Hey there,
since I started to play ball I always wanted to Dunk a Basketball. 6 months ago I stopped dreaming and started to make my dream reality.
All footage is my personal footage.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. - Спорт
just touching the rim at that height is pretty impressive. good job
Thank you bro!
Aryan Multani just touching the rim at 5’7 requires a whole lotta bounce bruh
Aryan Multani do I give you a trophy or...?
I can’t touch rim...
I’m 11”9
@@roadto7296 I am 12 years old, and i am 175, i can touch the rim. How can i dunk? Do i need to do jumping exercises?
I'm also 5'7". I had big dreams of dunking all the way through junior high and high school. I worked on my vertical a lot, and by my Junior year I had the best vertical on the team. On a good day I could maybe dunk a tennis ball. Watching this really makes me wish I would have put the extra effort and made the dream a reality. I'm 27 now and a far cry from what I was then. For any kids out there watching this, give it your all and don't give up. Don't look back on these days and wished you'd worked harder. They are over in a flash.
so inspirational man thanks
@TheGreenReaper you probably wont grow that much more because you hit puberty early

Wow. I’m genuinely happy for you man. Hard work really does pay off. You’ve inspired me. Bless up. 🙏
I was 5'10" in high school and I'll never forget the first time I went up with both hands and hung on the rim. I was surprised cause the closest I ever got was barely tapping the rim. Even my friend had a shocked look on his face. That was my junior year. I peaked at age 19. I was 6'0", had a 40 inch vertical. Threw down some hard dunks and that was enough for me. Never got close ever again. Wish there were readily available camera phones back in the 90s.
BTW, the way I built my leg and calf strength, I would love running up stadium stairs at my high school. Would love the burn of over working them. Jumping was so effortless after. But you have to be light weight. If u are over weight u will pull your calf muscle.
damn!!! i was rooting for this kid and scrolled down and see two thousand dislikes... unfair, yall are just unfair smh
sticK&Clutch I was too but look at 3:47 the ball doesn't touch the ground
Lol there's too much people debunking this. So they are not really low-lives
It's fake lmao
sticK&Clutch rim is low bro,its not even 9'6
sticK&Clutch 2,000 out of 7,000,000 Is not a lot. Use some sense.
take it from an old dude. I used to triple jump and long jump in high school on asphalt runways and I could dunk at 5'9", you need strength and technique. I like how you went at it and got yourself to your goal but from an old dude to a youngster ease up on the dunking on concrete, that is mostly what we had back in my day, but you can preserve your knees by mostly dunking inside the gym on wood floors it will prevent you from having to get a knee reconstructed like I did. Keep ballin'
lol i could dunk when i was 5'5 and that was the first time trying to probably could've done a smaller height but i didn't really know how awesome basketball is.
Yeah that is true. Not to mention, you are more than likely going to play basketball on a wooden floor instead of concrete, but you never know.
Wow I WowI wish I knew this back in high school I used to practice only on concrete. No wonder I had serious knee problems after practice and the doctor told me I had to stop playing or I will need to reconstruct my knee.
howard baxter actually in my school our gym has a concrete floor but with lino on top.
WISLEY DORELIEN ESTATE i play on concrete courts all the time. it's just how you land that determines whether or not your gonna have problems. with my vert i have to learn to land properly or suffer leg injuries.
You already know he is the coolest kid among his friends. They are probably like, “ Oh, well my friend can dunk and he’s only 5’7”.”
Morpheous: “he’s beginning to believe”
I am mexican and I aprove his improvement I mean I can jump a 2.50m high wall but he's good
Bitch you couldn't jump start a car shut yo ass up
you are telling that to a mexican oww you need to learn
I just now got that. Lol
+papiripapuru not once trumps in officeXD Oh god, i hope he isnt
who the fuck asked for your approval
This is impressive, but what is even more impressive is that he dunked as a two foot jumper and a one foot jumper. Not many athletes have that type of agility. Most are either a one foot jumper (David Thompson) or a two foot jumper (Dominique Wilkins.) Michael Jordan, of course, is an exception, able to leap equally well off two feet or one foot, so can this young man.
Thanks man!
lol i do thankfully !!! i had two foot then i worked my technique for one foot and now i have both :D
MaX LeVeL Gaming Thats great man. By the way i love Australia!
Road To thanks btw way do i have rough estimate of how high you jump just curious and wanted to compare each others
MaX LeVeL Gaming Back then it would have been around 37-38 inches now I can do around 41-42 inches
AWESOME WORK ! It shows total determination, focusing on a single goal. At the end , you almost made it look easy!
I think he would have been dunking by week 18 or 19 if he had basketball shoes
Is this a Joke or you mean it seriously?
@@biggie999 Seriously...
@@cart.8335 why tho?
H. Y. Im dead ass
He got high enough by hat time
After 6 months you have probably grow an inch
Amritdeep Deol that’s what i was thinking
Okay but how relevant is that? Looks like a comment to detract from all the hard work that was involved in his progression. If you don’t want to do the work then don’t but you don’t need to come on here and post something to try to make yourself feel better about not putting in the work.
Wrong. You'll be lucky to grow one more inch after you turn 17. He looks older than 17.
tighebrother I agree with you, but I don’t think he was saying that to make himself feel better, just saying it to state a probability. However, it doesn’t really meatier if he grew an inch, because that gap between the tips of his fingers and the top of the rim are definitely more than an inch on his last dunk
tighebrother alright dude relax what are you the nice police
I remember training like this back in 2001 at the 24 Fitness Center in Dallas. Taught myself how to dribble with both hands full speed up & down the court. Next faze, how to grip the basketball with one hand. Next; jump shooting. Releasing the ball at the top of my jump. I then realized, the higher I jumped, the lower the basket became. Started knocking down 3's with ease. Finally I started trying to lay the ball in the basket with the back of my hand touching the top of the rim. Got it! That lead to me being able to grab the rim😀. I started dunking with a tennis ball, then move to a females basketball. I was nearly there (dunking with a official size NBA ball) until I cracked my ankle playing on a outside basketball court in my old neighborhood. I went up for a put back dunk and came down in the concrete cut-out that the goal post was positioned in. That set me back 6 months. Glad you met your goal👍
If “I would’ve made it to the league if it wasn’t for that one injury” was a person
@itschaos that’s literally exactly what I was about to comment literally sounds like my uncle
I've watch this 3 years ago. Now i can do a clean dunk. Thanks to the inspiration dude!! 💪💪🙏
Thats great!
@@roadto7296 post an upload how you dunking now bro
Heck yeah dude. Way to work! This is a anything is possible situation. It takes a lot of effort to develop bounce. I’m 6’3, spent my entire junior year of gym class working on it before I could finally dunk. Dedication and hard work with achieve anything

