- This journey has been uploaded on You Tube for some time in a series of short videos. This has apparently caused some confusion so I am uploading the complete trip for those who can devote one hour to watching it.
This video is a treasure and should be preserved for future generations.
This is one of the best documentaries we have ever seen. It's worth watching. The scenery is breathtaking, the filming so well done, and best of all: no hype, no shouting, no made up drama, no loud music in the background, and no American build up of tension, just tranquil reporting of facts and letting the pictures speak their own story. How wonderful that there are people like you who know what others want to see. We loved it so much when we had to leave for an appointment we looked it up again the next day to watch the rest. It was wonderful. Thank yo so very much.

I've been watching your videos for quite some time, truly amazing. You mentioned something about a hobby, I'd say you're on par with Nat Geo for the quality of both visual and narrative content of all of your travels you've documented that I've had the pleasure to watch. Being an avid reader of National Geographic magazine since 1955 I've taken many trips across this Island Earth we inhabit, mostly in my mind, but your artistry has taken my voyages to much higher levels. I'm 82 years old and I feel just like KW, would love to go on a trip like this before I cash in my chips. I have watched this and others he has made about four times each. I have lots of respect for Tony for making all these video's for our pleasure. makes me feel apart of the adventure.

Tony, what I actuallu appreciate is the poetic way of narrating it. It shows you like people as well as places, always detaching a lovely sight with lovely words. I wonder that even if you had to descrip an ugly scene, you would tell it in a lovely way. As to the trip itself, outstanding and marvelous! Alasca is astounding! Thank you!!!!!

Brilliant! Reminds me of my adventure of coming to Los Angeles from Fort Lauderdale on a 70' Trawleryacht through the Panama Canal, I was the engineer and had never been on a boat before. Cheers Tony.

What a wonderful journey, great post Tony. Since I retired in 2015 I have spent my summers on the west coast highlands and islands of Scotland, with my car, two tents, 6 rods and a kayak traveling at a similar pace, totally absorbed in the beauty that is nature. We have only one life and clearly you are making the most of yours. If you need somebody to carry your bags....I'm free!

I did not realize that a relatively small craft called a luxury yacht could do such serious world travel across oceans. What a fantastic adventure! And this is such a well done high quality video presentation. Thank you very much for this wonder filled trip.
I was absolutely delighted to watch this full trip. In 1961-62, my senior year in high school, I went with my family on our ship, the Sea Venture, up this same trip. At that time Wrangle Narrows had not been cleared of the rock that made it such a hazard to navigation. We had outfitted the Sea Venture to be a crab boat. We had leased Dolgoi Island to be our home and start a sheep raising endeavour. When your video showed the harbor of Dolgoi, it brought back a flood of memories. We had taken 9 sheep, and my mare with us because we fully intended to stay there. We stopped along the trip up the inside passage, and the mare became quite a celebrity with many visiting children who had never seen such an animal. She liked the attention. Had our adventure succeeded, you might have visited remains of our place on this island. Thanks again for these trips. This one was really personal for me. May 21, 2020 will be my 77th year,

Joyful to see the Qualifier 105 in her new life (Research). She ran Sportfishing trips from Point Loma Harbor in San Diego... all the way down to Clipperton Atoll originally. She operated in this mode from the early 1970s until 2012. I fished on her to numerous destinations along the Baja coast and beyond for many of those years. Great memories where just brought back seeing her underway here. Thank you so much!

I find it incredible, when the little Dutch or Swedish Santana sailing yacht traversed the Straights of Magallin at the south tip of South America. That is a very dangerous place to tiny boats. This was a wonderful video of your fantastic adventure.

An extraordinary well done video! As a former Alaskan, this little known 'world' needed this kind of in depth overview of the little known, seldom seen geographical features of the Aleutians. The favorable weather was an enhancement to this success. Well known communities are known, but the many coves and abandoned places have been overlooked. The grandeur, and tenacious endurance of the existing population testifies to the 'hold' this Aleutian chain has on those who live there. National Geographic quality and presentation! Thank You.

