Using the corner to carve trenches into cardboard is the one feature I've been waiting for in a flagship smartphone. Samsung have really outdone themselves this time! ;-)

Love the message at the end. No matter how good a phone sounds or looks, there is almost no real reason to pre-order unless they are giving you a sweet sweet deal. I am glad you are asking your viewers to wait even though you did give a glowing review of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
It’s possibly the best advice any reviewer could give. I want to see what it’s like before I take the risk. I’d also like to see how the Exynos and Snapdragon chipsets compare.
Thanks man. Your videos helped me decide on the S22 Ultra. A friend stumbled on the zoom capabilities of the S21 Ultra when he took a shot of the moon. I tried that with my S22 Ultra, and I could see the moons' crater at 25.7x and I was surprised

@@leonardodavinci7425 Yes, S9+ here, expect battery and cracked screen it still feels way smoother tha day one actually thanks to One UI 2.0 over Samsung Experience from 2018. Although I'm probably gonna upgrade to S22.
Always make me giggle when reading comment like this because they think they're the special one by saying a common sense every people know, why buy a new phone when the old isn't broken? Also no one push you to buy a new one.
Brilliant video, thank you! Most tech videos just repeat all the specs and features you can find for yourself, plus a few reactions and personal observations. I love how you picked out the key points then explained why they mattered in a really clear and accessible way.
I dunno not to sound like a hater or anything I feel like this guy just follows what the ignorant forum users are saying. I had to stop the video once he started to (finally) praise Samsung's UI and showed TouchWiz as when it was "bad" even though Samsung changed to OneUI since the S8 (5 years ago.) And OneUI has been leading the development charge since then. It's just too much of a coincidence that he's praising OneUI now at the same time the general consensus of it has been shifting in the Android forums. I watch reviews for honest insightful thoughts not just regurgitating forum opinions.
Still finding it really hard to replace my S10+. Headphone jack, SD card slot, 1TB storage on board, 12GB of RAM, I much prefer the pill camera style in the right corner, processing/graphics are still competitive, etc. I'm really only missing the S pen, a slight camera update, and a degraded battery
I'm new to trading and I find it difficult using these strategies well. Where can I find a legit broker? that will manage my account and also teach me how to trade
i just updated to s22 ultra from an s10e and oh my god it is like night and day! the screen is so smooth, the refresh rate is insane, and the s pen makes it actually really good for quick digital art!
Still using a Note 9 and it's chugging along great. Smartphone manufacturers have really run out of features worthy of upgrading for. The camera is better but tbh I'm perfectly happy with the pics the 9 takes. Unless you are playing demanding games, upgrading is merely a fashion statement at this point.
Me, too, except 2 S pens now have broken their little eject springs, and are almost impossible to find and replace.. I use the pen a lot, and was sad to hear that the pen housing mechanism is the same as for the Note 9. I will skip this next version and look for a pen that a) I can trust works for longer than a few months, and b) is not hugely expensive to replace, or c) is more easy to find.
You are absolutely correct. Smartphones can only get so good and after some point, the upgrade may seem pointless...But I hope they keep adding interesting things that will be upgrade worthy....
My Note 5 is still working well after all this time. The battery is getting tired, drains and charges kinda fast. But I'm not that much of a smartphone user, just make calls mostly. Gettn old, it's tough to see things held in the hand and touch screens don't always respond to my fingers, callouses make skin less conductive. Just wait kids, you'll hit 50 too, and things start to go. Vision starts to get worse, you realize all the new stuff is made for people 20-30 years younger...
Been a fan of Samsung for a long time. I'd love to get this as soon as possible, only issue is I just have to wait for comparisons between Snapdragon and Exynos versions so I'll know which is going to be the real beast.
when are you ever going to use the extra speed? s20 is still very capable for gaming, texting, watching videos, editing, etc. what are you doing that you need a lot more power? nothing that phones are doing take advantage of this power anymore tbh. unless you’re editing and colour grading 8k raw video and exporting it to make movies. what’s the point???
All I can say is that my friend got the Snapdragon version shipped to the UK and my exynos version was faster for most things lol, we tested them side by side and mine on the same settings was ever so marginally faster, loading games up, refreshing tiktok, doing a Google search, you know, a bunch of every day stuff, we were both on the same WiFi at the same time and an identical distance from the router and I was just about faster (I'm talking a second max) on everything except loading a game up, which I was like a tenth of a second slower, so I don't think there's any real difference, it's certainly not anything to be concerned about. Another thing I would say is that a year on my phone is considerably faster than his, but thats probably due to all the trashy apps he's downloaded lol

