This shows you when it’s focused on the comics and actual comic creators… the general public does not flock to these cons. They want the tv/movie celebrities. Plus, the general public is done with the comic culture…they have moved on. This looks like a great actual comic show.
It was about time if you ask me. The " normies " don't even care about the product anyway. They simp either for the actors/actresses or their far left political agenda. Super hero comic books have to return back to OUR hands! The people, the fans, the paying customers who love and care about the characters, their moral code, their values, their ideals and their struggles.
I disagree, there were plenty of attendees, it just wasn't too crowded, part of which is due to the size of the convention center, which was perfect. Saturday was by far the busiest but still not too bad. The nice thing is that the people there were actual comic fans and it is a great environment. Highly recommended.
I was there Friday and actually am in this video a couple times...lol. You are right, this was a great con to be at. A true collectors convention. And, you are correct, you need more than one day. That is all I had but next year I plan to return with more money and to spend another half day at least there. This was my first time at HeroesCon and my only regret is I did not go sooner. Better late than never.
Back in 2019 it was packed shoulder to shoulder with cosplayer and Funko Pop crap everywhere but when they did the comeback show after covid they opened up a whole other section of the floor and pushed the cosplayer stuff to the back. It's so much better now, there's more room to move around and 10x more comics. I was there for 6 hours on Saturday and only managed to see a 1/4 of the comic vendors.
@@Stickygoose I've gone almost every year since '91 and it's always been a great show but ever since the rise of the cosplayer it's been an overcrowded mess. Great video and nice pickups. It didn't look that busy there, which is a bonus, I might make the trip out there next year. Fan expo and comic con in Toronto is so packed that you can't even breath.
Yes, like others are mentioning -nice to see a comic book convention that's mostly about comic books. The crowd of this show was what the San Diego con was like in the 90's. I think even around 2001 you could pull into the show a couple hours after it opened and park in the actual convention center lot for $15 and walk right into the show after that initial line went down. The deals, back then, were always on the last day of the show.
Best show I've ever been to. If a person couldn't find what they were looking for.. they weren't trying. Inner geek BLEW ME AWAY. An absolute world class show ✌🏾
It was a fun convention. The family enjoyed it and I meet many of my friends. Yes, you should have brought something to trade. Everyone was trading, even Metropolis.
That's a convention I would sell at as a tiny little vendor. I sell mostly modern age stuff so I price it to $1 for regular covers, $2 for variants, and $5 for incentive variants (verify with customer it is indeed an incentive) and everything else has a price tag on it from CP and average eBay sale.
I was the big guy in the black shirt in the Dream Haven booth when you walked in there. I had my head down digging and didn't realize it was you. Small world. Glad you enjoyed heroes con.
You can see me at 7:31 to 7:35. The guy behind the guy asking about the Little Dot #1. I saw ya,I even asked them which appreance it was. This year heroscon was a blast!! Great coverage.

Bro, I'm sorry I missed you there, I love heroescon, we have been going for years and always enjoy it. Sorry about the accident, there was some shitty traffic in NC.
I have attended Heroes con every year since 1997 and everyonce in awhile before that going back to the first one in 1982. It has always Been comic centered even when the people tried to come in during the early mid 2000's with the swords, cos play costumes, etc. Nothing wrong with that stuff but it didn't sell at Heroes con so those vendors moved on. You mentioned you were the mid to low grade silver age guy. Me too. I buy mine to read so I don't want to feel guilty taking it out of the bag to read so I just don't buy those high grade books. I WILL buy a reader copy and one to put up on some books but that's only with books that have some significance and are worth investing in. Enjoyed the video.
He looked more like Kenny Rogers…he didn’t happen to start singing… “You've got to know when to hold 'em Know when to fold 'em Know when to walk away And know when to run…” And then ask you to stop for fried chicken.
I added a stack of books from Heroes to the collection. Found good deals on books in the 20-50 dollar range. Not too many people giving deals for wall books though. Most places charging $10-$20 over fmv then give you $20 off and act like it’s a deal. Overall good event but I found better deals at the Micro-Con in Concord a few months ago
A lot of valuable comics available and you see the same comics in every convention video. It seems every dealer has all the major silver and bronze age comics for sale. In your opinion, do you think people are just offloading collections on the cheap or is no one paying high prices? Looks like you got some good deals by the way.

They usually have a sign that says all their books are 15% off sticker. Too bad all their books are marked up at least 20%. This year at C2E2 they had an X-Men #1 in 5.0 priced at 33K.
