Im 72 and getting back into model building.i love your videos.reminds me of walking through our local hobby shop when i was a kid many years ago.thanks for the memories!
As a young man I was an arctic light infantry scout. During a training exercise we went into a LZ in Hueys at -30°F, that was probably the coldest moment of my life! The prop wash blew snow up my sleeves and down my collar. After getting our snowshoes on and moving out I was shedding layers within a half an hour. This was in 1986, we were still wearing wool with fishtail parkas. Thankfully I spent four years in the relative peace of the Cold War.
The old box art always makes you want to join up even if it's a cold winter scene. I have one of these in green plastic, not a bad shelf model, just needs nicer tires.
@ Most Renwal box art does not look like his style. Possible the Aero-skin series. There are many watchers that have more knowledge than I do so maybe someone will chime in on the subject.
@@mohawkdriver4155 Fantastic! The Mohawk always seemed like a fun assignment. Low and in the trees! 3rd generation USMC here. Bronco was our equivalent. I think they may even still be flying them.
@@CelebratingVintageModelKits The Marines retired them, but there's a couple groups out there that restore and fly Broncos. I would give anything to fly a Mohawk one more time.
Operation Deep Freeze? Wasn't that when they found a huge disk shaped object buried in the snow and they retrieved a strange figure frozen near it. They took the figure back to base in a huge block of ice! Which then began to thaw out.....! 🤣😆
@@alanmoss3603 Im not sure why they got so upset at the guest, all he wanted to do was scratchbuild under the shack the “aircraft” he used to get there! They reacted like my ex-wife when I asked for a hobby room!

@@jfu5222 Sounds like maybe those figures in the kit weren’t too far off then! Lol. Thanks for the comment and watching !
A wonderful little kit, and great presentation. 👏👏👏
@@MrDastardly Thanks again!
The sound of that styrene... very distinctive. So Revell.
@@farkinarkin5099 someone needs to make an ASMR video of vintage plastic!

@@CelebratingVintageModelKits I haven't followed the artists of box arts but they are neat.
Great video
Thanks!
I built a couple of these as a boy. Little did I know I would eventually become an Army pilot.
@@mohawkdriver4155 Let me guess…..Grumman OV-1s? Lol. I think model building started many a flying careers! Thanks for watching!
@@CelebratingVintageModelKits You guess correctly. Flew CH-47's for a few years before I transitioned to fixed wing aircraft. Retired in 2006.

@ They were using Broncos as borate bombers here in California. I think they used as the lead control ship now.
very cool!
@@collinmccallum Thanks! You got a pretty niffty channel too. More solid wood kits coming soon!
