Ghost this year's iphone is almost the same as the X. Only difference is better internals and screen. That's about it. But the camera did look pretty good
Apple did a really good job improving the cameras, really makes the iPhone X cameras look bad comparatively. Credit should be given where its due. However, still not worth the price. The Note 9 is on par with XS and easily wins in low light and slow motion, but Samsung really needs to work on its front facing camera and skin tones and improve HDR. Not to mention Note 9 camera is one of the most versatile smartphone cameras with pro mode and other features.
Go into your camera settings and turn HDR to On instead of just Auto (on rear and front cam). That way all images will have great dynamic range like a DSLR/Pixel. It also improves the front cameras dynamic range and quality on faces.
I dont know that I agree fully. All I can see is what is represented in the video and apart from that one area where the selfie made the clouds ridiculously bright on the Note 9, it did a good job. My problem is that I used to work in the Printing Industry. A PMS chart is the golden rule they go by so that the shade of blue, for example, the customer wants is the one they get exactly. That means that if your eyes were sharper than mine and we looked at the same blue, I may see something slightly different to you but the PMS chart nails it exactly. I would like to see MrWhoseTheBoss shirt colour pinned down by a PMS chart so I can be sure that the blue he says it is either shows up right or not on all those phones. What point is there to using the phone to take serious shots or even happy holiday snaps if the colours you remember arent the ones on the photo?
To be honest both cameras are absolutely amazing. It all comes down to software preference, iOS or Android. And please, don't hate on the one if you like the other.
I feel like the note 9 photos you took were shot carelessly. I have a note 5 and the camera is great at day time and much brighter than some of the photos you took on the note 9.
SuperSaf TV also did a camera comparison and his findings were basically identical. The iPhone’s bokeh edge detection, colors and dynamic range is indeed better than the Note 9’s. But, the Note 9 prevails at sharpness, low light, slow mo and video stabilization. What’s kind of an ironic bummer is that even though you can have 1TB of storage on the Note 9, you can only record up to 5 minutes of 4K60 video at a time.
Because it's obvious Pixel 2 will destroy all 3 of em in nights sleep. Besides, at that price point the portrait on the Iphone is a joke. Literally. Wtf Apple?

Nice video! Even if apple has very good cameras and camera software I'd still go with another phone. I just don't like how apple stresses out their "premium" idea. If I buy a phone for almost 2 thousand dollars I want everything to be included in the box, but this kind of behaviour towards there customers just has to be boycotted. Sorry apple, you lost me as a customer.

No fast charger and no dongle. They remove these things only for you to pay for it separately and yet still increases the price of their phones. If you can't see that Apple is taking you for a spin, then no one can help you. Every other manufacturer gives you these things and at half the price of the iPhone. As you can see from this video... what are you really paying for? The Note 9 performs 7/10 better than the iPhone and when it didn't, it was a near tie.

i have an imac, macbook pro, and so on..but i do not like an iphone. i tried them all, but i really do not like them. i definitely prefer samsung...it is only my personal preference. that's all. (live and let live 😉😉😉)

Akasuna No Sasori the xs is faster than the note 9 in most aspects especially the camera except and the only downsides of the iphone xs is that it doesn't have a pen which people rarely use unless you need to draw something or have a keynote in that case you can just use the phone to change the slides
I feel the evolution from iPhoneX to XS. Especially the sky taken with XS is beautiful. However, I think that what I took in Note 9 is a good balance overall.

I think I'll pick the Xs, the reason is simply because samsung goes for the asian trend with you can have filters that makes your face white and it doesn't look natural af. Iphone is more natural after all it is known for its "allegedly" good camera

This is a very well done video. I did a selfie cam compare btw iPhone 8 and the XS. It's not even close. I did not think the camera would be that far ahead of the X or 8. It's really that good. If you're into selfie shots, the XS and Portrait Mode is amazing.
As an iPhone XS user, smart HDR isn't as good as i hoped. Also, the blurring of your shirt in the DoF tests, was something I've noted myself too. Disappointing, but easily fixed with a software adjustment I think. Previously owned a GS7 Edge, and the camera over sharpening and over saturation annoyed me. I see they haven't fixed over sharpening. XS still won it for me though. Panoramic mode still owns everything in any phone. Stitching is perfect in iOS.

I'd say Note 9 has better video and better low-light. iPhone has better front-facing and portrait. Daylight back camera is about even. I still prefer the Note 9 given these things

I agree,iPhone X had a huge welcome but it failed to perform as expected. But Apple realized it and nailed it in the iPhone X s. Hats off to all the three phones to take photos like 24 Megapixels while having 12 Megapixel camera.
Maybe you're blind. iPhone'sDaylight photos looks way better than note 9. But note 9 killed iPhone with its wide aperture in those night tine shots. Anyways these two phones are nowhere close to pixel 2. 😎
You should re-do this comparison soon when Note 9 has had the camera update. In Germany Note 9 is about to get major camera software update (N960FXXU2ARI9) which will role out world wide. It will improve HDR accuracy, brightness, even less noise in low light and better facial exposure in direct sunlight.
I highly recommend for people who have a Note 9 or S9+ to go into camera settings and change HDR from Auto to ON (on both front and rear cameras) that way you always get nice, dynamic photos on the rear and front cameras.
Live focus on the Galaxy Note9 is amazing! It blurs gradually according to how far the object is unlike the iphone xs where you loose details in the foreground.

I'd say Note 9 has better video and better low-light. iPhone has better front-facing and portrait. Daylight back camera is about even. I still prefer the Note 9 given these things

i still prefer the note 9 as i dont like very bright and life like videos. I also dont like the XS's softening

I agree,iPhone X had a huge welcome but it failed to perform as expected. But Apple realized it and nailed it in the iPhone X s. Hats off to all the three phones to take photos like 24 Megapixels while having 12 Megapixel camera.

You should re-do this comparison soon when Note 9 has had the camera update. In Germany Note 9 is about to get major camera software update (N960FXXU2ARI9) which will role out world wide. It will improve HDR accuracy, brightness, even less noise in low light and better facial exposure in direct sunlight.
I highly recommend for people who have a Note 9 or S9+ to go into camera settings and change HDR from Auto to ON (on both front and rear cameras) that way you always get nice, dynamic photos on the rear and front cameras.

Live focus on the Galaxy Note9 is amazing! It blurs gradually according to how far the object is unlike the iphone xs where you loose details in the foreground.

Shaurya P I think the Pixel 2 sold a few million and compared to Samsung and Apple the Pixel is irrelevant. Shame and am hoping the Pixel 3 offers more than just a good camera and vanilla Android.