S22 ultra I've had it when it came out. The is a very good phone. I!m looking at the S24 as a possible next cell phone! I'm 78yr's old and enjoy new things and a challenge to learn the new improvements! This old phone was challenge at first. Time for more challenges! Hopefully I won't be dissatisfied.
Thanks dude, the biggest reason for me to wait another year or so to change phones is that with the latest update my note 10 plus looks and feels exactly like the s22. Throw a new case on my phone and it will feel new for me.
Update with no microSD slot and RAM of this capacity isn't as complete update as I'd personally expect. But, I'll let my conclusions come after i get enough info and try it personally...
I'm so glad phones are finally getting more and more colors! But, it's still sad that most people go with the boring black or white. Dark blue can be equally elegant and subtle
I love the square edges and that's one of the reason behind Note series success. And I agree with the point of eco conscious point. Charger should come in the box. This is all just for name sake. This is the strategy to earn more. (Making small box of phone reduce exporting cost, Buying adaptor seperately give chance to earn more, Removing AKG earphones will make users to buy their buds)
I bet it's so sharp it hurts ur hands. Like the uncomfortable iPhone design. You'd be begging for a case. Imagine it drops on you while laying down. Ouch.
Upgraded my oneplus 7 to the S22 Ultra, quite the big leap I wasn't expecting. Exceptional photos and videos and battery life. As well as they have improved on the one ui experience. Oxygen OS has been a disappointment lately thats why I changed brands and I'm glad I did
That's what im going to do, moving from a OnePlus 6t to S22 ultra, although i wish i could get the snapdragon in UK than the exynos even if I won't really notice that much of a difference
Great review overall, but I specifically love the logical dismantling of the "Eco Warrior" narrative flagship phone companies are trying to use to sell you less for more. To begin with these companies are basically saying "we're harming the environment, so you (consumers) need to pay the extra cost to offset that." Then there's the fact that realistically none of these changes impact much. Why don't they include a free case made from recycled materials? Why not add back the headphone jack so I don't need to buy an adapter (more packaging and waste)? Why not make the phone easier to repair so I'm not inclined to throw it away and buy another? Why not do anything actually remotely helpful to the environment and stop using that excuse as a way to charge consumers more for less?
While there's definitely more they can do (and I do hate corporate favoritism), I think his "dismantling" was wrong in this video. The waste coming from chargers is primarily due to the amount of chargers people throw out, since most people don't upgrade year to year. Sure, this new phone CAN charge faster now, but many consumers don't even have 25W chargers still because they kept older ones, and they most likely won't even know. Samsung definitely made the right move in removing the charger from the box, in my opinion. As for the fishing net material, who cares if it's weaker than the old materials? It's still a step in the right direction and sacrificing a little bit of durability is entirely worth that tradeoff. I'm just thankful they're doing anything at all, to be honest, because most companies simply aren't. Either way, you're right that more needs to be done. They can and SHOULD be doing more, but I think the reasoning in this video is bad.
@@ShadowlessDeath47 thats a terrible move. 1200 for the basline and you cant enjoy the new charging if you don't buy the new charger. cant have anything these days
@@ShadowlessDeath47 I think some people are overestimating the number of people that have more than 1 charger per phone. I for one and most of people I know give away or sell the charger along with the older phone. Who sells or gives away a phone without a charger ?? And even if they do, the other person may not have it and they end up buying it instead of you. If you have an old 15W charger from a broken phone or something, you are not using a new feature on your new phone, ie the fast 45W (or more) charging that saves you a lot of time. Buying new charger will cost you more than if bundled with the phone and from environment perspective you are paying for extra packaging and shipping and it adds up if millions of people do it. People have bought into the no charger thing without much thought, but its just another way for brands to save money (while not reducing the price of the phone), and offloading the extra cost to their customers, while pretending its for the environment. Its a win win for them, loss for consumers and questionable (if any) impact on the environment, unless someone can prove otherwise. "It's still a step in the right direction" - Adjusting to scale, its the equivalent of me saying I'm doing my part for the environment and picking up an empty soda can in my room and throwing it in the trash. They are just using the "save the environment" movement to check a box, while doing the absolute minimal insignificant thing they can. You can even argue its worse than doing nothing, because most people wont know how insignificant this step is and will presume companies are doing their part and will think twice before saying big companies dont care for environment. Marketing is just magical like that.
@@GooseCrack and you get only 8 gb of ram and 128 gb of rom. And no earphones in the box. Nothing, basically. I'm still surprised we still get the usb cable (watch how this too disappears a few years later)

