Dang for going to a con you got some great deals. Love the Cap 107, I picked one up from an antique mall a few weeks ago and I still love pulling it out…(that’s what she said) Also I did the dang thing… I am now an owner of a library card! So of course the first thing I did was check out the first 2 volumes of Sandman and have been LOVING it.
I’m patient and not a stickler for grades. It’s amazing what you can find when you work that way (going on the last day of a con helps too!). And yes! That’s awesome! I hope you enjoy it! I’m going to get into Saga next because of you!

Awesome video! I've been debating starting Sandman I've got several runs I want to start, collector problems. Love that book of the con wasn't Avengers 4 but Daredevil. It shows that heart value trumps monetary value every time. Thank you so much for the shout-out! Your kind words make me want to put out more and better content. You continue to be an inspiration!
Start Sandman. You will not regret it. I’ve got the first trade in the mail right now. If we end up seeing each other before you’re able to start your run (and you don’t mind reading trades) we can do a library loan situation.
I realize that I'm essentially a stranger on the internet, but I say this with absolutely sincerity - I'm so happy that you managed to pick up a copy of Avengers #4. Seeing your joy, brought me joy :) I had a copy of that back in the 90's and sold it (along with some other grails...House of Secrets 92, Hulk 181, Green Lantern 76 etc) to pay for my first year of college. I've replaced most of those books, but an Avengers 4 is still missing from my collection. The other comics you grabbed were also really nice! And trust me when I say this, you're gonna want more than just the first twelve issues of Sandman. That's a series that everyone has to read, and if its in reach (financially) everyone should try to own...it's SO worth it! Congrats on your great convention haul!
I totally understand the feeling of being happy for strangers. When Mike from Lunch Money Comics got his X-Men 1 I actually stood up and fist pumped in my living room. It’s awesome to see people get books that mean something to them. But, for what it’s worth, you leave so many comments and interact with me so much that I recognize you instantly so you aren’t exactly a stranger to me. I hope you get your own Avengers 4! (I can already feel the urge to complete Sandman so you’re absolutely right)
I can remember when Heroes Con was in a single room held in the old Eastland mall….I actually one the door prize, a Giant Size X-Men #1, which I still have
I'm not a comic collector, but that Con seems like the spot if you're a collector. It definitely gets me hyped for my local con, SDCC. Great video brother.
Good evening Hagan Great score sir, Great video, I love how your love having the comic not the grade. The collection is coming along. Silverage/Bronze Age Cap is the best. Those covers told a story each and every time! Cheers Al The Goldkeyfourcolorkidownunda
LOVED this video, bro. Top notch intro! I lol'd - and I may need your therapist's number. My favorite pick up is the Swamp Thing. I have that issue reprinted in an oversize treasury edition of Batman's Strangest Cases. It's a childhood book and seeing that cover brought back all the feels. Congrats on the Avengers 4 - what an incredible pick up! Great video! ♥
Congrats on getting Avengers #4, along with so many other awesome pickups. There's nothing like going back in time and getting a comic book you had when you were a kid. Treasure those moments and re-live those memories. What a successful show! My favorite pickup of yours was the Cap #110 - those three Steranko Cap issues are amazing, and it's a shame he didn't do more.
The great thing about the the Bernie Wrightson Swamp Thing Covers is that the art looks good in any condition. I would even argue that thats the issue that planted the seeds for Justice League Dark. Great Haul and congrats on your Cap
Completely agree with you. I love silver age books with character! And Wrightsons artwork looks like it should be on a torn up monster movie poster in an abandoned movie theater… in a good way!
Congratulations on the Avengers 4!! One of my most desired books! I am an Avengers fan. and I'm only missing a handful. I really am enjoying your channel! Same goes for Lunch Money and Mon! Great videos every time!
Loved your video. I bought that issue off the stand. I at one time had a complete FF, ASM, DD, X-men, Sgt. Fury, Hulk, Silver age a Flash, ,GL, JSA, Key Showcase books and a ton of Action and Adventure books. I started dealing with Shelton in the 70's when he lived in Hickory, NC. Alas, in 1978 I went back to college and my collection helped pay my way. I do wish I still had those books but they helped me when I needed help. I really enjoy watching you have fun.
