to talk about a single car (it's no coincidence that I had to cut a lot for the description of this video). Really fascinating. And as you stated Can-Am was such a a paradise for innovations and experiments
Grazie mille! 🤗Just thinking about how warm it's down there makes me a little envious right (I'm freezing here..) 😅😆 Wish you all the best for these Christmas holidays!
Stood next to, and got a close up look at that car at Road America. Its incredibly small, really nothing in front of the driver. Would be instant death if you hit something. Probably a good thing it overheated like crazy in its day, as there were never any fatalities in Can Am. But an incredible machine, when designers really had a clean sheet. Long live Can Am!
Are you referring to those two silver oblique pieces at 1:02? I believe those two metal strips gives extra support to the rear radiators so that they are better attached to the rear wing and they aren't at risk of collapsing, flying away at high speeds
I so miss Can-Am.
It's almost like having a V8 backpack.
We don’t need more hybrids. We need more of these
so rare to see stuff like this driven properly, fair play lad, especially when you see the pedals!!

1:44 when you see your custom character in a cutscene
Maybe a bit too subtle, but I'll allow it.

That thing is mental and bonkers. I had the privilege of watching Can-Am as a kid and there was nothing else like it.
I am just so glad I've been subbed to you all these years and you continue to provide beautiful, quality content
Thanks a lot for your support, dude!
This thing looks like something out of a live action Wacky Races movie.
Glad I listened to this with ear buds… so good!
What a machine
What a maachinnnnneee ( Jeremy Clarkson voice ) 😉

Amazing. Also the 9 inch wheels
The good old days without electric motor assisted drive. Those Can-Am races were great at Mosport.
I would love to watch the race with these again bring them back
That angry little buddy made my day.
This could easily be a modern-day Can-Am racer.
What a crazy looking machine. The rear looks ridiculous.
Can see my retired self going to the shops at 7am in the morning in one of these babies❤
Imagine the delight of my neighbourhood.......😁
These Can-Am cars were truly cocaine on wheels. I wish we had a racing series that resembled that attitude nowadays
Great V8 Sound 🔥🔥🔥🔥
That engine has a nice car
Sound is good performance is fast a
car for me
Reminds me of an old big block jet boat.
Buon Natale, Bozzy. Dal tuo amico in Australia.🎄🙏📿🎁🦘

Mamma mia! È una mia impressione oppure pattina in piena velocità sul rettifilo?

90s hot wheels:
You're gonna need a bigger wing
Holy shit ❤
It's a go kart with a Chevy Big Block engine.😂😂
Exactly...gotta love it!
Are these radiators on the wing? WTF
Yep
are those radiators on the back spoilers
Such a goofy vehicular contraption, looks like it’s straight out of Speed Racer or Wacky Races or something
5:55 that silver car in back is better then this epic go kart
Sounds like a old hilborn injected big block Pontiac in a super modified /a winged sprint car 🇺🇲👍
I have a 🔥 hot wheels car of the shadow. Now I can make the correct engine noise.🔥
I would easily daily this. Also, what is the role of the duct tape on the wing?

🖤❤🔥😉👍👌🔥❤🖤
Still waiting for someone to mod this for AC lol
Same.. 🥲
what abeauty- you have to be a bit mental to race that lol
Can-Am = Go Karts from hell.
:)
