Hi Adam! I know you made these videos a long time ago, so I hope you still see comments from them. I just have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video series. They are SO helpful with teaching me how to use my new longarm machine (an Amara 20 ❤). I’ve successfully quilted two quilts now, following your videos from start to finish. When I’m retreating to my quilt room, I tell my husband “I’m going to hang out with my good buddy Adam”! You’re a wonderful teacher and your passion for helping others shows. I hope to meet you in person at the Paducah Quilt show next week!
This just made my day. When you get to the point you don’t have to watch a video and remember all the steps, you have to let me know. Happy quilting!!!!!
Your videos, including the Edge to Edge, Part 1 and Part 2 and this video on cropping have been a tremendous help for me. I love the way you teach. I understand it.
So glad I can help. Just work for the day that you can do it all alone! Those are the days I love for my students, it's in there, I just help to bring it out.
Your videos are so helpful. I refer to them all the time. Thank you for taking the time to make them. Without your videos I would be lost. I love your teaching style, so easy to understand and follow.
Brand new Amara owner here. I’ve watched lots of your videos. You have a great, down-to-Earth style and explain things without a lot of fluff. I’m heading to my LA to finish my 1st quilt and will be using your cropping method. Keep the great videos coming!
Congrats on your new machine, you are going to love it. Just in case you didn't see it, I am going to be doing some Zoom classes in December. You can see details at www.adamsewfun.com/events
I am so happy that I found you on UA-cam! I am trying to figure out Pro Stitcher Lite. Up to now, had only been using the videos by PS. Even the store where I purchased PSL can’t answer my questions. I have had several “OHHH, I get it now!!!!” moments after watching you explain stuff - what a relief. Thank you so much for helping me!!!
Thank you so much for your videos. I just got my Amara in January and was doing fairly well. Then life got busy in April, May and June. I am finally back to quilting and could not remember how to crop. Your video showed how simple it is. Thank you again.
Thank you for this well-done, logical progression group of videos. I like the ‘table’ concept for pinning the backing to the belly bar. Also like your illustration of the burrito method for properly attaching the backing to the take-up bar. The idler bar is a new feature for me, I’m sure your method can save time.
Thank-you Adam for this information.....You explained this more simply, concise and in a step, by step order that I can make my own checklist !!! The learning curve for pro-stitcher is quite steep for my feeble brain!!! thank-you again, please keep teaching !!
Adam you made me laugh it's above your pay rate so funny. Will have to watch this one a few times I got lost but I am sure I will get it. Thanks for all your video's Cheers from Australia.
This video answered my exact problem. Thank you Adam. I am so glad you explained how to stitch to the next start instead of cutting, on the part off of the quilt. Such a good thing to remember for next time. Thank you so much! Janet Chosa
Thanks, Adam for your great tutorials. I just finished a quilt to the final pass but I think I didn’t estimate enough length to do a proper crop. It acted like it was back at the top and so the closed edge was now stitched at the top of the design instead of off the bottom. I wonder if I’d added several inches to the new area and then cropped outside. Maybe that’s where I made the big boo-boo?
Awesome! I’ve watched the whole series from the loading video. I’m grateful you have decided to do this! I don’t own a Handiquilter longarm yet, but here’s hoping. However, a lot of your tips and tricks are very helpful to any long arm quilter. I am using a friend’s Juki 2200QVP. It’s old, not fancy, but I can still use your methods to achieve the best possible result. The bonus for me is that I can practice all these on our Philanthropic Quilts! Quality quilting for Children’s Hospitals, cancer centers, hospice centers, veterans, etc. Others in the guild do the piecing, but I want my quilting to be the best it can be. Thank you Adam!
Newbie with Amara, you mentioned in a previous comment that you repositioned before you cropped but I didn't hear anything about that in this video, did I miss something?? I love your videos and I listen to every word, Thanks for your awesome work!!
I love your instructional videos Adam. I had never heard of using my versa-tool to help me with the basting especially on the bottom but it makes so much sense. Thank you, thank, thank!!
So good to find your channel. I’m learning so much. My new HQ long arm was delivered two days ago. You’re a very clear and concise teacher great job. But it drives me CRAZY how much you say “um”-possibly hundreds of times per video. I realize it’s habit. Keep the videos coming!!
Thank you, Adam! I’ve learned tons from you and now I’m asking you for another tutorial. ((If there is one already done, please tell me.) I’ve watched many Prostitcher videos and I see many zoom used but everyone goes so fast I can’t tell how zoom works. I get the buttons and the commands but it never seems to take me to where I need to see up close. When the design is close, I can’t find my needle. I hope this makes sense.
I remember trying to make everything fit and pulling my hair out. This is so much easier and faster. It takes a minute to get it but once you know how to do it, so quick. DON'T FORGET THE FINAL BASELINE AFTER THE CROP!!!!
I would just like to say that if you closed your edges under modify when you cropped out what you didn’t want to stitch it would stitch along that bottom on a straight line its self.
I actually did close the edges. How crop works, sometimes it does some funny things when you crop desings intersections (start/stop) point out. It depends on the design and how it’s cropped
Love your videos. So helpful and easy to follow. I have tried this method twice and got the same results both times. I am doing something wrong consistently! The top of my cropped row gets the straight stitching across from point to point and the bottom of the row stitches out. What step am I missing? Thanks Adam!
Sorry for the delayed response. I was in Dallas teaching when this came through and just getting around to responding to things. It's hard to answer without seeing a photo, or being there but it sounds like you are either cropping the row in the wrong place (the top) or not moving the start point to the correct row to start. Will you send me an email and we can troubleshoot and try to get to the bottom of the issue.
Hi Adam! Did you reposition before you did the crop? I'm guessing that you did. BTW - your repositioning technique has made that process so much more intuitive for me.
Adam...I set up a simple meander for my quilt, then cropped the outside. There are a bunch of starts & stops and looong jump stitches. How can I fix this?
Hi Adam! Thank you for this video, extremely helpful! My question is does this pertain to designs which start at the bottom of the design or do need to do something different? Thank you for your help - Weezie
The only thing that changes when the pattern starts on top or bottom, so where the start point is made when you crop off the final row. It works both ways. You just have to remember to move your start point to the right row you want to stitch after cropping.
Do you keep your ruler base on while you are doing an edge to edge? And you mentioned classes in a video, are these online classes or in person? I jus flip back and forth between your videos and I am learning. like the previous comment below...keep them coming as they are so helpful! Thank you!

