I wouldn't let her see Mayday just yet..... Maybe Misty Mountains first just to show how deep he can go. Over on Chris Rupp's channel there is a "Reaction" video to this song where he gives a lot of background information about filming the video, it is worth watching.
I believe the hat was exactly that, a 'salute' from Avi to Tim and imo the combination of the hat by Avi and the simultaneous earthquake from Tim is a perfect finish for an amazing performance by the whole crew.
Haha, I just loved Emilys reaction when Avi started singing, he's the best! And the fact that you asked if she needed a break😂 Keep doing this, I love seeing you react together 💞
Also, home free singing Do You Hear What I Hear has an inhuman Base note, features Austin a bit more, and is a good Christmas song reaction. Meet In The Middle is another one that showcases Austin more.
I don't remember what note Tim hits in that, but I know he hits a ridiculous A0 - repeatedly - in Sold!, and he hits a G#0 in his collab with Peter Hollins on Misty Mountains. Those would also be great to see before watching Mayday.
DOA, here’s a link to a reaction that does both back to back. He does this one first, then at seven minutes into his video he stops the live one and says, “Wait, is this in a lower key?” Then he replays the beginning of this one, notes the key, and restarts the live one, and you can tell it’s a half step lower. ua-cam.com/video/yw_L6avVd2c/v-deo.html
Funnily enough...both Tim and Avi are actually pretty humble. They are really the nicest in person; I've shaken both their hands after concerts. I swear...a woman gets pregnant at every concert where Tim hits that last note or Avi creates that echo chamber. *Winks. Yes, we Home Fries love it when new tater tots start reviewing Home Free! Keep it up!
Her reaction to Tim's G1 is hilarious! Same thing with Avi's C#2! A riot! Her reaction to Tim Storms singing that E1 or E0 in the Paul Mealor arrangement, De Profundis, with that Russian choir would be another great reaction. Great video as always!
That little edit when she said "I really like the original version" was 10/10, as someone who loves this version of the song it was fun to see this one. It's always fun showing someone you care about something amazing haha, great reaction.
Agree that you should introduce her to Mayday, but also suggest Misty Mountains first so she has gotten a taste of his bass-ness so the tenor notes are that much more impressive
Hahaha such a cute reaction. Yeah Tim is ridiculous. Loved the song. I would agree with a lot of the Home Fries to show her Misty Mountains before Mayday.
Enjoyed girlfriends input! You both make a good team reacting. Consider her as an asset not a liability. Both please do woman amen/female from home free. It is a mashup.. Awesome
Brad I love love love !!!!!! You and Emily doing reactions together. Please keep it going with the acapella reactions and all your favorite ones you’ve already done redo them with her as well!!!!
Yes, you fell off the chair. But I think Tim goes even lower in later videos, Flowers on the wall or Down to the honky-tonk. Or the last note in God bless the USA
Love her! Hope to see more of you reacting with Brad Emily. Yes, watch hillbilly bone, misty mountains, and down to the honkytonk before mayday. It will greatly increase the “shook” factor.
Brad ... I hope you still check comments a few hours after you've done them. Austin Brown released another song today.....about four hours ago. It's called Danny's Song.....it's a cover and a really good one. It's just him and his friend Steven Martenize playing guitar. Hope you get a chance to check it out. Loved seeing your girlfriends reaction. You guys make a cute couple. God bless and stay safe
Another great reaction! I hope the 2 of you do more reactions together! Guess what Austin just today released another solo song with Steven on guitar...its Danny's Song! I just watched it....its awesome as always!
I love Emily's reaction, she's so expressive 😀 To listen to Ring of Fire properly, one really need to have a powerful, and I _do_ mean POWERFUL, subwoofer. Something less and it'll just blow up 😆
For some reason, seeing those reactions never gets old. :) Brad, I highly recommend you check out their original arrangement of Auld Lang Syne. Nothing fancy, nothing earth-shattering...but some of the most amazing harmonies you will ever hear. I think you will really appreciate the simple beauty of the performance.
