I'm also from NJ and I know exactly how you feel, everyone younger dresses so carefree or no effort, I think people should be dressed well no matter the occasion, casual or dressed up (I'm gen z too lol) it's good to stand out
What I have to say is, you being new to UA-cam, is that you’re off to a solid start from a content creation standpoint. Just keep releasing content consistently my friend. You have a very approachable presentation. Also, a tidbit of an idea that could open the door to a plethora of content options, is to do a history-related series of boots, and hats, and western ware you either own or that people love. Either way, keep it up. You’re on your way
It's cool seeing everyone's opinions on what they prefer. Some prefer broad square toes, some like French toes, some love J toes, some enjoy R toes. I enjoy wearing snip toe boots myself. The amount of toe choises is one of the many reasons why cowboy boots and western wear in general is so awesome. We all have our own styles, and western wear probably has the largest amount of style combinations. It's nearly impossible to be coincidentally matching someone else's look. Choose your style and don't worry about what other people think. The best part is that anyone can wear western apparel and look great!
I'm a sneaker head and slowly have been getting into the cowboy style. Actually I'm starting to love it. Has a sneaker head we take time to get our fit together. You should do a vid on how and what you do to put one together..
I’ve been wearing round toed boots since the early 1980s, but before that in junior high school I wore the boots from that 70s show. It was the thing back then.
I am 15 years old and I love the pointy toe boots I also own a pair myself and I love my cody james pants style with them and their awesome and I love your content keep up the good work your awesome
Square toe is primary function and focus is work vs the classic pointed toe options that are good and effective on the ranch and for work. I personally like both but when you got extreme tough jobs I’d say a steel or composite toe combined with a square toe is best especially with long term comfort for 12hrs of work. Good example my square composit toe Ariats or my soft square toe timberland pros. My Tim’s lasted me so far like 3 years and still in a good condition with no conditioning. Just ran ragged like back in the old days.
I literally said the same thing.... just little bit different. My work dictates what style of boots I'll be wearing....I'm a truck driver and my company requires us to wear steel toe boots, since we do spend time on a loading dock getting our trailers and load ready...So square, steel toe is what I wear...nothing fancy....I have a pair or Ariats....some cheap Wolverines and a pair of Twisted X boots, which are my favorite....they're extremely durable and stylish....so if you wanna be comfortable, safe, look stylish and have a boot that will last, Twisted X is way to go
Square toes work as he says with stirrups better when they have a single welt. Double welts looks amazing for sure, but make an even larger base to the boot(more susceptible to hang up). Sadly, it’s not too easy find the square toes in single welt. Mine I have are all custom made. That’s clearly more costly- just food for thought gents
I usually rock some wide square toe ostrich boots, round toe elephants or pointed toe Frogskins. I got a few Teju lizard pairs and rattlesnake pairs but u don't wear them often
The only toes I don't like are snip and A. As for comfort, I have round and j toe boots that are just as comfortable as my square toe boots. My most comfortable (favorite) is a pair of justin ropers the 3163s.
Cool still wearing a diaper young man. What boot you getting? Let me guess Ariat huh? Go with the brand with the faces on the toe. Like a fighter jet pilot from the 30's
I agree I like them both to I like wearing cowboy boots I think they look good on a guy and they're comfortable on your feet and they last longer then shoes I wear cowboy boots to Cowboy Up
The thing for me is about ergonomics. If you have wide feet , square toe boots are just better . The last is just going to be better fitting . I don’t mind non square toed boots , but they just don’t fit my feet as well , and higher end boots to to fit a way to where you need to order a smaller size than ordinary anyway. I think the width and shape of your foot should help you determine what is going to be more comfortable. As a side note, I think every man should have at least one good pair of cowboy style boots I like to keep at least one good pair of square toe boots like Justin’s , and I also have a pair of iron rangers . I’m from Missouri and not particularly country , but the active wear thing isn’t exactly my bag. I’m more into straight cut jeans and nicer leather shoes . If I wear sneakers it’s more with shorts . There’s just something about a high quality pair of leather shoes though
Thank You Man for all the info about the boots. Would I wear spurs with Pointed Toe or Square Toe boots? What is your favorite brand of western shirt to ware, Wrangler, Roper, Cinch, or Ariat? Or a totally different brand?
The thing about Square toed boots for me is the added sole around the edge with two rows of stiching. It’s wide enough as it is why make the boot that much wider? I love my Lucchese boots! not so wide square toe with a slim edge, one row of stitching. Less is more!
