Personally I am loving my FX30 (though I never shoot at 120fps) - Great dynamic range (14.5 stops claimed and verified) - low noise up to 60fps - beautiful image from the 26MP sensor down-sampled to 4K. AF is incredible. Def would like a 'burst mode' for stills- clearly no reason it couldn't do that except that Sony crippled it on purpose.
After all this is a great camera that is helping me a lot in my works, coming from Eos R FF and heavy lenses.

With all it’s flaws, it is a great camera and I really like using it. Coming from Nikon, I posted a bunch of videos while first getting to know the camera. I have used it in low light situations and it works quite well, noise cleans up well in Resolve.

Gerald undone bunch of others said c70 c300 have more dynamic range than A7siii...as far as noise some good color correction can help...I had a pair of a6400, kept one and bought a pair of fx30 units...very happy...the 10 bit makes a huge difference...
Yeah that Canon sensor is fantastic. I don’t think the noise on the FX30 is a dealbreaker, just pointing it out. Still produces amazing results
Rule of thumb: ignore Gerald Whatever. Frequently wrong, but people don't call him out because he has orchestrated a creepy cult following.
Hey buddy, perhaps consider monoing your mic, it’s very slightly left of centre and a bit disconcerting if listening in headphones, unless of course you are purposely placing it left in the stereo field, in which case ignore me. Thanks for the video.

I love my FX3 to bits, such an incredible camera. I love the quality and feel of the FX3 body. Thinking about getting the FX30 as a second body. Seems to complement the FX3 really well. And it’s a proper professional camera unlike the ZVE1
I'm surprised how much I like the FX30 body. I miss the EVF from the other alpha bodies but given that Sony hasn't updated the a7SIII alongside the FX3, it's got me thinking about selling it and getting the FX3
I am currently working with the 3 and 30 in my wedding kit and it's a perfect sister camera :)
I love my zv-e1. Sometimes you just want a light camera. Fx-30 is cool too. But I shoot my iv instead of taking fx-30 because it’s hybrid. I only use the fx-30 for anything where I need long recording because in all honssty that Iv I don’t trust not to shut down
Agree with all of this, and would add that the menus/interface - despite getting superficial raves from folks who simply wanted it to change - can be infuriating when it comes to saved presets. During a high-stress shoot, I found core settings "locked" from revision (e.g., aperture, ISO, shutter speed) just because I was pulling up a preset I had made, and I had to recreate all the settings from scratch at the generic video profile. Definitely one of those "what were they thinking?" things that arrogantly bullies users.
And I think I've bitched to you before about how the Cine EI workflow (Alister Chapman's iron fist) is ironically an amateur decision set ironically marketed to pro shooters: it assumes we don't know about base ISO concepts and forces the user into brackets, instead of having total control. Worst of all, it relies on Sony's stupid (and poorly coded) Catalyst Prepare plug-in system, which brings Adobe and other apps to a crawl at worst (because Sony has no business in, and a bad record of, coding software).
I do not understand the craze about Cine EI unless you are trying to match cameras...I figure Slog3 give so much room to grade..I am just an amateur but the reason I wanted the 10bit is to have fun in Resolve..I enjoy using the tools, learning the grading process..as far as Gerald Undone goes..he seems pretty legit when it comes to some key elements, dynamic range, iso..I have seen some other channels where the guys are straight up wrong. Undone still seems set on over exposing the FX30 however..this does not appear the case..the FX30 does not need to be over exposed..you can in fact play with the exposure to get the image you want..
Yes, what really sucks. You can´t see the audio levels properly when you use the handle. Just very tiny in the left corner.

You know when you really love the look of something? FX30 never gives me that. Rolling shutter and noise make me immediately stop watching. Like looking at a regular screen after using a retina screen (can’t go back to APS-C).
I really like the top handle except it being slightly plastic. Otherwise it looks great, works great and sounds fantastic. Much better than using sound input on the camera. It’s a necessity for any type of journalist/reporter scenario. Slower settings like documentary or wedding perhaps not so much.
I like the top handle too. Again, not the physical build, but the functionality is great

@@valeriomazzanti8681 I have no idea. Sorry. I use ProGrade V90 256gb and Sony Tough V90 64gb. Those are the only two cards that I have any experience with on the FX30

Totally agree about the top handle. My FX3 came with it and I used it once and was like "yah, no". Since FX3 can accept timecode, I just record externally and sync in post. Plus I think the top handle only allows recording in 16-bit and is terrible quality compared to my Zoom F6 with 32-bit float.
I still like the functionality of it in some situations. It does record up to 24-bit, too
I use the top handle all the time. Love it. I work in news though and need XLR inputs and proper sound controls. The sound handle sells a lot of FX3/FX30 cameras to news broadcast companies I can tell you.

@@ameiya8949 No problem, I appreciate the info. I've listened to it on a couple different devices and I'm hearing it through both sides. Some of the vocal inserts are only playing through one side (I definitely forgot to fill both sides on some of those).
So, I'm not really sure what the deal is and unfortunately I've lost this project file so I can't go back and see what I did.
Anyway, I appreciate your kind feedback and I'll definitely pay attention to this in the future

NDs would make this camera cooler and the top handle sucks a lot lot. They should have given it the a7r5 screen. SDI on the body and I’ll take two
More like a baby FX6 as opposed to a baby FX3. Return of the FS5?

None of the Sony cameras I’ve used allows for custom white balance setting in memory recall mode. I don’t understand why.

What? Lol there’s no 3x2 in video. The biggest size it can shoot in is cinema 4k now (2:1 ratio).
the plastic handle sucks and breaks
The XH2-S utterly sucks due to the bolt on” cooling system which is frankly a joke.
I’ve not heard that the X H2S is a bad overheater. But definitely would be a negative in comparison to the FX30
@@PhillipRPeck a “bolt on” cooling fan is never going to perform comparable to an integrated cooling system. Because the heat doesn’t conduct well through the camera case so that means the fan is faster louder larger and less efficient than the integrated system.
It has dual base iso which eliminates any noise