You should a watch a bass compilation, by either Tomi P or Clap it up Dan, because they have Geoff, Avi, and Tim, but also some old Russian choir singers that can hit notes in the 0 octave, and hit it with such volume and over top everyone without mics. If you like gospel and old choir, it’s definitely a good idea, or just the basic bass compilation
I love Johnny Cash but there arrangement is by far my favorite of this song and Avi just has a great voice, along with Home Free. You should have her listen to their version of All that Bass and I love when they sang with the Oak Ridge Boys.
SOLD! before Mayday. You can barely hear that low note. You feel it more... LOL Thank you both for sharing, new intros to Home Free are always fun! ^_^
Emily, you Are thinking Adam Chance. Chance is a Concert Baritone like myself, not quite at Tim's 5 octave range, but he does also have a decent range.
Most singers are proud of a three octave range. Chance's range is four octaves, which is extraordinary. Foust's range only seems to make Chance's range sound "decent."
Oh, yes! Have her react to “Mayday”! That may win her over! FYI on the origin of the “Home Fries” is that Ben Folds called the guys that around 3rd or 4th week. I don’t know how it carried over to the fans, though! So happy to be a “Bradical Home Fry” here! I like Emily reacting with you! Her reaction was pretty much “the norm” for seeing Home Free” for the first time! I understand her devotion to Avi, though! He’s got an amazing voice!
From something I read in the comment section of the original video, I'm almost certain that both Tim AND Avi hit that last note! And when I listen to it, I kind of think I can hear the voices shift, from Tim to Avi, though it's the same note continuously. Also, hi Emily! You and Brad should do some more reactions together! :)
React to Tim Foust vocal range video (spoiler - 5 octaves) 😁😁😁😁 it's just blow your mind (he can do all of this low and high stuff in live concert). This man just amazing and so talented singer 😁
Would love for you to do more of their Christmas music White Christmas, I'll be Home For Christmas, and Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer, for something really different check out their version of Joy to the World from their Hosanna Concert 2013
Add Sold! to the mix for a whole lot of A0 - not as low as Misty Mountains, but the difference at that point is hardly significant. It's just low. Kinda like Alaskan weather - anything below -40 is irrelevant - it's just cold.
Hey, it’s nice to meet Emily. She’s nice. 😍 So you gonna start the video soon? Ok, seriously, you guys have a really nice dynamic going. Enjoyed the reaction very much. Then I watched I Wanna Dance with Somebody and,, wow, what a great duet you make! Emily has a really nice voice! (And you too, of course). I LOVE Home Free, but since I mostly live in the Angelina Jordan-verse, I hope to see you there eventually too. 😃
You should have her react to their cover of 'Die A Happy Man'. Its one of my all time favorite songs by them and its also a proposal video. They recreate the way Tim proposed to his now wife for the video.
you are the first reviewers to pick up on that hat change. As you expressed it was a gesture of respect and Avi's respect for Home Frees country style. Keep in mind this song was written by the late great June Carter, once she realized how much she loved Johnny Cash (another super bass voice).
So, when Avi slips off his trademark beanie and puts on a cowboy hat, he's saluting Tim Foust's final low note. I love & admire Avi with all my heart, but there's no denying that Tim sings a little bit lower.
Yes obviously he sings lower and I love both of them and Geoff too but for tone I go with avi,his tone is very smooth but don’t get me wrong I love the 3 of them
Home Fry fan here. If you REALLY want to blow her mind with Tim, you two need to react to a live version of their cover of "Your Man"... This link is my personal favorite, although it's recorded through a phone from the audience... I will warn you to be ready from about the 1:45 mark to about the 2:20 mark... and be sure you hang out for the end. I experienced it live in 2018 and it STILL amazes me.