Well done! Great job🔥👏🏽👏🏽
This is an excellent video, I am 5'7" as well and am training hard just to touch rim at this point. Your video is not only inspirational but great for studying proper form and technique.
3:35 that ball bounces on air ????
@@itsmenohandle may just be the low frame rate

Great work I'm 6'1" and I'll tell you the best dunk I ever got off was just a regular dunk which meant so much to me. It was a dream for me as well, currently have an ankle injury hoping to get back up there one day. Keep it coming

Mc Mattia sit down

I've seen it asked "How he trained" and I wanted to point out, IF you are dedicated enough and you try hard enough and never quit. Almost anything is possible.
I might be a bit taller then him at 6'3" and at this moment, I doubt I could touch the rim. But when I was playing basketball every day and actually using the muscles needed to do it. I could dunk. I played every day for almost 8 years. At least 2-4 hours a day. When I first started, I could barely touch the net. Within 6 months I was grabbing the rim. It is all about DOING IT!!
Long story short;
If you want to dunk. Continuously practice jumping.
If you want to hit a base ball. Continuously practice hitting.
If you want to throw touchdowns. Continuously practice throwing a football.
If you want to be the best guitarist. Continuously practice playing the guitar.
ETC. ETC. ETC.
As the saying goes "Practice" makes perfect. You take ANY professional athlete and ask them how they are so great at what they do and every one of them will tell you they put in the time. PRACTICING!!
Good Luck to all who have a dream and the determination to achieve it.
I completely agree. That being said, Practice doesn't make perfect. PERFECT Practice makes perfect.
2xkiller bro no offense but i can touch net when im only 5'3 7th grade
Michael Griggs That's great! Put it to use.
Spud Web was even shorter and won the Slam Dunk contest at the NBA finals. I'll keep my eye out for ya there.

Basically you inspired me to do my own road to dunk.
With hard work and dedication you can achieve anything...good job!!!