It is nice to see how you have improved over the years while incorporating all the feedback. You are brutally honest, extremely fair, highly engaging/captivating, and entertaining.
I think when it comes to the phone specs, companies have reached a stage of saturation. In my opinion, no one needs to upgrade his phone for at least 5 years, and only if has a need. The difference in tech specs is not making that big difference in daily use. Most people mainly use phones for calling and some games, some photos, and that's it. I have not upgraded my phone for 3 years now and I have a happy life, my phone is doing the job and I get used to it even it had some limitations, but I like my phone and the phone performance is not the highest, but it does the job.
I got the Z fold 3 5G on a 3 year contract banking on this logic, I use it for cloud gaming Xbox for about 6 hours a day and it's brilliant, cameras are great although I find the portrait mode on my iPhone X works better, overall love it and don't anticipate any innovation mind blowing enough to make me regret my choice, let's hope I'm right
I know this is a popular line of thinking, but for me, the faster refresh rate matters a ton. I have an S21 and a OnePlus 6. The OP6 feels choppy by comparison because of the low refresh rate (and possibly other factors). I agree that once you 120hz or above, the human eye probably won't notice major differences.
Ya but some people like to rock that new phone every 6 months. Heck I read comment of people already trading s21 ultra for the new one even though there's barely any different. Some people just like to feel like they living better than us.
What you have to remember is that they have just rebranded the Note series to now be the flagship S series. People that have the note like that square corner shape. This is why they left the shape the same as the Note 20 Ultra
@@smartlearning6390 Not fully. The note series is gone, so its likely that the ultra of the s series will now be a note. But only the ultra. The base and plus are still the standard s series
Sounds like a great phone, and I might consider grabbing this phone whenever the s23 drops. My current phone should be at about a level where it needs to be swapped out by then. And the price should have dropped enough to make it more or less worth it.
Unfortunately they have started to be greedy and pull the old line back. Who knows what they do with those phones... Probably give them for free to 3rd world countries...

