FX30 Ver 2 Firmware "No Media" Warning Using Mac

- If you have the following message on your FX30 after 1.05 version installed...
"There is no media inserted in slot 1,
there is no update file in the media,
or the file is damaged."
Check the file name that mac adds when it has two same file names downloaded. The mac will add (1) to the end of the file name and the FX30 will not recognize the file.

This issue is due to Sony using the same name for each firmware update. The could embed in a zip file with the firmware number for each on a folder containing the update file and have you copy that file to the flash drive, prior to running the update.
Yes, there is no doubt that Sony could have made it a bit clearer or written better instructions. However I really like this new way of updating vs the old way. It is so much easier to do.
@@MalcolmWalker Not sure what the old way was, only been using Sony since November. I guess the old way was bad so this is like a step up.
@@waynerm002 yeah the old way you have to plug the camera into the computer, follow multiple steps and a wizard style computer window from the download. It wasn’t terrible if you knew computers. But this new way is much simpler. Just the fx30 needing 2 downloads to get to ver2 is weird and probably throws people off.