What an amazing collection you must have had! I’m sure you’re sad to have seen it go, but at least you put those books to good use and had the opportunity to own them for the time you did! Thanks for watching and I hope you can live vicariously through myself and some of these other UA-camrs!
Really enjoyed this video. You seem very genuine and I can relate to that. I was at Heroescon for first time this year got mostly signatures but did pick up an ASM 10. Anyway, will enjoy following your channel.
Thanks, man! I appreciate that! I’m glad you had a good time! ASM 10 is nothing to sneeze at, for sure. Who did you get signatures from and what did you get you get signed?
Great video. So glad for you that you got the Daredevil, like finding an old friend. Looked like a fantastic Con and you got to spent time with "Lady Lettuce" (that's her new superhero name) You got some great buys. Happy to be a new subscriber!!!
Exactly like an old friend. It was a great con and I’m really happy my friend “Lady Lettuce” was able to enjoy herself too! Thanks for subscribing! I hope you enjoy your stay here on my channel.
Fun show! Great to see someone else enjoying Captain America. I think what I like about Captain America besides his superhuman strength and agility and the fantastic way he handles the shield. Most of all he's a good guy with integrity and character!
Congrats on the pickups. Avengers 4 was one of my pickup my first year at HeroesCon. The deals and possibilities at Hereos is exactly why HeroesCon is my one Travel to destination Con on my list every year. Subbed you up.
I definitely didn’t expect so many reasonably priced books! There were a few tables that had books that were… I’ll be generous and say slightly overpriced. But for the most part all the vendors were rather fair! Thanks for watching and subbing me up! I appreciate it!
Hey this is my first time watching your show. Looks like you got some great deals on some awesome comics. I'm a Superman/ justice league fan and collector. Keep up the great job on your videos, and I will be watching again soon. Have a great day.
I watch A LOT of videos of Heroes Con. You did an amazing job, your footage of the show floor made me feel like I was there. Your story telling and pick ups were awesome. Great video and I look forward to more! 10/10!
Dude thank you so much! Was really self conscious about the footage I was able to get so I’m really really happy that folks like you seem to enjoy it! (You have a top tier channel name by the way)
Great video, dude! Congrats on the new subs and the view count! You should've totally showcased that Swamp Thing the other night! Amazing book and cover! Congrats again on the video success (and I guess the Avengers 4 as well)!
Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to make it up for terrificon… which really sucks because I would love to meet everybody and hang out. That might change but it doesn’t look likely. Hopefully everyone still decides to go next year?
Those are some great books you got for some amazing prices. I dream of finding an Avengers 4 for a price like that. I know from talking with you that was a book you were targeting and I’m so happy you were able to get one. Congratulations
Great video! Congrats on the Avengers and other great deals! Heroes is definitely a great con. I was there for one day and a couple of long lines killed a lot of time. I still had a great time and got some things done! Hope to run into you out there next year.
Congrats on the Big book Avengers 4! Great finds after you big grail too. I need to pickup the Daredevil 37 for my Doom covers collection, I keep passing on it when I see them. I do the Eye Test or I call it 2 foot test, all the time. Love it! Looks like it was a great Con and you had fun.
@@LettuceComics the 2 foot term is used a lot in tabletop minature gaming, like Warhammer, one of my other money sucking hobbies. Used to describe how good the minis paint job is. Go for it and inbrace it!!!😆
As a fellow Cap fan, I dig your haul. Scoring that Avengers 4 is a huge win. I'm still after one. I had a great time at HeroesCon as well and scored plenty of fantastic books. Happy comic hunting!
If you’re patient you can find a good one for a great price! I’ve had alerts on my comic shop, eBay, and mercari for months. I just didn’t pull the trigger until I found the right copy for the right price.
Dude (this is formally GamereEmporium) sounds like you had a great experience at heroes con? You are a Captain America lover like myself!❤ and lunchmoneycomics subbed to you! I love that guy! Also congrats on your Avengers 4 grail!
Happy for you getting the books that you went there to get. I love Heroes Con, it’s by far the biggest con I go to so I don’t really have another to compare it to though. I couldn’t make it this year but the guy that runs my LCS picked up a Rocketeer print from Billy Tucci and had him sign it for me. I’m enjoying the videos, keep it up and I went and subscribed to Bone Claws as well.
