- This is a fun project that cost us less than $100. We had never done it before, so we believe anyone can pull this off and end up with a really nice outdoor table (possibly indoor as well). Hope this helps inspire your next creative project.
Thank you for being a great dad!!! Work ethic and ownership are SOOOOO important!
Thank you so much! Not perfect at all, but having fun doing the dad thing either way. Lol
Looks great and nice idea with the benches. Memories that last forever....Great job!
Thank you so much!!!
Very entertaining, and I always love to see families working together.
Thank you!
I love this so much! I have a large spool that I'm wanting to turn into an outdoor gaming table. Using the bottom for stools is such a great idea. Awesome work, guys!
Thank you! Hope you enjoy yours. We have made a ton of coffee tables, kitchen tables and outdoor tables at this point. Love them all.
A friend gave me a smaller spool and this is exactly what I’m wanting to do. Thank you for the awesome video ❤
Thank you. Hope that turns out good.
Great video just boutique my spools and gonna build this table great job and great job on letting you kids get their hands on some great projects
This is a great video ....both my son's have been told they want it they earn it ..... I had a paid job from around 9 years old .... It doesn't hurt to start the journey into manhood with a few quid in ya pocket ...
Thanks for the guidance
Ive just received a massive cable drum and now I know what to do with it 👍
Awesome! Hope yours turns out great.
Thanks for the tips. Starting mine this weekend and I’m going exactly by your tutorial.
Awesome! We did a few and they’re all still standing. Lol
I did not know this drill really well 😂😂😂😂
It's a saw ! ....
Kids make life worth living 😂😂😂✌️♥️
Thank you for sharing I bought a few spools with this idea in mind but I didn’t know where to begin. Now I know! You guys did an amazing job! Can’t wait to start on mine!!
Thank you! Hope yours turns out great!
Came across you video because I am about to build an outdoor take from a large spool as well. Aside from a great video that will help me a lot, I really like your “side note”. I bet you’re a great dad. Great work.
Thank you! Grew up without a dad around in my life, so just trying to do better than what I had. Not close to perfect for sure. Lol
Good luck on your project!
@@TheTrentTribe Sorry to hear this. It looks like your on the right path. God bless.
I like this idea so much I'm going to do it but claim it as my own good job me lol
We have a Buick Enclave that has been used as a truck foi 12 years! Even now that we have a truck my husband is still loading longer materials in our car. That’s because our truck, although quite the beast, only has a short bed.
😂😂😂I say it every time we get long boards. Our son has his big truck now, with a six foot bed. Lol
Looks great guys good job i have one of these was thinking about ideas probably do something like this
Thank you. Hope yours turns out good.
Great job you inspired us to do the same!
Cool! It’s a fun project!
Looks good!
Thank you!
it su expired me was wondering what to do with the cable spool i got. thanks a million. awesome work
Nice job 👍
Thank you! Lots of fun on this one.
HAAAAA...GREAT JOB!!!!!!!...MINT!!!!
Thank you!!!
Muy lindo diseño lo felicito
How much did he charge per table? And thanks for teach me how to do it
Love this. This is exactly the project I have in mind. Was it difficult to transition to cutting the circle after the straight cut? Did you have to do anything special? My first time using a jig saw!
You got this! Just make your circle with a pencil and take your time cutting. If you mess up, it’s character. Lol
Hey great job!! Love it !! Is the table sturdy enough that when you lean on it it's not tipping over from cutting the bottom off ??
Thank you. Actually it is sturdy. We were surprised at how much so. The chairs can be a little wobbly if the spool you use is taller. But overall these turn out to be nice tables that should last a loooong time. Lol
Nice!! Maybe a slight angle to flare the legs out a touch???
Hell good job I want to sell mine , how much did u sell it for. Thanks
What was the height of your benches you made? How many 2x4s did you need of what length? This is awesome!
Hey! We sold that one, so I’m not sure the measurements. But all the spools we did were all different heights, so our way of deciding height was a little crazy. 😂
We would act like we were seated at the spool without a seat and measure from our butt down to the ground. No joke! Then we would base our 2x4 lengths on that. Complicated system right? 😂😂😂
Do you recall the length for the legs on each bench? And angle cut for level?
I don’t. Sorry. Mainly because each table that we’ve done (which has been a dozen or more) has different lengths and angles. The angles are tough to get, unless you’re a geometry wiz, which we are not. Lol
Did you have difficulty cutting through any nails?
Yes. We had to get creative and use a saw zaw with a metal blade. Lol
Do you mind sharing how much you were able to sell it for?
What’s you sell it for?
LOVE IT BUT NOT SHIPPING IT TO HAWAII , LOL
😂That would be a nightmare. Maybe you can make one and save the shipping.
What size was your spool? I have a 5 foot in diameter spool, would that be big enough?
I think that was the size of this one. We’ve done several of various sizes. All of them are basically the same. Hope yours turns out well.
@@TheTrentTribe awesome! I’m a lineman by trade and have always wanted to build something, do you have any issues with being top heavy?
@@cheynejones9536 that’s awesome! Our son-in-law is a lineman as well. Great career choice!!! We do not have any issues with it being top heavy, but I can see where it looks like you would.
What angle did you cut the legs at? Thanks!
We can’t remember what angle that was now. I’m sorry. Those angles (for us at least) was trial error. Lol
We took a scrap piece and tested it out. Went through a few before we got the right one. It all depends on the height of the benches. So basically each one we’ve made have been a little different.
@@TheTrentTribe no problem! I'm halfway on my project, need the legs, ill do a little trial and error too haha, im using your video as reference. 👍
@@FranciscoJavierOutdoors awesome! Hope you enjoy yours. We’ve made a bunch of different sizes. Sold a good many as well.
Awesome job! How much did you end up selling it for?
Thank you. I think we got $300 for those. Probably could have gotten more, but he was making money to save for a truck.
That's fantastic! I'm thinking in same project for my kids thats why I asked.
@@mgarciber1 we put them on Facebook marketplace. Several sold quickly, but they eventually died. We run it as long as we could. Good luck with it.
Would you mind terribly... Pretty please😁...giving the dimensions for the legs.
