    Dude you had me rolling when the bench leg joints were to tight for the stretchers one way, then you turned em around and it was perfect. Sign of a true craftsman

      Далеко не все боги Античности умеют то, что демонстрирует этот чел! Ему осталось подключить компьютер, к нему манипуляторы, рабочие приводы и прихваты, искусственный интеллект в конце концов, чтобы ни к чему не прикасаться руками, а оно рождалось из дерева, как Афродита из пены морской - само!

    My wife wanted that wood tile look for flooring in our home living room & hallway leading to the bedrooms.. Took alot blood sweat & beers 🍻 but we got it done after a few weeks..I layed it down like tile using a special floor adhesive with the recommended notched trowel. Used fine saw & sanding dust mixed with a shellac for grout & knot filler. Rented a floor sander to smooth it out then hit it with a couple coats of walnut stain followed by one coat of wax free shellac & finally finished it off with a couple coats of Bona Traffic HD commercial satin, it's always a hit with guests who see it for the 1st time. Even repeat visitors just zone out starring at all the wood grain & knot patterns..

      That sounds sound pretty awesome. I do all my own work and I can’t imagine the level of tedious detail in that shit lol

    • @50DesotoCoupe
      @50DesotoCoupe 2 роки тому +5

      @@TheBooze13 The milling process was no joke, laying it down was probably the most time consuming part I'm kinda OCD so the details is all I look at.. Not too many knots in a given area making sure the grain was random looking & measure the fill in cuts along walls.. Once I got to grouting and sanding it was smooth sailing..

      Definitely had a awesome plan but the execution was horrific!! Just look at the mortises being far to long (you can still them with cat playing), all the fitting are either slack or too tight (look when he turned the legs around cause they did fit, then they nearly fell over once swapped around),and he’d screwed long grain to cross grain with far too many screws. Absolutely no allowance for expansion. Piss poor joinery skills in my eyes. I think I could do better with a screwdriver and a rock!

Depending on the work it was originally sourced for you can have enough good lengths and conditions to be useful for a project like this but surplus to its original use.

      i feel your pain. i really feel it.
      home improvement had always gotten in my way.
      my shop sits idle like yours.
      so when will it be time to get in there if life keeps getting in the way.
      it’s like always waiting and thinking about it but can’t get there. i get angry, do you get angry?
      SO WHEN ?

    Nice of you have a shop full of all the proper wood working tools and machines...looks a bit labor intensive... If you charged by the hour to build it a lot of folks couldn't afford it , but it is a very nice piece.
