Nasty riffs, badass solos, creativity, anger, killer sound, just a normal megadeth album
Their third best. After Risk and Cryptic Writings, of course.
@@HeathenDance I hope your are kidding peace sells is way better than risk and cryptic writings
Risk is thier best album, super collider is thier 2nd best album.
if we're all disagreeing on what their best album is, just goes to show how good of a band it is
Risk, cryptic and super collider are bottom albums.. stick em anywhere between 10 and 16 .. piece sells is easy top 3 behind countdown to ext.. and rust in peace .. well The sick, the dying and the dead is actually pretty pretty good

As a fan of Metal (and yes, Metallica also), I 100% agree. The only thing I dislike about this album in particular is its length... That's way too short!!! (I'm complaining about that, but a lot of albums are shorter than this one, so I guess it doesn't take away anything from it, but still is a shame it's not any longer)
@@jonathanlemarie9278 For any music.
Good Mourning/Black Friday is the greatest thrash metal song in history IMO. Completely unique and irrepleaceable.
Absolutely, it is also fun if you play it on guitar too!
Mustaine has been terrified and asking God for forgiveness for having written those songs ( along with another absolute classic , namely " The Conjuring " ) for decades now .
@@saraivatoledo1842 Did Conjuring have actual spell in it?
@@pavelignatenkov7391 Do you believe in that kind of thing ? I believe he had a , justifiable imho , profound hatred towards Metallica back then ...you can hear some " malicious intent " in the music ,that´s for sure . Definitely not the type of music which conjures two lovers flying in a pure white unicorn towards the beautiful rainbow ahead ...
Drugs and those 12 steps type of drug/alcohol rehabs turned Mustaine into ...well, something which might have saved his life ...I´d rather have him alive than enjoy the 1st 4 albums of a man who " OD"´ed or committed suicide , you know ?
@@saraivatoledo1842 AMEN
This Record will always be my favorite from them. It's extremely sentimental to me.
Me too. The first tape I ever bought with money I earned as a kid doing chores. I'd walk, ride my bike, go everywhere listening to this album on headphones.
Same. I saw Wake up Dead on MTV back when headbanger's ball was a thing, in the 80s and I was hooked.I still listen to it regularly, like at the gym a lot especially.
Yeah same as, I had it on cassette tape when I was 14

This album is a masterpiece in its own right!!!
Killer album. Brutal, solid, and intellectual. Never gets old.🔥🔥🔥
Loved this album 30 years ago and still LOVE it now.
CHEERS 🍻
Their best album front to back. Every other Riff is a legit classic. Rust In Peace is great and very evenly structured but this is more chaoticillay Brilliant
Growing up in the early 80s was fun.

My absolute favorite Megadeth Album.
Been coming back to it for 37 years.
This one and Rust In Peace are both perfect albums.
To which... add Endgame. The 3rd, almost perfect, hrash Megadeth masterpice.
That final solo in My last words is always astounding
Best Mustaine solo by far.
@@KorsAir1987so far….? Do you really think he will top this now he is 60? 😂
@@KorsAir1987 I disagree Mechanix, wake up dead, both devils island solos, bad omen, holy wars, lucretia, five magics, hangar 18, last rites/loved to deth, sweating bullets, high speed dirt, captive honour, victory, go to hell, prince of darkness, ashes in your mouth, kick the chair, 1000 times goodbye, return to hangar, sleepwalker, washington is next ,youre dead, burnt ice, etc. etc. he has so many great solos and is very underrated i cant name them all. Its one of his best but I would say his best are either holy wars or my favourite is lucretia
The monsters check under the bed for this album before they go to sleep.
A historical album that took Metal to new heights...One of the Best Albums amongst the Best.
That break down groove during The Conjuring.
Come on.
This album is the best there is at melodic technical thrash.
Black Friday is so brutal man I love it \m/

I'd say that this trash album holds up better than any other. Back in the 80s, this wasn't my favorite thrash album or the one I listened to the most, but for the past decade I'd say that I enjoy this more than any other thrash album. It's clearly a standout.

An amazing work of art that perfectly captures the gear and technics of that time. It is as it should be. Perfect.
This album is such as masterpiece!!! Everyone in the band kicks ass on this album. And how about Gar’s drumming!!🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
The drummer definitely had a coffee or 2 before recording lol

Took ages for Devils Island to really grow on me, IMO its one of those songs that just keeps getting better.
its funny but good lmao
the opening it pretty great though.
Thank you Megadeth for making sure to turn the bass up.
At 47 years of age this is still my favorite album of all time every time I listen to it reminds me why.

