- A look inside different aircraft designs and flying machines such as the X-24 Wingless Aircraft, M2-F1 Lifting Body, the Northrop M2-F2, and the Amazing Bartini Beriev VVA-14. Learn the secrets behind the Ryan X-13 Vertijet, the Dragonfly, or the HL-10.
In a little over a century, the aviation industry has gone from learning to fly to learning to fly faster, to learning to fly further, to learning to fly heavier planes, and now to having 100,000 plus commercial flights occurring worldwide every day. Aviation has indeed been at the forefront of innovation, and it has become one of the world's safest and most reliable modes of transportation today.
The video presents a brief but comprehensive overview of the variety of innovations related to aviation.
From ancient times onwards, flight has been a measure of scientific progress, a symbol of wealth and status, and a catalyst for interpersonal and international competition. It is a field that has been primarily pioneered by the dedication of individuals rather than corporations or governments for most of its history. The history of aviation is extensive and complicated, so much so that its entirety couldn’t be easily contained in any single written source.

tr😮
Always loved the X-29
And I’ve sat in the pilot’s chair in the spruce goose. It’s amazing.
Ever thought it look like a f-5 / f-20 ?
My favorite part of the whole video is the fact they took it airborne without permission and freaked everyone out, what absolute badasses 😭😭
I love these videos 🙏
Thank you
Amen
Me too.
XFY-1 is great. Thanks for posting all these vids on aircraft, nice done as well. These are like hopping in a time machine
When I was a DJ, I used to dream of turning up to gig's, flying there in a XB-42 "Mixmaster" Sadly it was gone with the wind..
When i was younger i told myself id own a hyper car. The best Dec i ever made was to sell it cause it wasent practical. I then purchased me a small heli. And it’s my daily flyer
When I was a kid I used to draw airliners. I “designed” one with delta wings. I even had one with 5 engines, the fifth was on the tail like a DC-10.
My delta winged plane were not supersonic they just had really long legs. Those delta wings gave them a lot of fuel.
Only have seen photos of the X-13. This was more amazing than I ever could have imagined. Thank you so much for all this research....
Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh wow. I been listening to this for years and I especially adore the bit about the royals. I love this in general it has such a warm fuzzy feel
5:46 Box Springs Mountains to left. Riverside Raceway would come along later West on Alessandro a bit, then North on Day Street.
Very Good "Big Video" 😮😮😮
Amazing work
The AreoVan was a cool idea.
The Doak-16 was a great plane!
I can't wait until I go home for Christmas, and wait for my chance to casually drop, "Yeah, that's cool, but have you guys ever heard of the Fleep?" Feel free to judge my families less than conventional holiday conversation conventions.
What is the thumbnail aircraft?
That is a Miles Libellula M.39B in flight in post-war livery as U4 Experimental Aircraft, 1948.

Mantap
some good designs
Probably very interesting but at almost 4 hours long I shall not be watching it all at once lol
Good.Thanks.
The X13 was really something!
And, IF someone added the Proper FBY Flight-Controls, an AI or 3 'in the loop', and perhaps a 'back-up-Camera [? which was already IN a Buick Showcar!?], plus the 'paddle-thrust' control from the X-31, THIS Could Still Be a Tactical Fighter.
Amazing stuff 🇦🇺
But how on earth does it take "a few decades" to get the units to Australia???
This sounds like complete government BS. Give me 18-months, I will have it done (production time not included)
It had Faith of the Heart.
Reply! my to favs!
1:00:30 for Vought Flying Pancake
I feel if someone tried to build the alien style flying saucer in todays time with current 2024 tech it would be quit simple and could fly. On thought I’ll brb while i run to my massive 3d printer and some math i bet i can make one
And then catapult and landing wires were used.
They always ended up making these things so complicated that they might as well (and in some cases did) add engines to it...
Charles was just the first to solo
The seadart kinda looks like an F35 from some angles
Steve is an interesting name but it's OK too...
:-)
Ahaha, USS Macron,
good one.
steve austin
the F22 Raptor is not a VTOL aircraft
“united states army air force”
Yes?
nobody gave these designs a chance
Weird script in places.
