I wish samsung would remove that whitish tone the camera gives on the skin. If it does away with that and captures the natural skin colour of people, it could seriously rival the pixel phones.
Sebastian 0113 Firstly, before calling someone stupid, check your fucking spelling cause you're making a fool out of yourself (Its you're not your). And secondly, umm, the samsung has a second aperture which the iphone doesn't have? What's your point?
MHK iatb What the fuck? for sunlight? What do you mean? The second aperture is used to get better lowlight shots as seen in the video, it has a primary aperture of 2.4 for day light and 1.5 for night photos. I seriously don't understand what do you mean by "its for sunlight" when you actually use it for low light. Maybe explain?
@@kushtalin9180 IT IS POSSIBLE TO DECREASE THE APERTURE JUST LIKE 👍1.5 TO 2.4 BUT THAT ISN'T POSSIBLE TO INCREASE IT JUST LIKE 2.4 TO 1.5👎 I MEAN 1.5 IS THE PRIMARY APERTURE AS YOU CAN CHANGE IT.
I seriously don’t think Apple users would swap to use Samsung even though the new versions are overpriced. It’s just because iOS is too good to get rid of. Just my personal opinion, though.
Ens you forgot to factor in the profit margin from Apple charging for fast charging bricks and headphone dongles. Profit margin is without a doubt higher for the iPhone. Don’t be a sheep. Be objective.
Chris Yeh in terms of a rough price to value ratio (subjective), you may be right. Fact is when you put the entire package together, the Note does not have any worthy competition. Especially not at that price point
Ens if fast chargers are cheap then why is Apple charging $70 for them 🤔. An objective analysis of the profit margins on these devices would acknowledge the obvious price gouging that Apple is doing here but the sheep in you is strong so you continue to make irrelevant points. The fact is, Samsung packs in a fast charger while Apple charges $70 for one as an accessory. The price of third party fast charges is irrelevant. Last year the headphone dongle was Apple’s best selling “product”. It must also be factored into an objective analysis of profit margin. Again, the price of third party headphone dongles is irrelevant. And before you call me a sheep, I bought the Note 9 and XS Max on day one of their respective releases. Currently typing this on the XS Max.
Great video, but 2 things the note audio and video was much crisper for sure. Selfies iphone wins but over all sharpness is a draw your jacket and zipper teeth much sharper on note 9. Your thoughts
I feel Galaxy all the way .. Selfie at Night was super cool. Auto focus is super fast . Audio was super. Of course Price too :) . Note 9 doing good job overall.
The Note 9 seems to still have the overall advantage here. (Especially in low light which the majority of folks tend to shoot in on average.) But the problem for the iPhone Xs Max, is that the Galaxy S10 is just around the corner and is expected to bring a new camera system. So while Apple closed the gap, their just about to be left behind once again in about 3 ~ 4 months. I would give video a clear win to the Note 9. I would give low light environment shooting like in a bar, or in your home, or all late evening type of photography a clear win to the Note 9 as well. As for full day light, it's much closer and I would call this a rock solid draw. For portrait selfies, the iPhone XS Max gets the win. For video with the selfie camera I would give it to the Note 9. Overall win Galaxy Note 9 which shouldn't be too surprising, as the Galaxy phones have generally been ahead of Apple now since the Galaxy S6 days forward. And now the S10 is right around the corner. It will be fun to see what Samsung brings to the table, as rumors are pointing towards a heavily upgraded main camera and a new wide angle camera for the tenth anniversary phone. (Note 9 has a Dxo Score of 103)
Interesting results this time around. Video: Front facing camera: Note The iPhone has better dynamic range, and slightly better stabilization, but the Note's image was much clearer. 4K30: Note Samsung definitely has a clearer image on both the front and rear facing cameras. However, the iPhone has better dynamic range on both. Stabilization seemed pretty even on the rear facing cameras. The optical zoom on the iPhone looked clearer than the Samsung when viewing the flowers, but when panning to the arch, the Note looked clearer. Interestingly, the dynamic range was better on the Note when using the optical zoom. 4K60: Note The video was a little clearer on the iPhone (most noticeable on the ground, where a lot of the bumps/cracks were not visible on the Note), but the dynamic range was better on the Note. Stabilization was also better on the Note. Autofocus: Draw In this comparison, I think the difference is negligible, but I would like to see a comparison in low light, where the iPhone usually struggles. Slowmo: iPhone The iPhone seemed to have slightly more detail in the 1080p240 slowmo, but the Samsung's colors popped a little more. Pictures: Front facing camera: iPhone Again, the iPhone has much better dynamic range. Oddly, I thought the iPhone actually had better detail as well, although not by much. Front facing Portrait mode: iPhone The iPhone still has better dynamic range and better detail. However, I think the Note did a little better with edge detection. It's more noticeable in the second picture, where the hair at the top was blurred out on the iPhone, but still clear on the Note. Front facing low light: Note Not even close. The Note decimates the iPhone here in all aspects. Rear facing camera: Note (by a hair) This was pretty close, but I think the Note has a slight edge. The pictures on the Note do appear slightly more detailed, but it's hard to tell if they actually are, or if the added contrast is making it look more detailed. But, without editing either image, I think the Note wins. The Note also did slightly better in dynamic range, even if it did lose a little bit of detail in the shadows. Rear facing Portrait mode: iPhone I think the iPhone wins here. Both did great on edge detection, but the dynamic range gives the win to the iPhone, since you can't get those details back in the Note pictures. Rear facing low light: Note Still not even close. Apple needs to figure out how to do low light photography, which is going to require a larger aperture. Overall, I think both are pretty solid. Apple needs to spend the next year working on their low light photography and the video in general. Samsung does a great job in low light, and the only real weakness was dynamic range in portrait mode, so they just need to slowly improve the other areas.
@@nulr are you really gonna make your main point that I've misspelled triggered? How pathetic are you, saying learn to spell? Learn to spell my foot. And for your original comment, no it's really not the truth idiot
To my eyes the Note 9 was the clear winner as far as pictures, videos, and color, with the XS Max taking better pictures when there was a lot of light. As far as sound both very similar, and finally as far as OS is just a matter of preference.
The Samsung had warmer, more pleasing colours. In many shots, the iphone's white balance looks much too cool and unnatural. The only area where the iPhone was a little better was dynamic range. Otherwise, i preferred the note's images. Especially for low light
Don't worry. For an XS Max price, you can get a Note 9 and still have good spare cash left over to buy some sick accessories like proper headphones / speakers u name it.
iPhone has a natural shallow depth of field due to its larger sensor. It’s not a computational effect. The Note 9 has a deep depth of field. Typically this is found in tiny cameras that have small sensors and small optics
If there is a blur in the background, then there are complaints. If there is no blur in the background, then also complaints. In this case skepticism. Is it hard to acknowledge the fact that the iPhone's camera is fantastic? The above was a general comment not meant to you. Well the reason why it's blurred is because of the proximity of the camera to his face. The A12 bionic chip recognizes this object as a face that needs to be focused, due to its proximity to the lens and blurs the background, thereby focusing on the foreground. The note 9 doesn't have this AI to recognize this factor, and hence continues to focus on a wider angle as designed. Which is also a plus factor in low light since wider aperture allows more light to enter the lens, if you noticed, all photos/videos on note 9 are brighter and hence in some cases blown out. It helps in low light though. Perhaps in it's next version they might implement AI for the front facing camera.
Shyam MC There is no AI. Otherwise it would be Portrait Mode for videos, which it is not. iPhone just has a more natural shallow depth of field due to its larger and deeper sensor. A deep DOF, present on the Note 9, is generally found in small cameras, and here I am repeating myself again. iPhone has a large and deep sensor to help it take more professional looking photos in daytime situations. The note has a smaller sensor and an inferior image signal processor. But it does have a duel aperture which is great for steady shots in low light conditions. iPhone has software as an alternative to the dual aperture. You can literally download an app if you want that wide aperture look that the Note provides. And the results can be even better than what the Note produces. Think of the Huawei P20 smartphone in this case. It has smart software, and that’s why the low light is great. The dual aperture on the Note is almost a gimmick, especially when iPhone still takes more color accurate and better exposed photos in low light.
@@Mistygio you realize AI is nothing but a smart set of code coupled with sensors yes? That's what I said. And downloading an app to mimic DoF isn't the same as iPhone's variable DoF which is present post photo. I agree that you can download an app on phones to get that bokeh effect. Whereas on the iPhone, it make use of the face id sensors and code, giving that professional DSLR look, post-photo, meaning after you take an image.