Great camera work, innovative use of still photographs, and narration. I was raised in Oregon but every summer from the time I was one to thirteen years of age - 1981-1993 - my family and I lived in Moser Bay as set-netters. My Dad started fishing in Alaska on seining boats around the mid-1960's and knew many of the real "old-timers," both White and Aleut, on the island and in villages like Akhiok and Old Harbor. I have heard stories of Kodiak City in the sixties and seventies - ribald, roaring, and "colorful" where the bars had the same glasses so inebriated patrons could carry glasses from one establishment to another without much issue - to old Norwegian cannery masters and boat skippers, to the old Aleut men of the villages in those times with old Russian saints' names like Gleb and Tikhon, unfailingly kind, mentoring, and hospitable to my then-young Dad but some who, in those days spoke, only halting English though fluent in Aleut and Russian......the latter language a sign of Alaska's Russian colonial past. In 1971 Dad began fishing a set-net site on the western shore of Moser Bay between Trap Point and the old, defunct, Moser Bay cannery and was soon joined by my Mom who he married the next year. I came along in 1980 as their first and only child. My own memories of Kodiak are varied - there were major disappointments, storms, bad fishing years, constant mechanical issues, sometimes injuries (although once we were there a week from our Winter home in Oregon and were not ill we never feared disease pathogens as it is an unusually anti-septic environment that way) - along with amazing days of intense beauty, contact with nature, and always a sense of man's insignificance in seemingly boundless space, coupled with amazing parties during closures that only those who have lived in other frontier-like societies in the First or Third World will be able to truly appreciate when resources and outside stimulation are comparatively few and you have to make your own fun while, where, and when you can. Coupled with such contact with other fishing and native families have come friendships that have lasted a lifetime. When I saw you head into The Narrows, a place that my parents and I transited many-a-time going to other sets, visiting other fishing families, or hunting for Sitka Blacktail deer, I was overcome with a strange feeling of nostalgia......it brought back sensory and muscle memory of the salt smell, rotting fish of last-minute spawners close to the new Fall, and the whiff of the occasional wet alder tree, as my knees compensate on the aluminum deck of a picker or gill-net skiff for the gradual swells and eddies. You would have seen our house (since painted blue I gather from other family and friends who still fish up there both in Moser and Olga Bays and at Fox Island north and east of Alitak cannery) as you crossed Moser Bay and I hope my general remembrances bring added color to your trip. I am a history teacher and Vlogger currently doing a book on the Aleutian campaign of WWII form the Japanese perspective - History and Japanese studies major in Uni PLUS a childhood in the eastern Aleutians (Kodiak IS, technically, the eastern-most Aleutian island) means that the topic is somewhat personal for me I suppose. That being said, I hope you have the intestinal fortitude to go further out eastward on the chain to visit Attu, Kiska, and Amchitka - all part of the Aleutian campaign's battlefield over seven decades ago. I should add a few incidentals at the very least - Woody's museum at Alitak was built with the assistance of a local fisherman (he lives in Washington state in the Winters) named Rick Metzger who was also a close friend of my father and himself a well-read historian of the island. The "Hollywood" sign was a rather poor repair when I last laid my own eyes upon it in 1993 - I'm glad it seems to be in nicer shape now. Lastly, while the Oil Spill in 1989 did indeed devastate many fisheries elsewhere on the "outside" of Kodiak Island - and I would never, ever, make light of this - it happened that many other set-netters, gill-netters, and seiners elsewhere on the island were closed by fisheries authorities like the Alaska Department of Fisheries and the Alaska Department of Fish & Game for that summer though we, on the island's "inside," were able to fish with the result that many in the area did well financially even if we certainly worked for it that year particularly - I've vivid memories of falling asleep at nine years old on piles of fish in our picking skiffs. I appreciate your video and hope to see more. I very much plan on watching your Faroese trip as I am also fascinated with Viking history as well and am a fan of Tyr - a Faroese Metal band. I can not add more than the comments below. Incredible. Spent 4 years Army infantry in Fairbanks in the early 80's. Most of my Alaska experience was in the north and western part of the state. Got to go to Kodiak on a fishing trip. Wanted to go to the Rat islands where my father was stationed in WWII, but couldn't make it. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

Very nice video. I made many trips up and down the Alaska Peninsula from Homer to Dutch and the Pribilof's when I fished crab out west and tendered salmon and herring from Cordova to Naknek, the scenery never ceased to amaze. Some of my favorites were on the peninsula south of Cape Douglas; Kukak Bay, Katmai Bay and Hallo Bay are beautiful - pretty good dungeness crab fishing too! Also made dozens of straight shots from Seattle across to Kodiak and Dutch. You never know which side the Gulf will show you; a gentle swell or a royal thumping. The only nit to pick would be the city/island of Unalaska, the un is pronounced as in 'under'.

Absolutely astounding VLOG, memorizing music, exquisite photography, superb narration, and the Fleming yacht, is the thing of dreams!! One day, I hope to own a trawler like her. As a young US Navy sailor aboard the USS Meyerkord in the mid-1980s, we sailed the Aleutians stopping at Adak, it was quite an adventure on a ship, can’t imagine how wonderful your trip must have been on a trawler! We just took our Grand Children on a trip to the Kenai Peninsular this summer and had a wonderful guided trip of the Seward waters and the National Park there. This tour by the Flemings is incredible photography and the narration is brilliant! A must watch!

What a spectacular bit of visual story telling. I just found this while in lockdown in Munich, Germany and, since Alaska is a part of the world I have never given much thought to, actually being an Aussie brought up in the tropics, I have to say I think it is truly wonderful. Next time you are going on a trip like this "pick me, pick me". I remember David Attenborough saying he thought he "droned on" in his documentaries and it makes me now take notice of voices. Of course, nobody thinks that about him. He has an unforgettable way of expressing himself. Our narrator here seems to have the same effect on me. His voice is almost soothing. Congratulations on a really delightful doco.

15:55 "We pass under Unimak Island, we are now in the Aleutians". YES YOU ARE! I was skeptical this entire time until they finally referred to "being in the Aleutians" when they got mid-way, between the Aleutians West Borough and Aleutians East Borough. :)
I'm a sailor and am enthralled to watch a boat go directly into the wind! ;) I am thoroughly enjoying your amazing videos! They are SO well filmed and edited and narrated and scored! I am just mesmerized watching them. I had discovered Kodiak's NASA Launch Facility on line by accident a few months ago and enjoyed seeing it in your coverage. I grew up in Brevard Co, FL, with my Dad in the Space Program at the Cape. I never knew this one existed until recently.
