This beautiful man has recently gone through the most horrible thing he doesn't sing due to cancer in the throat area which has devastated him and all his fans he has pulled through at a cost . He is honoured by all Australians . We love him there will never be another person come close to our John . Bless you John and thank you for all the music you have given to us Aussies ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
For so long no one wanted to put their label near him. Then Glen Wheatley took over managing him and there was no stopping the 2 of them. Unfortunately John was diagnosed with oral cancer in August 2022 he is doing well but I don’t think we will ever hear him sing again. So it fantastic that people like you are keeping his voice out there for a new lot of people to appreciate how great his voice was.
Thank goodness for Glen Wheatley, because without him, we might never have seen the best of John Farnham. In his early career, Farnham was unfairly typecast due to poor management, which left him on the verge of fading into obscurity. But then Glen Wheatley stepped in, recognizing the untapped potential in Farnham's extraordinary talent. It wasn't just Glen's belief that made the difference-it was the unwavering support of his wife, who stood by his side and encouraged him to take a chance on Farnham. Together, they gave Farnham the platform he needed to truly shine. The result? A legendary career that might never have happened if not for the faith and determination of Glen Wheatley and his wife.
@GarySargent-t5q Glen and Gaynor mortgaged their house, so strong was their belief in John ... and in doing so, gave Australians the best performer we have ever had. Such a wickedly funny man, but a true gentleman. Live him to bits!
John is not only one of the world’s most incredible singers, he is also kind and very funny. Do yourself a favour and watch him sing ‘HELP’ with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra… it will give you goosebumps!🇦🇺🥰♥️
If this recording was done in 2003, then John would have been about 54, and still sounding so good. Now (2024) John has just faced the biggest challenge of his life, cancer of the mouth. We all love John and wish him the very best in his long road to recovery.

I remember the first time I heard John Farnham sing "The Voice" it was unbelievable the strength and depth of his vocals. This number is also up there as the best. I don't think there is an Aussie who doesn't love his songs and we are devastated that his throat cancer has taken that from him and us. We love him, he has given us so much joy with his music, and he is a great guy on top of that.

Thanks for another great reaction to our John, Mike. It's impossible to fault John's vocals at any age. He started off with a great voice that just got better and better over the years. I get chills every time I hear him performing this song. Although most people seem to prefer this performance, and I love it, too, I actually prefer him performing it in the Whispering Jack concert. Regardless of which version everyone prefers, both of them are mind blowing.
It's John Farnham! Whispering Jack! An Aussie icon. We love him. He came out of the same era as Helen Reddy. Americans adopted Helen, but you left John for us. Thankyou. I'm Aussie by the way.
This live performence with him will allways be one of my favorite. His vocal range is from another planet. Uniqe is not even close to describe his greatness ❤
John never fails to hit the notes or the emotional spot. He nails it. His version of the Beatles “Help” gives whole new meaning to the song, and then there’s his classic, “You’re the Voice.” That’s an anthem.
John does not need musical accompaniment. His voice is an instrument. I only met him once, and he was just a boy then, but he has never changed, humble, sweet, genuine and talent personified. We are all growing and changing our entire lives and sometimes we can love someone but we can’t live with that person and still be happy and as we all only have one life, you have to continue on your journey through life without leaving bad feelings behind on either side, especially among the other people in your lives. I am older than all my brothers and I love them, but I couldn’t live with them. We have all grown up and have our own feelings and opinions and when recalling our childhood it is obvious we each have our own reality as we each experienced it and the memories we held on to and treasured.
John Farnham, always gave %100 at every single concert and every single song. I have been to may concerts and have all his albums, he is the most crystal clear singer and performer ever. Every single person who hears him feel the same.
And just to add to John's Bio he is a high-level Cutting horse competitor and breeder, and an all-round great bloke. I Bumped into him at a cutting comp and we chatted for a few minutes during which I thanked him for the many years of entertainment he provided, and he was almost embarrassed what a humble guy.
You are right. I think it was written about a relationship breakdown. You can make it fit other scenarios as well, but every word makes more sense with that point of view.
Thanks “son of buck” you can babble about Farnsey anytime.... we always do. Pure talent, charisma, and we just lov❤e him, as he does us, every time he performed

It's John Farnham! Whispering Jack! An Aussie icon. We love him. He came out of the same era as Helen Reddy. Americans adopted Helen, but you left John for us. Thankyou. I'm Aussie by the way.
I think england gave him to us and we love him ❤❤❤
I listen to John Farnham every morning.
It’s a great way to start the day.🇦🇺🇦🇺
This live performence with him will allways be one of my favorite.
Yes, John Farnham is amazing. His work will go on and on. We love him, an amazing performer and human being. Our National Treasure ❤️🇦🇺
Absolutely amazing ❤
Enjoyed your reaction, been a fan of John for 55 years
And just to add to John's Bio he is a high-level Cutting horse competitor and breeder, and an all-round great bloke. I Bumped into him at a cutting comp and we chatted for a few minutes during which I thanked him for the many years of entertainment he provided, and he was almost embarrassed what a humble guy.
Although John & his wife have been out of horses ( or Cutting at least) for some time now.
The break down of a relationship is hard. Great song
John has been extremely ill but is improving everyday. Not sure if he will ever sing again. 😢. He is such a lovely guy.
I like the intro with your truck driving by followed by the Son of Buck screen.
I like you Mike, you Son of a Gun because, unlike the greater majority of American reactors, there are no over reacting histrionics with you. Good onya MIKE.
Thanks Wally
Heya. Yeah, he's an absolute icon in Australia. I love Cold Chisel so hearing this is a real treat. Thanks from a big ol' Aussie Bear. 🐻👍🏽
Love John so much and these reactions to his brilliance ❤❤k
We were a bit spoiled in Oz with some of the acts we could go and see back then.
