@@Dreamcancel696 so because you think he’s talking to white people, it’s a dog whistle? That implies all white people are racist. Only racists can hear the dog whistle. He’s talking to everyone who was “Taught when we’re young to hate one another” (including himself), Then he says “it’s time to have a NEW reign of power, make pride UNIVERSAL, so no one gives in…” (to hate) he says that hate is the “right approach for the wrong”; also “.. unification, breathing life into our lungs, every Creed and every kind to give us depth of strength.” to me he’s proclaiming diversity gives us strength. He also talks about confronting the haters asking them “what’s wrong with your minds?” Even if he was talking to a group of skinheads I don’t see how the quotes I just listed would benefit their cause. There are more lyrics I’d love to go into, but I’ll leave it there to not make this message a novel.

    Here are my thoughts.
About the confederate flag thing, back then, a lot of people didn't really know what the confederate flag meant. Many people just saw the flag as a sign of rebellion and thought it looked cool. So I don't think Dimebag is a racist.
And when Dimebag said the N-word, he wasn't using it in an intentionally racist way. He probably just said it on accident.
Phil isn't a racist either. Someone in the crowd CALLED him a racist, so when he said "white power" and did the salute, he was being sarcastic. That's the thing a lot of people don't know.

The Dixie rebel guitar is cringe?! Lol one of the most iconic guitars in metal ! And also back when he had the guitar, the flag didn't have the very negative connotation that it has now. I still remember download 2007, someone brought this huge Confederate flag and was waving it. During "now you've got something to die for", Randy Blythe asked the person in the crowd to wave it higher. Is Randy Blythe racist now? The victim card people play now and for almost everything is insane. The wayans should be racist for white chicks or are you one of those people who say people of colour can't be racists?

You can look back at this and be disgusted because this shit wouldn’t fly today. Or you can suck it the fuck up and realize it was a very very different time. Confederate flags were extremely prevalent in the south (aka from Texas to Virginia 😂) up until like 2010 until it just became a cringey prop for hate groups and no longer represented southern pride or a symbol of the south. And the n word shit, lol I believe he said that shit to a white dude lol. Doug Pinnick plays bass and sings in King’s X. He was at Dimebash. He’s also black. And came out as gay back in 1998. We called him to ask about the interaction he had with Anselmo before Phil went onstage: “Yeah, Phil kissed me,” Pinnick laughs. “I hadn’t seen him since Dime was killed, but I walked backstage and he got up, hugged me as hard as he could and whispered in my ear, ‘You are the greatest human being I’ve ever known.’ That’s just how he is. He’s over the top about everything. I love that guy.”
Not that Pinnick condones Anselmo’s actions onstage that night. “He shouldn’t have done it. I can’t stick up for what he said. I think he was trying to be funny and controversial, but he doesn’t have a racist bone in his body. I know people say, ‘How can you do something like that as a joke?’ But you gotta know Phil and his sarcasm. He got shit on for it, and rightfully so, but the backlash he got was a little bit over the top, I think. These people that are saying all these horrible things about him, they don’t know him. He’s branded a racist forever now, probably. That’ll be part of his résumé. But I hope he can recover from it and continue making music.”

Personally, when Phil spoke about white power and used the nazi salute it was completely insane and uncalled for. One can defiantly infer at the this point Phil has gone off the rails to which was made potent by certain racist views he prolly had already, but in all seriousness when dime-bag said the n word, although insensitive,it was not meant to be hateful, as he was not trying to insult anyone or racially target someone. He probably heard the word being used among black people and for some dumb reason felt comfortable saying it to a literal white dude.Even though he is dead now constructive Criticism would have been appropriate to address his actions but there is no need to try to cancel him and say he was a hateful or truly racist man.

Dime died while it was still somewhat okay, Vinnie during his HellYeah years swapped the confederate flag for a Texas one and flew it high and proud.
And Phil dropped it completely, even giving someone shit at a Pantera reunion tour for bringing one.
