    Awesome work! Finally getting around to making one of my own! Love this fire pit idea, did you fill in the decorative openings in the fire bowl with the caulk?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 роки тому

      Hey Justin! Thanks so much for the kind words! I did not fill in the openings with the caulk. I just used it as a bonding agent and fire block of sorts. Best of luck with your project! 👍🏻

    Thank you for sharing your very good idea! Is that meant for cooking? Have you used non-toxic stain ? I ‘d like to build something like this, I’m just worried about insulation problem, you know there is that propane tank just below, what temperature do you get in the closet under the top?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 роки тому +1

      Hey BigMacheteBM! Thanks for checking out my channel. I don’t use this for cooking. It’s just for hanging out, relaxing and setting drinks on haha. It doesn’t get super hot and the bowl is made for this exact purpose. I just added a structure around it. Best of luck!

    I love the idea, I just got one of these this morning. The question is, should I maybe put a concrete filling where the fire bowl will be like a lining ifor extra safety. Have you had any issues?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 роки тому

      Hey Steffani, thanks for the kind words and for checking out my channel! I don’t think a concrete filling will be necessary. I used that fire block material (in the tube) just to be safe and haven’t had any issues. Best of luck with your project!

    This totally looks like something I can build myself I’m not a master carpenter either, but I really like the idea of having a fire table big enough to eat around and not just having enough room for a glass of wine or a beer. Can you tell me the exact height, so that the tank fits underneath the bowl thank you very much for this video. What an awesome project.

    Nice job! Do you have any problem with the wood getting hot around the top?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 роки тому

      Hey Bama Outdoors! Thanks for the positive feedback. I haven’t had any problems. I used the heat block caulk just in case and it’s working fine for me 👍🏻

    I like this. How would you do the door differently? I’m not a carpenter either, just decent. I’ve been racking my brain trying to think of a decent way to make it a bit more rigid but I can’t think of anything better than what you did.

      Hey Matt! Thanks for checking out my channel. I’m not totally sure haha. Maybe add some extra braces or cross beams to firm it up a little? If you come up with something, please let me know! 👍🏻

      Use long heavy duty brace straps instead of a bunch of little ones it'll make the door way less flimsy. Aside from that the door looks great!

    Also, I would like to know why you cut the top circumference down is there an actual structural reason or could it be left the original width for a bigger table again thank you and I can’t wait to start building

      Hey Rob! I thought it would look better with a smaller tabletop and it fits my space a bit better. Thanks again and you can definitely make this! One viewer left a comment about using liquid nails to make the door less floppy. It’s a great idea and something you might consider for your build 👍🏻

    Do you happen to know the size the hole was you cut to fit the fire pit in the top?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 роки тому

      Hey Cara, thanks for checking out my channel! The fire bowl from Amazon is 19” in diameter, so I’d say the hole is around 17-18”.

    Awesome fire pit idea!! Quick question.. About how much or many pounds of the rock did you put in the bowl? Found a 10lb bag on Amazon and wasn’t sure if I needed that much. Thank you for sharing!

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Donna thank you so much for the kind words! Hmmm… I’d have to check the exact weight, but the rocks came with the bowl that I ordered (link is in the description). If you ordered the same Outland Living bowl, you should be all set! Hope that helps!

    I'm curious about the vent openings on the firebowl it self do the flames not touch the reel underneath or how did you manage those? Just wondering if it could cause a fire underneath from the vent holes?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  10 місяців тому

      Hey Ricky! You could always block the openings if that is a concern. Thanks for watching! 👍

    What about the holes in the fire pit? Is there a risk of the flames going through them?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  9 місяців тому

      Hey! I haven’t had any problems. But you can seal them off if it’s a concern👍🏻

    You are the mountain buck diy guy.Ok to make that door a lot stiffer and more ridged get what is called liquid nails,it goes in a caulking gun.Caulk up all the seams on the door inside and outside,then shut the door and let it cure up completely,that will fix it.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  Рік тому

      Hey Southern Preacher! Good call on the liquid nails! I’ve used that before, but didn’t think of it for this project! Thanks! 👍🏻

    That was a good job doing that doing that but I'm sorry but I felt like you worked too hard on that and the beginning of the video the table already had a strong base on it. So there was no need to make cut new ones all you had to do was take off the bottom take outake out half the metal rods on one side and cut the beams and rods put the rods back in to the top take out the other side cut those boom your table is strong again that would have been my method anyway, for a shorter table that would have been the easiest method to do it you could have still used hinges for the door to place for the propane tank in.
