How to Grow SNOWDROPS

- Snowdrops are one of the earliest and easiest spring flowering bulbs to grow in your garden. Growing snowdrops is easy, they love shady woodland or full sun as long as there is moisture in the soil during the growing season. Snowdrop flowers can emerge as early as mid December, but peak in England around February. March is an ideal time to divide established clumps and propagate your stock.
In this video we show you how to propagate snowdrop bulbs and replant in the green for established small clumps the following spring.

How well do snowdrops help break up clay soil? How quickly do they multiply from a single bulb?
I'm not sure how quickly they break up clay but we have grown them in every garden we have had some of which were on clay and they have always grown well for us. They even grow well in our riverside garden which is quite a wet garden in winter and aslo in our coastal garden which has a sandy soil. They multiply very quickly from bulbs and they seed. Always plant them in the green. best way to get some is from another gardener who digs you up a clump. Thats how we got most of our snowdrops, and then every year we split the big clumps to get more.
