Apple did a really good job improving the cameras, really makes the iPhone X cameras look bad comparatively. Credit should be given where its due. However, still not worth the price. The Note 9 is on par with XS and easily wins in low light and slow motion, but Samsung really needs to work on its front facing camera and skin tones and improve HDR. Not to mention Note 9 camera is one of the most versatile smartphone cameras with pro mode and other features.
Go into your camera settings and turn HDR to On instead of just Auto (on rear and front cam). That way all images will have great dynamic range like a DSLR/Pixel. It also improves the front cameras dynamic range and quality on faces.
Note 9 is a hell of a beast
I dont know that I agree fully. All I can see is what is represented in the video and apart from that one area where the selfie made the clouds ridiculously bright on the Note 9, it did a good job. My problem is that I used to work in the Printing Industry. A PMS chart is the golden rule they go by so that the shade of blue, for example, the customer wants is the one they get exactly. That means that if your eyes were sharper than mine and we looked at the same blue, I may see something slightly different to you but the PMS chart nails it exactly. I would like to see MrWhoseTheBoss shirt colour pinned down by a PMS chart so I can be sure that the blue he says it is either shows up right or not on all those phones. What point is there to using the phone to take serious shots or even happy holiday snaps if the colours you remember arent the ones on the photo?

To be honest both cameras are absolutely amazing. It all comes down to software preference, iOS or Android. And please, don't hate on the one if you like the other.

Nice video! Even if apple has very good cameras and camera software I'd still go with another phone. I just don't like how apple stresses out their "premium" idea. If I buy a phone for almost 2 thousand dollars I want everything to be included in the box, but this kind of behaviour towards there customers just has to be boycotted. Sorry apple, you lost me as a customer.

@@lamurcribb985 actually I agree with you on that topic. I always liked iOS (I had an iPhone, an iPod touch and even now I love my old macbook air from 2014). What I don't like is how apple still thinks that there phones are the best and most premium on the market. Back in the good old apple days I could understand people buying there devices because you really got more for your money. Also I'm not saying that the xs and the xs max are trash phones (spoilers : they aren't). I just don't like how apple keeps thinking their superiority justifies overpriced phones and poor customer treatment..
No fast charger and no dongle. They remove these things only for you to pay for it separately and yet still increases the price of their phones. If you can't see that Apple is taking you for a spin, then no one can help you. Every other manufacturer gives you these things and at half the price of the iPhone. As you can see from this video... what are you really paying for? The Note 9 performs 7/10 better than the iPhone and when it didn't, it was a near tie.
That iPhone XS tho...improving what we thought was already good. I was waiting to see comparisons between iPhone X vs XS Max to decide which one will be my next upgrade. Samsung for its users does a good job too. Guess the XS Max is my next phone. 👍🏼

I feel the evolution from iPhoneX to XS. Especially the sky taken with XS is beautiful. However, I think that what I took in Note 9 is a good balance overall.

Akasuna No Sasori the xs is faster than the note 9 in most aspects especially the camera except and the only downsides of the iphone xs is that it doesn't have a pen which people rarely use unless you need to draw something or have a keynote in that case you can just use the phone to change the slides
i have an imac, macbook pro, and so on..but i do not like an iphone. i tried them all, but i really do not like them. i definitely prefer samsung...it is only my personal preference. that's all.

as a big Samsung fan i have to say wow, just wow that Xs Max's camera is simply amazing! typically the samsungs would win in that regard or it's come down largely to personal opinion but not really this time tho.....yeah, the Samsung still beat the X and is better in video, detail and lowlight, but generally the Xs max is better....what do u guys thinks ( *NO SAMSUNG FANBOYS OR ISHEEP PLS* )

iPhone Xs Max: better shadow and highlight processing, slightly better HDR, audio is debatable
Samsung Galaxy note 9: better lowlight, greater detail and superior video all-round!

Why not use pixel? Note9 is not really know for having the best camera. Especially when it comes to hdr
cuz google only sold 3.9million pixel 2's. its not flagship material but overpriced crap. camera is all the pixel is good for, and barely anyone bought it. no one looks that phone up as much as samsung and iphone.
Also, you can side load some of the Pixel software for the Camera...

@@kaptain1477 it's over saturated. It looks too bright. Many people like the more realistic look, instead of contrasting the colors to look brighter.
I feel like the note 9 photos you took were shot carelessly. I have a note 5 and the camera is great at day time and much brighter than some of the photos you took on the note 9.

SuperSaf TV also did a camera comparison and his findings were basically identical. The iPhone’s bokeh edge detection, colors and dynamic range is indeed better than the Note 9’s. But, the Note 9 prevails at sharpness, low light, slow mo and video stabilization. What’s kind of an ironic bummer is that even though you can have 1TB of storage on the Note 9, you can only record up to 5 minutes of 4K60 video at a time.
It's because of the phone going f2.4 in daylight and not being f1.8 like the iPhones or F1.5

@@TheRealUSArmy Disagree. Amazing camera, battery life, not to mension performance, are both extremely good. iPhone is also more optimized than my previous android phone. It's worth its value. But when an Android user gets an iPhone, then all of a sudden their expectations skyrocket.

The Xs has an amazing camera but truly was expecting a little more with the new sensor. The note 9 held its ground super well considering its camera is from the S9+ early 2018.

@Lockonese pathetic is what apple charges their customers, 850€ you get headphone Jack AKG headphones, s pen, quick charger and a usb to type c dongle, and you can use the phone as a desktop. Can you say the same about a 1099€ iPhone? ... No. So yes I was expecting a little more.

Have to say, I was most impressed by note 9. Except for the selfie (which Samsung phones have always been kinda bad at) note 9's pics were were pretty much always on par with iP Xs and in some cases even better. Anyway, all 3 of these are absolutely beasts but yeah the advancements on iPhone Xs and Note 9 is quite visible!
aswin ottapilavil Samsung is no longer bad at selfies. You are talking about s5 and prior but after s6 they improved and proved themselves as smartphones with quality cameras compared to other phones
@@theflippingcoin975 actually got an S7 edge and sister got an S8. The selfies are really soft in both devices, iPhones does a better job in proper lighting (but again has a tendency to over expose). But again from this video as well, I think iPhone Xs did a slightly better job in selfies than Note 9, but it's definitely gotten a lot sharper.
@@aswinottapilavil495 Yes, I have an S7 edge and I can agree with that statement, it's like having beauty mode always on which has it's advantages (hiding face defects) but produces a slightly unrealistic image, would have much rather it to be sharp then have the option to enable or disable beauty mode manually, as for the back camera though, it's really good and doesn't cease to amaze me in 2018.