This was my first time going to the big show and I’m fairly certain it’s going to be an annual thing from here on out. I had a blast. So awesome that your LCS got you that print! I really appreciate you viewing and I REALLY appreciate you showing Bone Claws some love!
Yep that’s a good haul there that’s how it’s done! A huge grail acquired there I can feel your excitement and energy. Being able to slowly build your collection. I felt that too. because that’s what I do. My collection it’s like a puzzle that I am slowly plugging one piece one comic in at a time until I solve my puzzle the run of comics or until I am happy with it or until I get burnt out and take a break from it.
That’s the neat thing right? Because there isn’t a finish line, you get to decide what makes you happy and what, how, and when you want. Thanks for watching!
Nothing wrong with reprints at all! I had the true believers reprint of Avengers 4 before now and I was really happy I actually got to turn the pages of that story and not just read it on a screen.
Loved your video. I can appreciate your enthusiasm for your books. I got to meet Larry Hama at Heroscon and it was everything I had hoped for years. I assume you live in Greenville area based on your comments in live in Spartanburg. Happy hunting.
Heroes con is the best con on the east coast. I bought plenty this year. Did you see the Comic Curing Cancer booth? Congratulations on getting Avengers 4.
I completely forgot to visit their booth and that’s one of the things I’m most disappointed by honestly. Great cause and a great excuse to spend some money. The next show they’re at, I’ll make it a point to go by.
6'3 300lbs here as well. I have been hot natured for my whole life but the medication I started taking around a year ago makes me sweat even more. At least I have an excuse now, haha.
Avengers 4 is a BIG book in any condition, and I know Jeff will give it the love it deserves to breathe some life back into it (I've heard that he really likes fancy chocolates and foot massages, if you want to give him a special thank you). Great pick-ups, all around. That DD is one of my favorite books from the silver age DD run...I'm also a sucker for Doom covers. Great video, my man!
I think a foot massage for Jeff would be more of a gift for me than him, Doug! Thank you for watching! I really appreciate all the comments you leave me!
I went to and had a ton of fun. We went for very different reasons which is cool. I don’t collect singles. I went to have my collected editions signed, get free (mostly) sketches. Buy one sketch. Find some cool interesting books that I haven’t checked out yet. Meet creators and chat with them, maybe buy art or original comic pages
Oh that’s really neat! I’m not sure I’ve met a comic collector who doesn’t collect floppies. That’s why I’m glad this convention had a healthy mix of stuff. There was definitely something there for everyone.
@@LettuceComics oh there’s a ton that don’t collect singles. Many just buy collected editions . Personally I’m a reader more tab anything. Long boxes etc take up so much space and I don’t want my wife to kill me
Good video, subbed! There are few comic "collector" videos in the sea of "speculator" videos. Question... isn't the door kind of close to the comic wall if someone swings the door open?
Hey thanks for checking me out! I can’t do the speculator thing. No shade to those that do, it’s just not the side of the hobby I’m interested in. It is close but that’s the closet where I keep all my books and I’ve got a doorstop on it. Also my wife is terrified of messing up my books so she doesn’t mess with that closet.
Congrats on the Avengers 4 book! Always a big adrenaline rush for me when I aquire valuable or hard to find books of my favorite Lobo... Nice on the Sandman 2! A book I don't have yet and I'm trying to collect the entire run. I would encourage anyone that enjoys the first 12 issues of Sandman to read to the end of issue 37. That makes up the 1st omnibus and is a fantastic story that flows and ties all in together very well. Issues 38-75 make up omnibus 2, it's much more disjointed and slower to read with less direction... Everyone who likes comics at all should experience the first 12 issues of Sandman though. Issue 4 is high on my list of greatest single issue stories ever told.
I forgot to actually say it, but I wanted to read the first twelve because that’s where the Netflix show ends. I’ve heard that’s great, but I want to read it first
@LettuceComics the Netflix show is good and very true to the Comics. I would expect nothing less since Neil Gaiman actually directs it or he's just consulting the crew about it. The Comics are better in my opinion but that doesn't take away from the show.