When we talk about camera. It's very hard to tell, because it comes down to personal preference. Both are great. And my personal selection is Samsung Note 9, even though its dynamic range, potrait mode, blurry background and colour is not as good as the Iphone, but its still produce sharper image overall and still doing the best. But, when comes to low light, we all know the winner here. So Note 9, still great in daylight and especially in lowlight.
Hello. One question, I have samsung s6 edge plus, video camera with double camera for front and back. And I bought Iphone XS MAX does not have double camera? Is there an iOS application? Iphone has no resolution photo size? thank you
It’s been confirmed, Apple being Apple automatically added ‘Beauty effect’ on the new iPhone xs and xs max as a standard future for the selfie mode, not as a future that can be toggled ‘on or off’ just like Samsung phones. All in the effort to produce a spotless and sharper image. That’s corny af.😁😁😁

Most everyone else are openly biased towards one OS over the other and it shows in how they supposedly make their decisions on which is which. It's nice to see someone just say it like it is for a change. And this is from a full-on android fan.
Ever considered that the Note 9 is more to the right and therefore could have gotten the reflection of the light while it wouldn't have if being at the same position as the iPhone?
Note9 owner here. iPhone definitely has better HDR and more realistic colors, keep in mind though that N9 has pro mode so all that can be fine tuned for those who know what they're doing. Also, there are now working Google camera ports for N9 so u can combine Google's software magic with Samsung's top of the line hardware. For casual users who just wanna point and shoot iPhone is probably a better choice, but then again, the difference is not that dramatic so you can't really go wrong with any of these 2 devices. Video surprised me. I expected iPhone to be a clear winner here, but I kinda like Samsung's footage better. Stereo sound recording on iPhone is dope, it's even slightly better than Samsung's, which is great by itself.
XS is 1000$, Note 9 is about the same. And XS has the most powerful 7nm A12 Bionic CPU in the world and iOS ecosystem. Note 9 is too expensive with no impressive technologies and Android OS as Xiaomi cheap phones :)