First time watching one of your videos and I'm very very VERY impressed! subbed! (9 months later I'm buying this phone cause it's on sale black Friday) can't wait to get mine!
Loving it already! These phones have become so advanced in their technology and the camera looks so awesome. Appreciate the nice video effects too. Thanks Arun!
Yeah, although they're actually removing a lot of features the last few years. Back in 2018 they had over 500 pixels per inch and now we're down to just over 300. On most of their flagships they've got rid of the QHD screen, the Samsung pay function, capacitor fingerprint sensor, headphone jack, expandable storage. And now they're gutting 4 GB of RAM from the 128 GB variant of the s22 ultra. So people coming from an S9 are actually going to be losing more features than they're gaining. You gain a bigger camera sensor, some new camera processing tricks, high refresh rate display and a 5G chip. Although I would argue, 5G has very little benefit for most customers and arguably makes the experience worse because the 5G chips run so hot. The 888 and 8 gen 1 get hot enough to cook hot dogs on.
@@michaelcorcoran8768 yeah let's just ignore all the amazing new features the new models have because the almight S9 is so great, clearly a superior phone to the S22 Ultra /s
"They could have made it more repairable or the battery replaceable" - that was rather unfair. Samsung make genuine parts available to us repair centres for a very fair price. They're normally very easy to fit, they even go to lengths to make all screws the same! Genuine battery replacement is £50 and done in 30 minutes btw. Compare this to Apple who will only provide limited parts to authorised repairs who are then in turn not allowed to do most repairs. Their phones use 4-10 different screw lengths and 3 screw heads, often on the same part! Apple even build certain models in a specific way to increase the likelihood of the repairer tearing a ribbon cable. I love your videos, but it really should be time to start highlighting the negatives of the Apple infrastructure.
@@IansWorldTravels not sure of a good place tbh. In general though all leading brands apart from Apple sell us genuine parts (Oppo are very poor at this but getting better). They tend to all be very modular and use 1 screw type. There are some quirks with some models, but we have a "screw you Apple" swear jar and not one for any other brand and that's quite telling when we fix so many phones every day.
@@FIGBVB not really though... he's been an Apple user for a long time - totally fine, me too (and Apple developer) and in general he's good at attempting to keep it impartial, but when making statements during a review it needs to be factual and that was not - this misleads buyers who trust him. When followed immediately by a statement that he uses an iPhone it implies something, whether intentional or not. Our team dual-boot OS and regularly change phone brands for this same reason, hard to advise otherwise. It should really be made very clear that brands like Samsung are exceptional at supporting right to repair, not poor which was implied.
The camera is amazing. The front camera needs work. The pen is nice. The commercial was phenomenal. The phone fits well in the hand. The screen is beautiful. It's not too heavy. It's easy to use one handed. I am still trying to customize mine to very precise settings. It's overly complicated so far trying to get it to do what I want. I'm still worried about my favorite android apps updating. It's a work in progress. Like art. Mr. Boss said it best.
Hey ! The camera quality sucks compared to real (ie: my Nikons) cameras. Its not just the front camera that needs work. The camera has a lot of features but the output is still pewk. I think a much improved sensor is required.
Am I the only one that finds the "sharp" edges a big plus? It makes the phone stand out in the crowd and is immediately recognisable. It's actually one of the things that tipped me over to buy it.
As always I have enjoyed yet another review you have made. Professional, calm, well presented and balanced. Thanks! Also no over hype and 'shouting' like too many presenters, particularly American ones! I own a S 10 and unlike younger users I am not interested in stickers etc just better camera quality! So will look forward to in depth comparison on photos rather than vids between s21 and 22 Ultra
As an iPhone user, I always liked the Note Series. It looks like 22 Ultra could be the one for me to tag with the 13 Pro Max and get the best of both worlds. But why did they cheap out at 8 GB? Hopefully there is a 12 or 16 GB option
@@westenglishwithapar8300 Not an iphone fan but bruh storage is significantly slower than physical ram. That extended ram is gonna be way way slower.

100% agreed and arguably a downgrade considering that they removed a key feature like an SD card slot!
Me, too, except 2 S pens now have broken their little eject springs, and are almost impossible to find and replace.. I use the pen a lot, and was sad to hear that the pen housing mechanism is the same as for the Note 9.

Great points.