Oh man… this video hit all the high notes: great con, great music, GREAT pick ups (here’s me looking at you avengers 4) great humor… I could go on. Not gonna lie, it hurts a little to hear what higher grade avengers 4 go for at cons. I’m not too keen on the $1k price tag for a 3.0 and above. But, it was my goal book in December, and I feel as if I need to end this year somehow with it. Thanks for taking us along on the journey my friend 🤙
@@upnorthcomics if I’m not I’ll straight up be offended haha! Best of luck to you (and I’ll dm you some leads if I happen across any in the channels I’ve been searching)

Always when I see comic con videos like this I always try to find me .......... I didn;t this time, lol
There’s always next year!
great pick up on the Avengers 4 . good con footage. thanks
Thanks for watching dude!
Great haul. 👊.
Thanks dude!
Great pick ups, congratulations on the Avengers 4
Thank you!
Congrats on your grail man. This one´s a bit out of my range for now. but I´ll get there
Thanks dude! I’ve been saving for a long while and finally made it happen. You’ll get there!
I was a reader and collector. I ended up getting reprints of the books I liked. It's a fun hobby.
Nothing wrong with reprints at all! I had the true believers reprint of Avengers 4 before now and I was really happy I actually got to turn the pages of that story and not just read it on a screen.
Congrats on your grail dude!! Also maybe have mike from lcs tell ypu where he got his hands free mount he uses for hunting comic boxes
That’s one of the ideas that I have! Definitely want to be able to get more and better footage for you guys for all of the support you’ve given me!
Loved your video. I can appreciate your enthusiasm for your books. I got to meet Larry Hama at Heroscon and it was everything I had hoped for years. I assume you live in Greenville area based on your comments in live in Spartanburg. Happy hunting.
Hey thanks! I’m glad you had a great experience as well! That sounds awesome!
Next con I’m going with a hat, bandana, shirt fan, and a eunuch with a palm frond to follow me around.
@@LettuceComics That’s a solid strategy. I’ve definitely thought about a portable fan. It’s 97 degrees out!
Congratulations 🎉🎊🍾🎈
Thank you!
Long boxes etc take up so much space and I don’t want my wife to kill me
Jeez I understand that
Good video, subbed!
I love HeroesCon, I think MJ might be the same dealer I got some great stuff from too 😀
His booth was great! A lot of big stuff but all reasonably priced and really well organized!
Oh and of course, CONGRATS!! 🎉
Thanks dude! If you’re patient, you can get one for a decent price. It’ll happen for you!
@@LettuceComics you’ll be the first to know if it does dude 🫶
@@upnorthcomics if I’m not I’ll straight up be offended haha! Best of luck to you (and I’ll dm you some leads if I happen across any in the channels I’ve been searching)
@@LettuceComics appreciated homie!
Congrats on the Avengers 4 man!
Thank you! I sincerely doubt this is the last time it will feature on my channel. I’m gonna be telling the check out clerk at the grocery store about it for a few years I’m sure.
If you want Avengers 64 i'd mail it out just for the hell of it. Even have Luke Cage # 2
I appreciate the thought! You can reach out to me on instagram if you like?
Love love love that you got Avengers #4!!! But wait....did your husband ever come home from the war?!!! 🤔🙄😉😁😁
I think this book is my new husband…
@@LettuceComics LMAO! 🤣 ... and OMG, one of those Cap comics you have is VERY Special to me! I will make sure to bring that up when I do my Cap Vid! 😁
@@SonOfCrom-1932 please do!
oh you showed that on mon's live show it hurt then it hurts now. I need to that book i want that book.
It will come for you!
Big dawg 💪
Leveling up,my guy!
@@LettuceComics I see you fam 🙏 mad respect congrats 💪
I'm in a Discord comic group, I started a book club and we just the first volume of Sandman. I regret not reading that series sooner, it honestly didn't originally look appealing to me and it has some of the most bland covers. Sandman is exactly what everyone says about it, it's amazing writing and amazing artwork.
Exactly! I’d heard about it forever but never actually bothered to read it.
Bro I sweat too you need more magnesium
Hand to god, I’m going to CVS after work. You might have just done something.
Nobody wants you dripping sweat all over their Comics!
I was doing my best I swear
