When fighting games had secrets, it was the best. Back in the arcade days, it blew my mind when one week I'd see Tekken tag with only a couple characters locked, then the next week, Kazuya (unlocked after 7 weeks) was there. I used to blow my friends' minds when I'd show them that I knew how to pick Armored Spidey and knew the Spine rip Sub Zero fatality in MK1.
It has to be said that Capcom did a fantastic job with the Spider-Man sprite and animation. I don't know if the got Christopher Daniel Barnes to voice him or not, but it sure does sound like him.
+Ruben M. Fightcade is great. Sometimes roms don't work with it and take a little bit of troubleshooting but it's a pretty lively community; so it's worth the effort. A lot of the games on there have lots of competition so you can actually get pretty close to the feel of fighting against guys in the arcade like in the 'old days' especially if you have a fight stick.
My fave game in the MVC series because it was the first one i've played and the first game i owned for the ps1.i honestly cannot get enough of this game.i still own the original CD and play it on my ps2. good times
Cyclops/Akuma is the answer in this game; although Dark Sakura and Spider-Man are both pretty valid for breaking up the monotony - well, except the all-shotos thing. Shadow Charile is fun, but he's no XvSF Charlie, not by a long shot. Also, PUNISH WHIFFED ASSISTS!! This isn't MvC/2; there aren't many instant/fullscreen options for punishing punishes (IIRC; ONLY CYCLOPS CAN), unlike in the MvC series. A whiffed assist can be safely air comboed or supered without a lot or retaliation options for the recieving player!
I actually think MK would be pretty awesome with sprites like the Marvel series, 3rd Strike, Skullgirls, Persona Arena, Guilty Gear, or the most recent KOF game. Imagine how fast paced and over the top it would be! Fatalities would still be epic as fuck.
That Sakura theme... :') And Max, you should pick Ryu and Ken next time, just to use their double super and hear that glorious 'Double Shinkuu Hadou-ken' by the announcer!

hey guys soo i want to get into fighting games but i dont have one of those arcade controller things would it still be good with a normal controller or no?
i have some SF5 theories that i need the people to validate or call me stupid. So we know that there is a brazil stage but i doubt its for oro or sean. I think that one of those 8 OG slots is blanka (95% sure) or a new character (5% sure). I hope the last og slot is either akuma or Sagat. I also have another theory that Alex and Urien are going to be in the game at launch. Maybe the last of the 8 "Characters you'd expect to be in a SF game" is Alex. Like he was the main character of SF3 and seems like he should be in the game (im surprised he wasnt in SF4). I think that urien is a given because of the illuminate looking to be in the game with nash's forehead mark thing. This theory is actually more of a wish but i like it.

+Rump Buffalo The lockdown/rushdown is actually pretty broken in this game if you use assist. It almost has the opposite problem of being a chip-match at high level.
Maybe I'm just ignorant to the inner workings of either game. This was just more entertaining to watch than any UMvC3 I've ever seen, including pro matches. Just my opinion
My version of MSHvsSF had the announcer yelling the super names really loud everytime it was a finisher. It was the best! lol