I wish samsung would remove that whitish tone the camera gives on the skin. If it does away with that and captures the natural skin colour of people, it could seriously rival the pixel phones.
iphone did really improved but the note 9 has something noticeable in lowlight situation
Youre the best tech youtube
Not bias and always gives an honesr review 💯
Love you videos man!
Note9 ❤
I honestly prefer the note9 tbh they're both good but the note9 has that second aperture for low light
Sebastian 0113 Firstly, before calling someone stupid, check your fucking spelling cause you're making a fool out of yourself (Its you're not your). And secondly, umm, the samsung has a second aperture which the iphone doesn't have? What's your point?
*BUT THE SECOND APERTURE ISN'T FOR LOWLIGHT...IT'S FOR SUNLIGHT.*
THAT'S THE POINT.
Sebastian 0113 “yOuR sTuPiD”
@@kushtalin9180
IT IS POSSIBLE TO DECREASE THE APERTURE JUST LIKE 👍1.5 TO 2.4
BUT THAT ISN'T POSSIBLE TO INCREASE IT JUST LIKE 2.4 TO 1.5👎
I MEAN 1.5 IS THE PRIMARY APERTURE AS YOU CAN CHANGE IT.
You’re so awesome you go above and beyond with your reviews
I seriously don’t think Apple users would swap to use Samsung even though the new versions are overpriced. It’s just because iOS is too good to get rid of. Just my personal opinion, though.
Ens "Samsung phones are overpriced". LMFAO, you can't make this shit up.
Ens you forgot to factor in the profit margin from Apple charging for fast charging bricks and headphone dongles.
Profit margin is without a doubt higher for the iPhone. Don’t be a sheep. Be objective.
Ens That’s why I think if I have to use Android, Samsung isn’t the only/best option.
Honest Opinion:
Xs Max is really powerful at daylight
and Note 9 is powerfully in at night shot.

@@marvinocarizavlogs Here bro

(Note 9 has a Dxo Score of 103)
The new Galaxy(probably Samsung Galaxy S10) will be a beast!Just mark my words and after the unpacked event i really want to see if you will reply.
Not to forget Note 9 still have Pro Mode which can manually adjust ISO, Aperture, WB etc. That's the real beast.
Interesting results this time around.
Video:
Front facing camera: Note
The iPhone has better dynamic range, and slightly better stabilization, but the Note's image was much clearer.
4K30: Note
Samsung definitely has a clearer image on both the front and rear facing cameras.
4K60: Note
The video was a little clearer on the iPhone (most noticeable on the ground, where a lot of the bumps/cracks were not visible on the Note), but the dynamic range was better on the Note. Stabilization was also better on the Note.
Autofocus: Draw
In this comparison, I think the difference is negligible, but I would like to see a comparison in low light, where the iPhone usually struggles.
Slowmo: iPhone
The iPhone seemed to have slightly more detail in the 1080p240 slowmo, but the Samsung's colors popped a little more.
Pictures:
Front facing camera: iPhone
Again, the iPhone has much better dynamic range. Oddly, I thought the iPhone actually had better detail as well, although not by much.
Front facing Portrait mode: iPhone
The iPhone still has better dynamic range and better detail. However, I think the Note did a little better with edge detection. It's more noticeable in the second picture, where the hair at the top was blurred out on the iPhone, but still clear on the Note.
Front facing low light: Note
Not even close. The Note decimates the iPhone here in all aspects.
Rear facing camera: Note (by a hair)
This was pretty close, but I think the Note has a slight edge.
Rear facing Portrait mode: iPhone
I think the iPhone wins here. Both did great on edge detection, but the dynamic range gives the win to the iPhone, since you can't get those details back in the Note pictures.
Rear facing low light: Note
Still not even close. Apple needs to figure out how to do low light photography, which is going to require a larger aperture.
Overall, I think both are pretty solid. Apple needs to spend the next year working on their low light photography and the video in general. Samsung does a great job in low light, and the only real weakness was dynamic range in portrait mode, so they just need to slowly improve the other areas.
which laptop you are using ....

****Note 9
The Samsung had warmer, more pleasing colours. In many shots, the iphone's white balance looks much too cool and unnatural. The only area where the iPhone was a little better was dynamic range. Otherwise, i preferred the note's images. Especially for low light

why iPhone's Background is looking blurry as if Portrait mode is there...🤔
iPhone has a natural shallow depth of field due to its larger sensor.
@@skylurker46 nice
Try to count how many times he said dynamic range lmao
I drunk to it.. Now I'm drank "hiccups"
