nice, i actually have an 1890's house where there's still an untouched room full of this finish i kinda like and would like to restore. even some parts of walls, i was amazed when i found out it was just painted plaster. now i can go ahead and try it myself, thanks!!
Thank you for this! I want to ceruse my kitchen cabinets in a medium grey with white glazing, but the wood (not oak) doesn’t have much grain figuring, maple I think. This will be just the ticket! I’m going for a beach weathered look with dark granite countertops and wood flooring similar to the cabinets. The faux grain should look pretty sharp.
What color did you use on your solid base coat? I saw a video two months ago, where he sampled a few pieces with different colors, & went with what he thought was best, & agreed with him, based on the samples he was doing; Warm Caramel for the base, & the Dark Walnut stain.
WOW! I have a front door I would like to faux paint like this. How would the glaze would hold up on the exterior of the door? Is there anything special that I will need to do or use for the exterior side of the door? Thanks. I really enjoyed the video.
what I am not seeing anyone cover in these wood grain roller things.... is what products (varnishes/paints) to use OUTDOOR. Every video is about indoor projects
With the glazing it is not important want paint you add, you are only worried about the color. As a base coat I like using an alkyd wather based semi-gloss.

Very cool!
The hanging door inside panels were done with the graining tool, your demo, you used the spatula you made.

Such a fun channel!
17:17 "If I had a couple people helping I could do this door in a few minutes"
Yeah, me too! 😊
The end product is amazing 🤩
Hi...yes I think Jared does a great job with his painting. Thanks for watching, Wes
Excellent! It took me ages to find a video with talking.

Hi...I would suggest checking with your local paint provider for a durable non-yellowing, clear exterior top coat. Thanks for watching, Wes
@@WoodworkingWithWes PERFECT! I'll do just that! Thanks!
I have done 6 doors, but do not have the roller graining tool that you used. Where do you buy the little 2-inch roller spikes?
So very cool! Where can we buy the faux oak wood grain tool?
They have a great selection on Amazon. Thanks for watching, Wes
Where can I get that roller tool that you finished with?
Very nice work. Can this technique be used on an exterior facing door? Would the top coat have to be a spar finish?
Yes I have seen it done on exterior doors and I am sure an exterior grade top coat would be required. Thanks for watching, Wes
Be carefull a spar finish will change the overall color.
Good
Do you have a video for doing the floor that way
Hi...sorry I do not have a video for doing faux painting on a floor. Thanks for watching, Wes

Hi...sorry, my work is interior. Thanks, Wes
How do you mix This Color With Glaze ?
What's the best base paint to use

@@jaredwilly1 thank you 😊
What kind of pait is the base color ? Latex, enamel ? And what finish ? Satin or flat ?
I do not know about the base color...our purpose was to show the technique. Thanks, Wes
It was a latex semi gloss; However, an alkyd (water clean-up) paint would be better
sir,can you tell me the name of the paintnt or its specific name? Is it called the wood grain paint or something else?
moin wassergetragen verf oder terpentine?
Great video but the white shirt was stressing me out 😅
I have yet to find a supplier that carries glaze. Menards, lowes, home depot, ace hardware, sherwin williams etc...
Poor job for a demo!!!!!
