No one sings quite like John Farnham! He's earnt his title of The Voice. Total living legend. ❤❤❤ Where do we start with more songs. Playing to Win That's Freedom It's a Long way to the Top ONE Lucille from 1973 We Two, or Reminiscing while with LRB
John is incredible and can really sing any genre, he is a powerhouse. Thanks for the great reaction. Would love for you to check out my favourite John Farnham song “burn for you” live acoustic the concert with him in the black shirt.
Awesome, so glad you got hear this, really shows his versatility. I'm not sure if he ever did it live in a show, maybe, but it wasn't something ever recorded for release, purely a vocal warm up/ sound check for them all. It was recorded by someone, one time while they were doing it, and the recording was eventually put on the 'Anthology' compilation album many years later. He did a great version of AC/DC's 'Long Way To The Top', in the same concert as 'Help' with the MSO, that is really something amazing. Thanks for this one Sue, so fun. ✌❤
Oh to see this live would have been awesome. Now you know why he is known as 'The Voice' John can sing any genre...yes even opera lol. His band was also the best in the business as most joined and never left...it became like a family. Lovely to catch up with this channel again Sue. I've been off air lately as my dear brother passed away. But back now as music is my healing ...
@justlinsu Oh Linsu, I am so sorry to hear about your brother passing. My deepest sympathies. Losing our loved ones is so hard. I am touched to see you back. I have missed our interactions. Sending you much love ❤️
Hi Sue. Not only has our dear John beat mouth cancer but he’s going to be a grandfather for the time. I’m so happy for him. Great reaction as always, Sue. ❤️🇦🇺
In my opinion, John Farnham has one of the best voices in the world. His range is phenomenal, he can sing anything. I have heard this many times and it still blows me away every time. I actually have the Anthology set of 3 albums, they are treasures. Thank you for coming back to John Sue, it was worth the wait!😁
He has performed Yesterday ( Beatles) in concert in the early 70s. The full concert is available on this platform and shows his early stage craft and talent.(the Jamie Redfern Show) is the concert.
Need to watch his AC / DC cover Long way to the top with Melbourne symphony orchestra You'll get to see he's rock performance He does a great cover of amazing grace Its with he's back up singers venetta fields and Lindsay field Also a cover with other back up singer lisa Edwards angles You will get to see the real john's personality and who he is normally Hope these help if haven't seen these covers
Sue, this was a sound check, not a warm up. One of the guitarists, Brett Garsed, asked a sound technician to record it as he wanted to check some of his runs. John and the rest of the band had no idea they were being recorded. To the best of my knowledge John did perform this once in a concert in Brisbane but it never made it onto any of his albums. A copy of this sound check recording did make it onto his Rarities album.
What a morning! 🎉🎉 Heaps of Aussie rock content in my feed today with a huge array of songs from Jet (Are you gonna be my girl), Spiderbait (Black Betty), and now Black Dog by John. Totally rocking morning. Thank you Sue for making my day with this reaction. Now I just need to hear some Jimmy Barnes or Cold Chisel and that’ll keep me going for the rest of the day. PS shout out to the back up singers, Lisa Edward’s, Vanetta Fields (who was an Ikette) and Lindsay Field too.
@kazz3956 haha excellent, Kazz! So glad you are having a great Aussie music day. There could be a thread here as well. When you said Black Betty and Black Dog, I immediately thought of the colour jet black when you mentioned the band Jet haha...maybe it is just my mind 🤪 This was phenomenally done by John. He is the master. I hope more channels give you JB or CC today as well 🤩💕
Great reaction, thanks Sue. As part of John's history, I'd highly recommend another band that he was involved in - Little River Band. The track to listen to is "It's a long way there" but make sure it's the Remastered 2022 version (ua-cam.com/video/peIWYIiEMaE/v-deo.html). This features their original lead singer Glenn Shorrock. The vocal harmonies and instrumentation on this are phenomenal. Have a great day.
That was a cool Zeppelin cover. The name sounds familiar but I'm unsure if I've heard some of this work. The dude can strait up sing, hopefully a reaction to one of his songs are in order Sue. In regards to covers the guy that comes to mind is Phil X. Phil joined Triumph after RIk Emmett left the band but shortly thereafter (Triumph dissolved) he moved to LA to become a session player. He had his own band but for the most part they went nowhere. Phil is an amazing guitar player and singer. Because he was a guitar player I sorta followed his work doing covers of famous songs in Ontario mostly. Phil finally got his big break when he took over for Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi. He's been the Bon Jovi every since. Phil has a ton of content all over YT and when you hear his covers you are in awe, especially his old stuff of Hendirx and Zeppelin.
@JeromeDukes Excellent, thanks Jason. I will gladly check Phil out. I have done a few songs by John. If you want to hear more stuff he has done, I have made a Playlist of John's songs that I have reacted to. He is extremely talented and seems like a great guy 😀🩵
Hi Sue. Anything of John's, Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel, live is a must - Aussies are such genuine and natural performers, especially from this era, and our younger stars have been learning from the best. John is the G.O.A.T. - can sing any genre and Jimmy is our Rock, Soul, Blues King. Our live bands are fantastic too. They are family to John and you can see it and hear it in their performances. Jimmy and John are great mates and we just love them both ❤🎉😂 Always listen to them live and another great one is John with Richard Marx 1994, who wrote the song , The Reason Why, which he thinks of his children when singing. This is a phenomenal performance with Richard on the piano. Theres a bit of fun too. ua-cam.com/video/hfPVLP3ZVJ0/v-deo.htmlsi=kjkvszq6wTF-GxcJ
@@AussieDebb Thanks so very much, Deb. I appreciate the link. I will check that one out. I tried to find a live version of this song but couldn't find one. This was a great performance 🤗💗
Whoops I didn't finish it. The sound tech hit record - also the lead guitarist, the phenomenal Brett Garsed, wanted to hear his guitar playing back 😍 Also on that Anthology Rarities album, there's a couple of recordings of John when he was with his second band at the age of 16/17 called Strings Unlimited - I Feel Fine ua-cam.com/video/W_UmaT520_A/v-deo.htmlsi=5NkM0A1fEi-LJUN6. He loves the Beatles.
Hi Sue, if you're gonna take a trip down under then i can recommend Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, Midnight Oil, Divinyls (one of my faves), INXS (of course) and Men at work just to mention a few.
Great pick today John absolutely holds his own in vocal and golden mane department I love Led Zeppelin and their first 3 albums are classic But when you drop the needle on Led Zep 4 and Black Dog kicks in well ! That could be no other band !! They truly found their sound Check out Dread Zepplin s version of Black Dog , its the best Dread Zeppelin are a reggae band with an Elvis Impersonator as lead singer who cover Led Zeppelin song
@jessem470 I just watched a video of them performing Black Dog before I saw your link. That was hilarious. They are comedians....all looking like hippies except "Elvis"...very funny. Thanks for that Jesse 😂💙
Not only is John amazing, his band and back-up singers are just as amazing. All together, they are absolutely phenomenal. ❤❤