Ive only ever worn 2 types of boots, i wear square toes for dancing, and special occasions, and i wear a u toe of riding and work, the only time u ever got hung up, i was wearing a u toe boot with rubber tread on the bottom and when i was getting off the horse, the tread got stuck and i fell back and the horse started walking away dragging me behind. It was my grandfathers horse and my grandpa sat there laughing at me. I never wore boots with tread again.
I really like the round toe; it seems like it has become a rare bird now though. I just recently bought my first pair of boots in almost a decade. I picked up the Ariat Heritage R toe.
I prefer the round toe also. Since about 6th grade I’ve been wearing Olathe and Tony lama boots. I love the buckaroo tall tops and the Olathe tall heel roughstock models. And they’re always round toe.
@@ericdiedrichson619 Listen, buddy, I got the best boots I could afford, I plan on getting some Tony Lama's or Boulet's sometime in the future. I am a welding student so I can't afford to drop 600 bucks on boots that will be burnt up in 6 months.
@@ericdiedrichson619 Honestly that just dumb thing to say, plenty of farmers and ranchers wear ariat. It doesn't freakin matter what brand what ever works for you works for you starting to sound like a city boy caring to much about brands
Normally like pointed toe and pointed mouth the old traditional boot the one you demonstrate all is nice good 👍 there's a another one that looks like very simple you can where it normal trousers I hope you get me.Thanks
Square toe is nice but pointed is a classic cowboy boot because when you’re trying to get into the saddle you have to be quick and fast and if you have square to you might get caught
Oddly enough, square toes are “classic cowboy boots” themselves. they date past the 1800s and were popular for the same reason they are still, ease of getting in and out of a saddle.
My question is i need a dirty work boot, im considering trying a cowboy boot any recommendations? What do you use, im thinking of trying a Tecova "the Jake or the Stockton" or the "ariot workhog"
Really good video, I enjoy your videos but this one was very informative. I have several boots and just ordered a pair of Rios Mercedes Big Chief Mustang boots that I hope to have in about a month. I'd like to share my opinion of the boots with you if you are interested?
Back in the late 1970s, I bought my first par of cowboy boots, a Dingo brown leather square toe. These were not a very high quality/priced boot, synthetic lining and synthetic sole, but they were what I could afford as a college student. I still have them, and they show little wear, since I seldom wear them. I discovered then that square toe cowboy boots were uncool at the university I was attending, which is and was famed both for engineering (me) and agriculture (boot critics.) As I approach retirement, now safely ensconced in a hard-to-be-fired-from government job instead of fighting for my existence24/7 in private industry, which I did very well in until I didn't in 2006, I have decided to wear what I want, where I want, when I want, and don't give a rat's petoot who says what, even if it embarrasses my staff and my adult kids. (Geezerhood can be GLORIOUS!) I just wish you were old enough to be my big brother instead of young enough to be my grandson. You are wise beyond your years. Love your videos!
I'm thinking of ordering the Boulet 8063 from their website. Someone told me it was a french toe but it doesn't say. Do you think you can help me see what kinda toe it is? They only have one pic of the boot and this will be my first pair of cowboy boots. I just can't tell what kind of toe it has.
The only thing i will say is that I have both round toe and square toe and I have a hard time with jeans and my round toes. I have tried multiple boot cut jeans. Do you have an recommendations
I got into the YSL Harness boot I was thinking it was more of a rock & roll boot, but really it's a cow boy boot. I like the pointy boot more you can dress them up more and dress them down. The square toe to me looks better with a boot cut boot jean. I like the narrow square toe boot.
I got some square toes but I don't wear them except for work cause they have rubber soles for doing electrical. I hate square toes I'm a round toe guy. Especially if you ride horses the round gets in the stirrups better.
I love my square toe boots. I think that they are comfortable for my foot situation that I have with my feet so when I have boots on which I rarely don't have them on, I am rocking the western ariat cowboy patriot boots. They were really easy to break in.
My shit kickers are squared, and I guess my more "classical" boots are for dressing up. Personally I'm just a guy from Washington so sometimes just to fuck with the southerners I see every day I wear a pair of Nick's
I'm sorry....did you say some weirdos out there are taping their boots?! Hell, I learned something new. I want to meet these people not just to see them do this but to observe their everyday life habits and choices for National Geographic.
