Impressive haul Rob! Love all the ToS books and congrats on your big boy book!
Yes, the Tales of Suspense have been a bunch of fun to seek out.
Hell of a haul this year Rob! Always a pleasure to see ya!!
It was not in the same league as the previous year, but it wasn't any slouch either.
congrats! cant believe your luck you always come away with the best congrats. wish i could have been there, but unfortunately i cant afford the trip. i hope to one day but dont know. great video and pickups always a great video from you rob!
Appreciate the sentiment, but I don't think its luck as much as it is determination and perseverance. Hope you can make one time in the future.
Amazing haul Rob!!! Awesome commissions. Wow, look at that JLA book! Presents really well. Great grab. ✌
The Brave and the Bold book has most of the grade hit on the back cover where there is a corner missing, but the front looks really good.
The Mysterio sketch cover looks like an official cover. It's stunning. That is a unique and one of a kind piece.
Chris Campana has been doing some covers for some of the Spider titles, so that doesn't surprise me at all. He nailed it for sure.
Great additions to the box.I hope I win soon on a upcoming Saturday.
It's been a LONG while since I was picked. 😢 I think I'm due. 😊😅🤡🫡
Fingers crossed!
I had to pause the video for Show Us What You Got! Holy moly how cool is that Magnus Robot Fighter!!! Unbelievable. A brilliant idea executed perfectly.
Agreed, came here to say the same. I was laughing my head off, pure genius!
I know!! If it weren't for the Brave and the Bold, it could have been the gem of the con.
Awesome PC gets. I think all the artwork was FANTASTIC!
I especially liked the JLA Grail. One of these days...........😅🤡
Thanks for watching!
I will definitely go into next year's event more prepared. It was overwhelming for a first timer like myself lol. It was great meeting you and great job on the Comics Curing Cancer booth. Great haul and sketchs!
Yes, my first time at HeroesCon I was blown away. The only thing I dislike about it is that I live so far away. This prevents me from digging too much in the small books as its not worth transporting them home. HeroesCon for me is all about hunting bigger books and the creators. The other thing that stands out is the sheer lack of modern books compared to Bronze and Silver.
Great pick ups Rob. I think I might be hooked on the sketch covers now. Love the Mysterio cove and the Rocketeer.
I blame Chris for getting me hooked on them, so you can blame him too for getting me hooked, and thereby getting you hooked.
That's some good shopping. There were so many dealers and books. And plenty were ready to make deals and move comics.
HeroesCon is by far the king of Cons for comic book collectors. Every vendor there had good stuff, and if their prices were high, they tended to know it, and would deal accordingly. Its why it continues to be the one Con I travel across the country to attend.
Great Hall, Rob. And excellent work on getting that Brave and the Bold 28 at the price you wanted.
Thank you. Its important when looking for bigger books and going to these conventions to have a plan. Also when you find the book you like and the price is fair, strike, while you might find a slightly better deal later in the day, there is never the guarantee, and that book may disappear. Ultimately, have a plan. Cheers.
That last book was super-cool, like your story telling Rob of all the books you bought! That Futurama was wicked!
Appreciate that. I do try to differentiate my unboxings from others with a little bit of story telling, good to hear it is enjoyed.
A great Haul from Heroescon. It was a pleasure to meet you (again) and the rest of the crew from C3. Chris Campana is a great guy. He did a great Dare Devil sketch for me. Like you I love getting sketch covers there. I also picked up 3 of my hunt books there, Bloodstone #1 (CGC 9.8), New Mutants #87 (CGC 9.8) and DC Comics presents #26 (CGC 9.6). Over all I am very pleased with my experience there this year. Keep up the great work and awesome videos.
Yes! HeroesCon was legit. Congrats on your pickups, and here is to next year!
Strange Worlds is my favorite book of the haul. Great stuff as always!
Figured you like that, I can't believe I almost left the con without a SciFi book.
Great haul of book. Awesome prices for sketches
Thanks Izzy, I think next year I may focus most of my attention on commissions.
@@Robs.fatstax the prices were surprisingly low. That’s awesome
Great haul video! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Concerning the Frankenstein book, keep it! That way you have stopped it from being recirculated/resold.
Nice books, like the second app. of Hawkeye cover. 🎉
That is a good point.
Fantastic haul. Hope to help out C3 again this year. I’ll be in touch. That B&B 28 is my one
Missing JLA volume 1 book. Yours looks great. Congrats.
Thank you Joe, your continued support of Comics Curing Cancer is much appreciated.
Congratulations and enjoy. Definitely keep the “Frankenstein” whip lash issue: great conversation piece. And wow on the Magnus/Harrison book! And wow on the ToS 75. Great history there. And the Strange Worlds is an amazing cover. Great JLA1. Looks great
I tell you, I am still living on a high from that Con, so much good stuff as you pointed out. Appreciate you taking the time to watch. Cheers.
Great set of donations for C3. Great haul. Love the Mysterio sketch cover.
Chris Campana kills it with nearly everything Spider-Man related.
Great stuff Rob, getting me hooked on sketches. My wife and Bank account are displeased with you. Always loved Mysterio, underrated visually. SO much can be done with the cape, smoke, reflections in bubble. Nice originals sir!
