Gorgeous piece. Orient knocks it out of the park with yet another sleeeper. Really love the moderate-size and attempt at decorating the movement. Good review! Looking forward to more.
I had a similar hunt for a Seiko SNX123, another 37mm Explorer like watch, it took 12 months to find one after being outbid on the first one I found when I didn't realise how rare they were. The one I bought needed a bit of re polishing & a new crystal but is a little corker now even on the jingly jangly 19mm Seiko 5 bracelet.
I should be getting this watch in this week! I'm sure I waaaaaaay overpaid for it, but I had to have it when I saw it! Thanks for doing a great review on the watch!
@@threehandhunter I just got the watch in and it's as gorgeous as you said in your review. Unfortunately the watch I got is only sized to about a 6.5" wrist and I'm a 6 3/4" wrist. I am one link too small. If you have one link that you're willing to sell to me can you please let me know and I would be willing to buy your link. Thanks
lovely video, i am a big OS fan myself and own couple of OS Explorient (gold with sunburst dial & blue with pr indicator with date pusher at 2)....whats great is they are not homages as it has their own character. And also the your hands usually indicate that its an LE.
I've owned this exact watch since 2005. I had the curved domed plastic replaced with a flat sapphire crystal along with a date cyclops magnifier. You want to talk about insanely beautiful? Because of my flat crystal, you can see the indices and details much better. Either the bracelet or a brown letter strap look incredible. One watch I will NEVER sell.
hi! love the review! it was actually because of this review that i watched 3 years ago that i began looking for an explorient down the line and i finally have one coming in! this exact model. i know you have had the outdoor on hand, as well; i just wanna ask, how does this compare to that in terms of finishing quality? i know its around 20 years apart in terms of production, but id love to hear your thoughts on that. thanks!
Managed to snag one last year from a US seller, who was letting it go after acquiring a NOS example! Very interested in buying a similar domed sapphire crystal for it - what are the dimensions? Cheers!
So, when I go this one it came from a seller in Singapore. It already had the crystal. I had gone down the road trying to source one, even chatting with Orient USA (no luck) and that is about when I came across this one. Long story short, I am not sure the dimensions, but if you ever find out, please let me know! Nice find, btw!
I have the orient star classic Wz0021dd 37mm, manual winding, power reserve indicator sapphire, gold tone case, white dial, beautiful watch but unpopular.
Crazy how they are unpopular. I actually think it’s the name and branding. But that’s a personal opinion of course. But the quality of their watches are still pretty amazing
I agree, but what a watch especially for the price it was when they sold them. Still even if ya gotta pay an extra couple bucks I think in today's day with some company's Charing Pluto prices that it's a solid watch that is so versatile and beautiful but also has awesome measurements that if ya like the style it's a heck of a watch.
I found the other version, the one with the other movement and bracelet and index. Im really tempted to buy one, is the difference really that significant? Or at the end its the same watch?

Thank you very much. Orient makes some great watches. I’ve owned a few over the years. Sleepers is a great way to put it!
I own black dial version, totally agree with you. Awesome watch, great quality.
I had two black dials, a friend of mine (locally) has one of them still. Pretty rare to have one, nice!!
Very nice I like this style alot! I never knew until now very cool, appreciate it brother. Take care.
You are welcome! There was a Watchuseek seller letting one go recently. It was gone in a flash!

Nice review. Great value watch even without the explorient nickname.
Thank you so much!

I didn’t know the hands indicate at limited edition. Can you explain a little more? This is very interesting 🤔!
@@threehandhunter older orient star models usually use that specific hands for LEs only....
Very beautiful watch! Thanks for Share
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!

It's amazing. Agreed.
I got two questions for you: 1) Where/how did you end up upgrading that crystal? 2) Could you post a video of how yours looks rn?
@@BeKam777 It was done by the previous owner in Singapore, and I sold it last year to someone who was dying to have it. So sorry!

I personally feel the 20yr old watch has the upper hand on finishing. And great job sourcing one!
I have a black dial date model if you’re interested! It has the stick indexes, nice droopy lugs, big window caseback, and rivet bracelet 🖤
Cool watch thanks for the video
Thanks for watching! And I very much appreciate the comments! Hope to see you on the next video.

Congratulations. It was put on in Singapore by the previous owner. Glad you found one!!
The amount of guy’s saying I sold a watch and regret it 😂

@@threehandhunter it seems like orient is not even trying to be popular, unless you are into watches, you'll never know these hidden gems.
from looks it should be pre 2010.... due to the old style logo of OS. the only downside should be the non hacking and non handwinding part
I think you are correct!

Perfect size.
Can’t even feel it on the wrist
Sure, sure, make a vid on a very cool desirable 36mm watch that’s very hard to find . . . thanks a lot 😉😉🤔😡😁

I've got one in black if U want :D
Mind blowing !!! subscribed
Thank you!
Where did you get the sapphire crystal for it?
Previous owner had it done in Singapore
@@threehandhunter ok thanks, I actually own one since brand new
a real beauty
It sure is. I sold it to someone who had been searching for this model forever. I do miss it now!
@@threehandhunter I can relate 👍
do you know the diameter and thickness of the crystal? do you need to remove the movement to change crystals?
I don’t since I didn’t have it done. I bought it from a Singaporean and that work was done there
@@threehandhunter how much was the retail price for the piece and when did it release? cant seem to find it online. maybe because of its rarity.
@@threehandhunter ang how much did you buy the piece from sg?
I am a sucker for day date and small....I don't know why they are done with all this brilliant stuff :(
me too!!!!!!!! Love the "day" typed out completely. Monday over Mon! Right?
Rolex : don't compare me with others....You nut.
haha
Bro do you sell it?
No, I still own it!
It has a certain something!
Something!!
I bought it!!! :) thanks Blake! I subscribe Your channel. Take care :)
Congratulations, Marcin! I'm so happy this piece went to someone who will treasure her. happy birthday, btw!
@@threehandhunter It has been one year now! still have it, still adore it Man!
Why are well designed watches not produced in the same numbers as ugly large watches
Right???
Shouldn't that be "Explorient"? 😅
DAMN...Typos will get me every time. Good catch!
Okay, fixed it. Thank you!!!

Nice watch but nothing like a explorer.
Like comparing pineapples to oranges, haha. I agree. And thanks for the compliment on the watch. It's rare and a beauty.
Well... to be honest.. You can't buy a new Explorer I in 36mm. Good luck buying any new Rolex.
Are you nut ? Stupid compared or u don't know the price of explorer.
These hands... 🤔
I sure wish they were heat treated AND a different set too
@@threehandhunter These hands are very beautiful, but not on this dial :)
It's a Shake Orient, No handwinding, Hardlex no thanks
You are correct about the movement, but with the upgraded crystal, it made the watch for me
I found the other version, the one with the other movement and bracelet and index.

I'm sure not that different. I think the display caseback and bracelet will be different. Great find!