Yes just followed your instructions on my quilt and it works love it
Thank you Kathy
Thanks for all you help! You videos are great! Completed my first pro stitcher quilt with your help!

BEST. TRICK. EVER! You explained this technique so well, I was able to use it successfully the very first time I tried it! Thank you.
Thank you for watching Judi and glad it worked out for you. I always tell people it takes a few times but then it's like riding a bike.
Wish I would have watched this again earlier. Thank you for the help!!
Thank you so much for your videos. Your instruction is so easy to follow. I love that you show the screen of the Prostitcher.
Awesome. Thank you. Very helpful.

Just play with it. Remember, it's just quilting and I expect you to have fun!!!
Your videos are the best!! Thank you so much bc I was stumped on this one but now it’s all Quilted and ready for binding 😅
Thanks Adam.. it worked.
Adam you made me laugh it's above your pay rate so funny. Will have to watch this one a few times I got lost but I am sure I will get it. Thanks for all your video's Cheers from Australia.

I did a lot of practice on charity quilts. Also, quick panel quilts are another perfect way to practice.
Once again ❤, thank you. You’re the best!
Adam - your videos are so thorough, you're a GREAT teacher! Thank you!!
Thanks so much for the kind words
Extremely helpful. I’ve been trying to figure this problem out for months! After sewing over my leaders twice in 2 days, I found you! Oh, happy day!
Oh that makes me so happy. Make sure to share the video, tell your friend and follow me on Facebook and Instagram, I'm always posting fun things.
Brilliant!
Oh my gosh I did it. Right on target!!!!!! Thank you so much.
You are going to be a master in no time!!
Newbie with Amara, you mentioned in a previous comment that you repositioned before you cropped but I didn't hear anything about that in this video, did I miss something?? I love your videos and I listen to every word, Thanks for your awesome work!!
I didn’t show it in this video but there is a video for the method I use, reposition Drag and Drop.
I love your instructional videos Adam. I had never heard of using my versa-tool to help me with the basting especially on the bottom but it makes so much sense. Thank you, thank, thank!!
Thank you! You are so helpful!
This was super helpful! Love the way that you teach. Thank you so much!
Thanks Loriann, I try to teach it the way I would want to learn.
Thank you. So easy to follow.

Check the Playing in ProStitcher Playlist and I believe it’s on video 1, the screen
Thank you so much, you explain it so well!!
Thank you Judy, I try to tell it how I would need to hear it to learn.
Thank you about the ruler to stabilize the quilt.
You explained it so well. Thankyou
Thanks for watching Anne!!
Great video...thanks for taking the time to put this together! This is something i really need to start doing :)

Thank you!!!
This was very helpful!
Thanks Suzy!!
Adam, what if I use the snappers on my top/bottom versus pins, Could you address that for me? Thanks so much!
I would just like to say that if you closed your edges under modify when you cropped out what you didn’t want to stitch it would stitch along that bottom on a straight line its self.

Hi Adam! Did you reposition before you did the crop? I'm guessing that you did. BTW - your repositioning technique has made that process so much more intuitive for me.
Yes, reposition for that final pass, then crop.
Did you do drag and drop first
Adam...I set up a simple meander for my quilt, then cropped the outside. There are a bunch of starts & stops and looong jump stitches. How can I fix this?
Did you close your edges? If you watch the Setting up E2E video, I think I talk about it in the setup process.
When it stitches across the bottom do you want it on the very edge of the quilt or off the edge?
I usually come off the quilt a bit but there is nothing wrong with stitching at edge. It’s all personal preference.
Do you have your ruler base on also?
Absolutely, never use a ruler with the base. It’s the #1 ruler.
Hi Adam! Thank you for this video, extremely helpful! My question is does this pertain to designs which start at the bottom of the design or do need to do something different?

I do keep my ruler base on almost all the time. You do loose about an inch or so of quilting space, so if it's needed, I will take it off.
@@adamsewfun. Thank you!
Do you have a ruler base on to use the versa tool
Always, can’t use rulers without the base.