Yes, watching other collectors can put a dent in the wallet. OnlySlabs has cost me a great deal of money....lol
It was awesome meeting you, sir. I will be there all three days next year as opposed to this year being there for one awesome pick ups.
Sounds great!
I can’t understand how we spend so much time together and I only saw a fraction of those books lol. Fantastic pickups sir! The Bill Morrison piece is exceptional!!!
You and me both! I mean, I never even saw your Spider-Man book.
That scarecrow sketch is dope!!
Agreed, be sure to give the artist a follow, his info is linked in the description.
That was a great haul, those sketches are fire. 1st Justice League very nice a jaw dropper. Now the Hawkeye comic with the different insides, please do a video it will help other collectors, showing them what to look for and to always check your books when buying.
That is a great idea. Look for that video down the road.
That Scarecrow sketch is unreal for $50! Congrats on the 1st JLA!
Appreciate that, I am glad everyone is digging that Scarecrow cover. The artist is linked in the description.
Such a great haul! To answer your question, that Tales of Suspense Frankenstein-ed book should totally go in the givvy box! At least I know I wouldn’t be mad if I won it.
Interesting that the community is split on this one. Very interesting.
I forgot...If you put the "Frankenstein " book in the giveaway box, I wouldn't mind owning it. Thanks for sharing, Rob.
At 11:03 Rob proves he legit hates my guts as a human being, sharing the planet with him.
Hate is a strong word, more like I enjoy having fun with your reactions.
@@Robs.fatstax 😁😁😁
Awesome pick ups 💯👍
Appreciate it
I'm late to the watch but Transformers #5. The Grail of Grails for me. And Transformers # 8...amazing. Someone is going to be very lucky. And that Mysterio sketch cover is phenomenal.
Giving away those Transformers books will be almost as sweet as when we gave away issue 1. Check out OnlySlabs on Saturday's for your chance to win.
Awesome pick ups Brother 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Huge Congrats 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks a bunch
It goes without saying that Brave and the Bold is incredible but 50 Bucks for that Scarecrow sketch cover is nuts! Absolute bangers all round sir. Thanks
I agree, $50 was a steal. That is the joy about finding new artists with very little published work under their belts. You get far more value out of the art.
Congrats on B&B 28, Cash is King !!!
At the Con, it always is.
Nice pick ups! 👍
Glad you like them!
You never cease to amaze! Wow! Sketch covers including the Batman, Rocketeer, Scarecrow, Magnus w/Bender! Signed books, giveaway bangers, Tales of Suspence books/slab, and first appearance of The Justice League of America! Amazing, Rob, amazing. Thanks for sharing! #OnlySlabs #GreatestGiveawayBox
That sir is one heck of a statement, thank you. sir.
great stuff, bro. glad you had a nice time there. made some good memories. #OnlySlabs #ROADTO3K
No doubt! Only the best!
That’s a fantastic price for that Futurama commission two full figures and color
The one time I met Neal Adams he did a Remarque looking Scarlett Witch no color very quick basic detail $200
I made Neal Adams laugh cause I was surprised how fast he finished that sketch and I said it helps you have a few years experience under your belt 😂
$500 I would’ve been all in as well for 2 full characters and color
Congrats on that Brave and the Bold
I am extremely happy with the Bill Morrison piece. Every time I look at it, the more pleased I am. Thanks.
Have you ever did a comic room tour video?
I have not, the wall behind me is 80% of the comics in the room, you just can't see the top row on camera. All of the rest of my books are secured in my storage room, which is not exciting, unless you like looking at shelves.
Being absolutely the BIGGEST Iron Man fan you've never met, and someone looking who has been on the hunt for Tales of Suspense #97 (the first "old" Iron Man book I bought as a kid in the '70's, and I believe it cost me $1.50 of my hard-earned allowance money), you should just give me the book. You'd be a happier man in doing so. :)
Food for thought, especially if I run out of happiness.
giveaway that Frankenstein book lol. I would like to look through it lol.
Someone suggested making a video going through it, and I may do that.
Bro no way I saw u there!
Did you now. Did you see from the distance or did you introduce yourself?
@@Robs.fatstax nah I didn’t introduce I’m not a big social person unfortunately, but now I wish I did cause u seem pretty chill
Question for you Rob: For Investment purposes is it better to have multiple copies of a lower grade slab or single copies of a higher grade? I have 2 Batman 423 9.4 and thinking of selling for a 9.6, likewise I have 3 ASM 252 9.6 thinking of selling for a 9.8. Can you assist in regards to the best investment strategy in these situations?
Cheers and thanks!
I really do not think of comic books as an investment, so I would be the wrong person to provide guidance. Ultimately I would think it depends on how old the book is and how much a high grade copy sells for.
@@Robs.fatstax I guess it boils down to the rate of appreciation? Do higher grades, not just (obv) sell for more, but appreciate faster. Apologies the bunch of questions mate. Im old to comics, new to getting back into and unfortunately the budget is very limited so yours is forced to make the hobby pay for itself as much as possible. Just know your interaction with your viewers, your community, assistance with questions and advice, is genuinely appreciated. A joy to watch and my personal thanks for the engagement mate.
Cheers ears, Julian.
Welcome to the BB28 club bro!!!
Thank you sir. It took me a while, but here I am.