Simplemente BRUTAL.......
The irony is that if Metallica didn't fire Mustaine we would have missed a great band. And yes, a great album.
Thanks for sharing!
Yup. This album is top notch. Can't believe the production. Absolutely nothing sounds like this today!
I think if you really look at it, Dave was destined to leave Metallica either way. It's clear today that in Metallica what James says goes for better or worse. Lars is just there to lap up the money, Kirk is just happy to have what he does while.. I'm sure he's a frustrated man.. Who would be happy having a job that directly demands breaking up petty fights and playing middle man between a singer with a shitty attitude and a drummer that just doesn't give a shit and is just there for the drama. and the bassist.. Well.. He's just happy to be in Metallica. Dave is too big of an authoritative and directional personality to be in Metallica. It's kinda like.. There can be only one in Metallica. Not enough room for two alphas. But also yes. I fully agree if Dave would have stayed in Metallica, he would have been stifled pretty badly and we wouldn't have the variety at least of the major two bands.
@@n78966969696896 Right said all but most of all about Lars and Kirk. You know to read people. My opinion too about the two. Now we are two expressing but probably much more that are prefering just to shut up 👍
That's true, but at the same time if Mustaine would have stayed in Metallica, it's conceivable we would not have seen Metallica's slow decline in musical quality after Puppets, and could possibly have had many more great Metallica albums. It's also conceivable that Dave could have been in Metallica, and simultaneously done something like Megadeth as a side project, no matter what papa Het had to say about it!
@@databloom70 Agree but arguing about the decline of Metallica.
IMHO it didn't come after Puppets but after Justice.
On my taste, Ride the Lightning, their second, is a masterpiece.
Complex and splendid. The call of Ktulu is outstanding.
Peace Sells, Spreading the Disease, The Legacy, Reign in Blood, Master of Puppets, Taking Over, The Ultra-Violence, Beyond the Gates, Terrible Certainty, Leprosy, S.O.D.,Death and Insanity, Black Metal, Live After Death, The Dark, D.B.C., Iron Fist. Thanks for the upload great album & great quality.
I love the conjuring on this album.
The breakdown riff... just stops everything. Moment of absolute drama. One of the most impactful riffs in 80s metal. Although bettered by Slayer's Angel of Death, which does the same thing, but then continues on and on with a twin guitar attack and twisted, parallel harmonics.
This inspired me to play since my 1st guitar like 1985
You mean the year of his debut album since he left Metallica.

One of my favorite vinyl records, it's fantastic 💿💕🔥
@a stupid meme channel are you sure it's not a silver vinyl? 😅
@a stupid meme channel LOL!
Straight and to the point. Heavy AF. Masterpiece AF. Too advanced for me back when I first listened to it back in ‘92 as 14 year old. 30 years later I appreciate Poland’s uniqueness and Samuelson’s beats. Mustaine’s lyrics are still a bit WTF, but what an album. Maybe better than rust.
So you are 44 years old and use expressions like "AF"? Right on, keep up with the kids.
If u ask me , I think Dave's voice and lyrics are spot on . This album is a fucking masterpiece
I think it's better than rust but I'm biased I heard this when it came out and it takes me back to my freshman year in high school
i still don't get how they made the underwhelming so far so good so what when dave was in his prime, if that album was as good as the previous or the next, we would not be arguing over the metallica vs megadeth thing
@@jefflawson3574 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Cheer up Jeff! Looks like you are miserable AF.
Man Chris Poland is such a unique player
I listen to the lyrics, and somehow this feels very relevant to today,
"What do you mean I hurt your feelings"
"What do you mean I'm not kind... just not your kind"
"What do you mean I cant be the President"
"Tell me something, it's still WE... the people right?"
Shook me to my core
Megadeth is timeless 🤌
If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line. But it better work this time!
Think your missing a line there buddy, after he said I hurt your feelings, he said, "I didn't know u had any feelings"
I was obsessed with this album when I was 11. Still have it, vinyl. Haven't listened to it in a few decades, still fucking awesome 🚬🎃🔮🥨
Their best album by far 🤘🏻
I hold this as the pinnacle Megadeth album.. But damn the new shit is on FIRE!
The ice t part is the only bad part
This album to Rust In Peace is the best Megadeth. Can't get into anything else other than these 3 albums. There's something about the production of the times back then that put them over.
@@DonTheMoron716 Countdown to extinction was pretty good.
@@markpalavosvrahotes5575 i have tried and never got into it. Mustaine's vocals got worse after RIP.
@@DonTheMoron716 I think in interviews he talked about at one point in his career he finally got tired of trashing his throat everytime he sang so he started bringing it down and I'm thinking maybe that's what you are referring to and though I agree I also agree with Dave on that too.

The best thrash metal album ever. The quality of sound is poor, but music is genius.
It's great..... but Rust In Peace is better. Yes it's a popular take, but it's popular for a reason.
