People like to say Wolverine was the first poster boy, but I think Cyclops had it especially when it came to crossovers in the early days. Cyclops and Ryu shaking hands has yet to be topped in any fighting game ever made and possibly any crossover in my opinion. But then that was just a function.
Wolverine was a more popular character at the time (him being in all of the original Marvel VS games) but I do think Cyclops shines more in the series as a whole.
Waluigi deserve his own game I think he is one of them don't forget powerstone 1 announcer street fighter alpha 2 and 3 super street fighter 4 and smash Bros melee.
This is my favorite game in the entire vs. Series. It was a solid sequel on many fronts. The soundtrack was phenomenal. The character list was awesome. Even the assists made for a welcome addition. Overall, this game was the most balanced of the 2 vs. 2 games.
this is one they SHOULD have had in the Legacy Collection...even most of my friends who remember this game in the 90s from the arcades cant figure out why this one wasnt a 3rd game in the collection

My hometown arcade used to have this game. One of the very few times I was there, I played it almost exclusively but was still too young to actually learn anything or remember the name of it. Seeing it here was a major nostalgia trip

Nah, Shuma and Blackheart were way more obscure than Omega Red. Hardly anyone who wasnt a diehard Marvel comic reader even knew who they were. I remember seeing those 2 and was like who the heck are these weirdos,lol. They were the only characters on the roster i didnt know.
The Announcer does NOT say the name of the team super when it's a finisher. I believe he says "crossover combination finish!". For some reason he just says "hyper combo finish!" for some of the hidden characters' super finishers.
The imperfect characters were awful, the story mode sucked (The imperfects kicked the butts of all Marvel characters and since I am a Marvel fan it pissed me off, also the imperfects where not cool), the AI was terrible and spammed special moves over and over, it lacked a decent combo system (one normal combo, one using the special abilities of the character and one air combo, really? That's lame). The only things I liked was using Spidey, Daredevil and Wolvie. If it had been a good game EA would have made a sequel, but they preferred to hand over the Marvel license to Capcom which allowed MvsC3 to be created, which was a good thing for the FGC.
I actually always liked this game a lot. I love how they didnt just remix the characters old themes, but instead gave them completely new ones, which were all pretty good in their own regard (wolverine Omega red and Bison's were great). Also it has the best intro in the VS series imo. I swear hearing that as a kid made me sooo hype to play the game. The announcer was like Billy Mays on crack,lol.

My issue with this game is that there were many street fighter alpha characters to choose from to include in the MSHVSF roster, but chose Dan out of all of them. Would've really wanted to see Sagat, Rose (other than a background extra), or any of the final fight characters.
I really miss all the character theme songs that were in these games. Once we got to MvC 2, those went the way of the dog and didn't even barely make it in MvC 3. Perhaps Infinite will have them back.

3 fun facts about this game: 1. Sakura can transform into dark Sakura and she doesn’t have an air fireball super it’s a normal ryu super. And 2. You can change ryu ki outfit colors from red (Ken’s move list plus supers) black (Akumas move list plus supers) and evil ryu yellow and off white 3. Sakura does have a fireball when you jump in the air she shoots it downward but it doesn’t float just a fireball emitting from her hand

Max, dude, that first theme was Dan's theme, not Sakura's, you always listen the theme of your opponent and then when a character is knoced down the theme resets to whoever is entering, even if it is the same character

Also let’s not forget how cool Cyber Akuma was at that time ! 😃 The only complaint I had about the game was that it didn’t have a female marvel character 🤷♂️ How COOL would it have been to see rogue, psylocke or storm as a playable character in this game! 😃😃😃😃