Hey man, thanks for the inspiration. Im 5.11-6ft and im 14. As a kid i used to be really athletic...but around the time i was 10 sadly i was consumed by stupid shit like video games... and it really fucked me up physically. I probably couldnt even do 20 laps on the school pacer test, let alone 10 pushups for awhile. Gotta say i was really ashamed of myself, felt pretty damn pathetic. But later in the year when i was 13 i started playing basketball, it was the first sport i found which i truly enjoyed. Since then i have really been working hard to become athletic once again, currently i would say i went from being in extremely poor health to a mid-tier athlete. Alot of people say that i have the persistence and potential to become something big. But its like im still no-where near satisfied, i had trouble with my shot, even layups. But i kept practicing and they became better, i mean currently they arent "good" but they are better than nothing (not many indoor courts and its been freezing outside every day for the past four months). But im keeping at it, and it seems like at this time my skills are improving GREATLY every single day (yes i play in the freezing cold lol). My running has become excellent (i have asthma so my breathing isnt quiet there yet!), as well as the strength of my upper body. Well... excluding my arms im currently working almost every other day to improve them. (XD those 3 reps of 40 pushups in the one footed training program might be pretty hard). Currently i cant touch rim, im maybe about....7 inches away. But i hope to change that with this program! lls sorry for talking so long, its just been a REALLY rough time for me. Being constantly criticized, or laughed at. There were a few times where out of nowhere, from being criticized my skills (i think i was angry) suddenly increased TREMENDOUSLY everything increased... even my jump. But it was only temporary, except seing myself doing that good (knowing i can be that amazing, at times like that people often compare me to Larry Bird lol) really pushed me forward and inspired me to keep going, as well as my love for the game. My point is you have to be extremely determined, willing, and persistent if you really want to get better. And i feel like i can relate to this. Anyway... thanks for your help! Once i get my basics up a little bit more im definitely going to start working on this training program! I appreciate any tips you veterans can give me. Keep grindin bro
lol sorry for being all emotional and shit. This vid really just sparked a fire in me. I kinda obsess over becoming more fit, and improving my skills :)
2zelda1trh hey man dont kick yourself im 5-11 and havent grown in 8 years (im 19 now) i dunked the ball for the first time when i just turned 13, in an official rim. i understand you are working hard a lot and i respect it a lot!!! i hope you keep doing so! i just want to tell you something i recognized the second my last game in high school finished and where i realized the basketball career was over or you got to do something new. and no one knows how it feels until you are at the last second of the last game youll play with an official team for a school regardless of you going on to college. what im getting to is that you shouldnt place blame on videogames or anything because at the end of the day its you, and how much you want it. i was there when FaZe first started as a call of duty clan and tried out made the cut then my house was robbed the next day so i played videogames but that didnt stop me from school or basketball or life. i graduated summa cum laude of my high school ranked 47 in the state of Florida in basketball and i still play videogames. im not lazy either i have fixed cars, drift cars, learned the piano, french and now learning spanish and have done a lot of things. but the real thing i want to say is dont let the thought of something take over just be you and everyday work hard to be 1 percent better. because in 100 days guess how much better youll be? this video is great to show progress but it doesnt show the actual work behind it. from my point of view of playing basketball and seeing many ballers come and go id say if you want to get hire work on your abs and legs. and like Han said in tokyo drift you learn by doing it. so even if you cant dunk everytime you lay up the ball jump as high as you can and give that backboard a good slap. work on your foot work as well. besides that do squats but dont stress the weights too much, its about the workout more then the muscle gain. its hard work but worth it. and why i chose not to play for a college is because i honestly dont feel like doing the day to day routine anymore and actually want a degree because not to many in our family have one. im learning computer science hopefully i can learn to dunk in that field one day. and just being honest hope you read this with real sincerity to the message this wasnt me boasting about my self, i just want to help you or anyone that reads this out. stay positive and grind. another thing if you get injured, just stay off. ive pulled my groin and fracture acl and i wish i had this advice(took the advice). just stay off until it is healed and get it strong again.
Thanks for the advice!
You ARE a kid
Yeah i know, but i meant it as "younger"

Road To Can you tell us how you trained to be able to dunk? Squats?
Amazing stuff. I'm 5'7" and never had a prayer of dunking. A HS buddy of mine was 5"9" range and was the state high jump champ. He had small hands and the only dunk he could do consistently was to go with two hands but off a run, so no "legal" dunks. He did jam a few offensive rebounds in practice (was during the dunk ban age, mid 1970's. So none in competition).
This is inspiring bro
173 cm is 5' 8"
It's still pretty amazing though
5’8’ is 175 cm
I'm like 170cm and i can dunk some how :'D
Auston Matthews i am 182cm how much is that in the other lenght thing
Auston Matthews thanks dude! Is it amazing to play in leafs🤣
Hey dude, how much is 1.99cm? Here in Uruguay we use centimeters
Good job dude. I´m 6´3" and barely could dunk it when I played basketball about 10 years ago, being in my best shape. I´m sure I can´t do it anymore with the extra weight I have now and a f*cked up right knee.
It gets worse, bro. I'm 40 and can barely get the rim anymore. A torn meniscus makes it even worse LOL
Proud of you!
