  • Hi everyone,
    This is how I find my start point after running out of bobbin thread or I have a thread break. Most people think this is much harder than it really is, and once you get the hang of it, you will become a pro in no time. I hope you enjoy and thank you for watching. Me too! Great that Adam showed each step slowly. Too many just go click, click, click and you have to replay it several times to catch it all! Thanks Adam!

    Question for you, do you ever resume stitching without turning off the auto start button? Is that a big No No?

    Just love all your videos. When my thread breaks or I run out of bobbin my gears don’t disengage and I cannot move my machine unless I cancel so then I don’t have a resume option. Is this the only way?

    • @adamsewfun.
      @adamsewfun.  Рік тому +2

      So, you are doing it the way I would do it now. I cancel out, fix the thread and set up my new start point and go for it. If you don't want to cancel out and want to be able to resume, there is a padlock (not the gears button!) on the top right side of the screen. It will be under the information "I" When PS is running and you pause or it stops, the padlock is locked. If you tap it, it will unlock and you can move the machine.

    Have you ever had this happen and Prostitcher wouldn’t acknowledge that you chose a new start point and kept trying to return to the beginning of that row? That kept happening to me on Friday and I had to shut the whole thing down.

      I have had PS do some weird things to me. Usually if it's not doing what it's told, I try to baseline again. It's a little different if you are doing and e2e because it won't let you baseline if you are in the middle of a stitch out. Did you try to cancel out of the stitch out, set your new point, and try again? Sometimes that works for me when it acts weird. At the end of the day, it's a computer and we are at its mercy.

    What do you do if you place your cross hairs, hit auto but the new start doesn’t move to where your cross hairs are? I am stitching out the spiral square and the new start wants to place itself at the corner and wont allow me to nudge it where I want the new start to be. TYIA!

      MaryBeth, you are using version 506 or before. In those versions, you can only pick a new point this is on a design node in the way the design was digitized. Any point on a straight line you have to pick the starting point on that line. With the update, you can now pick any point on the line.

    • @adamsewfun.
      @adamsewfun.  2 роки тому

      You should turn it on and turn it off. You don’t want it to stay in.

    I had a thread break and had to shut down and leave before I could reposition. Does this method work if I start up again and set the new start where the thread broke? If not is there a video that will help me start again?

    • @adamsewfun.
      @adamsewfun.  2 роки тому +1

      Lynda, you first have to reposition the design into the correct place, then you can find your new start like this. I have a video called Reposition after a motor error, that will show you have to line everything back up. Then you can use this method to get your start point to the exact point on your quilt you want to start at. Hope they help!!!

    New bee here what does "hand winding my own bobbin" mean? several teachers say this, so I thought I would ask.

    • @adamsewfun.
      @adamsewfun.  Рік тому +1

      Just that I wind my own with the bobbin winder. Many people will purchase the prewound bobbins but I like to do it myself so I have a larger selection of colors.