3:49 that was completely unexpected 🤣🤣🤣
I think when it comes to the phone specs, companies have reached a stage of saturation. In my opinion, no one needs to upgrade his phone for at least 5 years, and only if has a need. The difference in tech specs is not making that big difference in daily use. Most people mainly use phones for calling and some games, some photos, and that's it. I have not upgraded my phone for 3 years now and I have a happy life, my phone is doing the job and I get used to it even it had some limitations, but I like my phone and the phone performance is not the highest, but it does the job.
Yes i feel its saturated and put a comment too similar to this. They not need to launch new phones every year.
I got the Z fold 3 5G on a 3 year contract banking on this logic, I use it for cloud gaming Xbox for about 6 hours a day and it's brilliant, cameras are great although I find the portrait mode on my iPhone X works better, overall love it and don't anticipate any innovation mind blowing enough to make me regret my choice, let's hope I'm right
I am still rocking my Oneplus 6 and probably will keep it till 2026.

I love your videos, but it really should be time to start highlighting the negatives of the Apple infrastructure.
i mean he did call out apple as well
That's good to know about the repairability of Samsung phones. Where is the best place to learn about the repairability of different brands?

@@westenglishwithapar8300 Not an iphone fan but bruh storage is significantly slower than physical ram. That extended ram is gonna be way way slower. Also I have seen real world tests of a lot of phones with extended ram feature. Changes nothing even while gaming. Such a gimmick and excuse to cut ram and make even more money.
Samsung used to be my favourite brand around the time of S10. Now it's just MOAR MONEH.
iPhone 13 is still the better phone imo.
While everybody else is spending their hard-earned dollars on the new S22 Ultra (which everybody has rights to do, and the 1TB variant will sell out very fast), I'm still rockin' my Note 20 Ultra 5G. To me, it's still a beast and haven't experienced any slowdowns or lags at all. Plus, I love the SD card support for memory expansion.
Yup. I'm not seeing the value in the S22U. It's still $1000 even after you trade in a Note 20 Ultra, for 1TB. Yikes.
Use to upgrade yearly . Got to s10+ not upgraded since. Does everything I need each and everyday every single time. I thought the s22 would of persuaded me to upgrade.. but meh.
damn you're still using that 1000€+ phone from like a year ago, my man is living such a hard life
@@myfakeguuglaccount8307 Exactly. I'm not trading in my Note 20 Ultra 5G at all. I wasn't surprised at the high price of the S22U 1TB variant though, as I knew it was going to be very expensive.
@@kebeiwjwgseywgw5590 U so wrong for that lol. My mom is still rockin' the S10+ too (which is still available) and she loves it. She said, "F the S22 Ultra!" lol.
I just got one of these through work to try and I absolutely love it so far. I've been a iPhone user for a long time but with this device, I'm rarely using my iPhone now
Are you happy for you have samsung, instead an iPhone? And is samsung break down after two or three years later?
@@yagmurefil8632 I still have my iphone, now having the Iphone 14 Pro, I gave the samsung to my mum

4:10 Wow, the quality of Arun's video, back then! Boss for a reason!
2:24 hmm arun got some serious humour!!!
Thanks for the information. I have just received mine 😍 what a wonderful day!
I respect your assessment of the Eco friendly part. It's a nice push for Samsung but as you've stated, they could've done more to really be Eco conscious. Great Video!

Thank you for the video!! the editor has done a great job and your content is actually very useful...appreciate your efforts in creating videos for us. Btw, loved Tim Cook's "That's just incredible!!" 🤣😹

I literally wait for your reviews before going anywhere else at all. Well scripted, well shot, very informative and perfectly produced video. Thanks for this
I came here for the phone review, and ended up getting a very fun & entertaining short story 🤣 You're the best!!! Thank you.
*AMZCMP* is setting the time to change for us dont miss
I'm so excited to have discovered your channel. I love your reviews; everything you explain is concise, clear, and comprehensive. I'm no longer as tech savvy as I was while working (use it or lose it). Watching you I feel technologically relevant, if that makes sense. I subscribed. 🙂

Your unsolicited advice is amusing; you're assuming I've been watching for what? Months? Years?
You know what is said about assuming?
This video is like the best first impressions I've ever seen... the detailed videography and I can clearly see the hours that went into the scripting.... love the phone design a lot and love the video even more! GREAT WORK 👍 👌 👍 👌
My grandfather just bought the S22 ultra and now I'm looking at what it can do!
Autofps makes really sense. I was waiting for it long time. I usally film in 60p. But lowlight conditions crushes the quality. Then I switch back to 30p. Which is annoying, because next time I forget to put it back on 60p. For others this might be stupid, for me it would be helpful.
Lol iphone already has this
what is the p supposed to mean after 60 and 30

One of the best or the best reviewer right now. The enthusiasm, information, quality and the interesting videos, in my opinion the best reviewer.
ngl, been watching a few videos recently and wasn't sure about this guy at starts, but the videos are actually... incredible, just bought a new phone (ssg s21) and in the tech phase. so cheers for the content mate
Great review and super phone, though not too much difference from the 20 Ultra! Good to see the Note series is still alive under another branding.
Tbh this phone was underwhelming much like iPhone. Not many things new on the table besides making it a note series and calling it an S. I used to be excited for Samsung's unpacked event. This time though, it wasn't so.
@@sinister2423 My question is... how would you even improve this phone? It is almost a 10 out of 10 if the software and the chipset work as espected, this is barely upgradeable.
@@sinister2423 like think about it what is there to be improved that much on a phone every year. Phones have basically reached their peak it dont matter which brand. Similar to cars the only thing anyone gonna be excited over is when they start flying.
I'm autistic and ADHD and have trouble watching videos, but yours was easy and fun. I have to say that. It's amazing that I watched it the whole way through without needing to turn sound off and turn on captions. That said, I love that you go into everything in detail, AND include what you don't like. I had no idea about the sustainability part, and I appreciate that you added why you don't think it's enough. You sold me on this phone, thank you!

Finally! A worthy successor to the Samsung galaxy note 20 ultra! I love this phone! Thank you for creating and posting a video about it today!
I have a funny feeling my note 20 ultra will be better then the s22.... They already downgraded the ram from 12gb to 8gb...
Been using my Ultra22 for a month now, and I absolutely love it!! upgraded from a s10+ plus, that one was a beauty 😍 forever samsung user 💜
I was with S8 until this day and still will be until delivery man with S22 ULTRA will knock on my door, within two weeks. Whatever is good or bad with this device it is a step forward for me :D and I am pretty sure I will enjoy S22 U over several next new generations again
Had S7 and loved til it got too hot that mine got stolen.
I want the BLUE S22 ULTRA.
Yeah. I'm upgrading from the Note 8. Can't wait to have this phone!
I also still have the S8, but I'm not sure wether to get the S22 ULTRA, I think the sharp edges will bother me, but the camera alone, on the other side, will be a huge improvement
@@totesflaisch S8 is overall still everything I need, it is just the battery slowly giving up, sometimes shuts down at 50% and is suddenly empty, also non of the following phones really interested me in design or specs, but this cutting board code name S22 Ultra made me want a new one, I love the way it looks, will see about sharp edges, I'll update here once it rips its way out from my pocket ;)
that camera is amazing can't way for your in-depth review of it I'm really considering getting this year's ultra

Am about to set up my brand new S22 ultra tonight so your vids help ! And you're funny!
The attention to detail in your editing is amazing (as always), I mean for example the second "agenda"-icon actually displaying the right phone with the camera layout is just overkill
0:24 "The very first development of NOTE." Haahh I see what you did there
This video is amazing... the transitions the eloquence, the delivery, every shot of production (apart from wow thats incredible) was highly professional. the content was really helpful. normally i do wait for testing to be done but i have pre ordered it. my current phone is glitching...Are you able to do a similar review on the new Samsung s8 tablet