Yup. Tim has a really awesome bass voice. Seriously jealous - my best was A natural below low C when I was in school (30+ years ago). Wishing I had continued choir / group stuff ...
you guys are great together. Next Home Free: "Colder Weather" official video.. Have you done their cover of "How Great Thou Art"? Some of the best harmonies and visuals there is. Also, Voctave's Andrews Sisters medley you guys will love.
I already knew I liked this girl....but when she said she would have to pray about it before the ending. That right there showed she was a great Godly woman for you.
The last low note was tim Faust he can hit 5 octaves that's why sometimes he sings high notes and sometimes he hit low notes but he's known for his ultra low notes watch the bass wars
I like Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. But I LOVE Ring of Fire by Home Free. I love Tim's voice but Avi Kaplan has one of best bass voice's I've ever heard. :)
G1, baby! But that's not even his final form... Tim's range of vocalization is like 5 octaves, about A0 to A5... I can't hit either of those extents XD Such a crazy voice!
UA-cam algorithm sent me in over. Looking forward to reactions but also heard some of your voice and am looking forward to hearing some covers as well.
Yes, please have her listen to Mayday but first have her listen to the Man of Constant Sorrow to solidify her understanding of Tim’s bass register. That should be fun!
I wouldn't let her see Mayday just yet..... Maybe Misty Mountains first just to show how deep he can go.
Over on Chris Rupp's channel there is a "Reaction" video to this song where he gives a lot of background information about filming the video, it is worth watching.
Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens works too.
I believe the hat was exactly that, a 'salute' from Avi to Tim and imo the combination of the hat by Avi and the simultaneous earthquake from Tim is a perfect finish for an amazing performance by the whole crew.
Show her the oogie boogie song by Voiceplay
Penguin Agree!
Yeahhh

he already did, but if you mean with his gf then yes
YES I’M PLS
You should show her oogie boogie man by voiceplay
Haha, I just loved Emilys reaction when Avi started singing, he's the best! And the fact that you asked if she needed a break😂 Keep doing this, I love seeing you react together 💞
Also, home free singing Do You Hear What I Hear has an inhuman Base note, features Austin a bit more, and is a good Christmas song reaction. Meet In The Middle is another one that showcases Austin more.
Maybe do "Do You Hear What I Hear" before Mayday so she can really hear Tim's super low notes before the Mayday surprise.
Yes! Good suggestion!!!
Ally, I think that the cover of John M. Montgomery - Sold would be the best, because Tim hits his lowest note in that, A0
I don't remember what note Tim hits in that, but I know he hits a ridiculous A0 - repeatedly - in Sold!, and he hits a G#0 in his collab with Peter Hollins on Misty Mountains. Those would also be great to see before watching Mayday.
@@raulnishizaka7909 It *was* his lowest note, until he sang Misty Mountains. He's down to G#0 on that one - half step lower than in Sold!
@@KillerTruffle You're right, I had forgotten that note
This was a fun reaction! I took it that Avi earned a spot on the Home Free group by putting his hat on! He earned it against Tim! 🤣
Show her the live version of this song that Home Free did on “The Sing-Off.” It’s a half step lower than this one!
yes! This is an amazing version but the Sing Off version is my favorite.
lower than this one yea right im sure they went below the G1 he hit at end NOT lol

@@foggyhedgie The Sing-off version ended on a G!. This ended on an F#1, which is a half-step lower. That isn't open for debate.
Your girl is utterly adorable.
you must see " it's a great day to be alive" brad, austin so much badass in that mv
Have her listen to Do You Hear What I Hear. When Tim goes both high and low.

HUGE Home Fry here!!!! Pentaholic as well!! Voiceplay.... Avi, Tim, Chance and even Geoff are not usually cocky... Tim has a 6 octave range!!
Oh, her reaction when Avi jumped down into the bass, girl, SAME!!!
That little edit when she said "I really like the original version" was 10/10, as someone who loves this version of the song it was fun to see this one. It's always fun showing someone you care about something amazing haha, great reaction.

Hahaha such a cute reaction. Yeah Tim is ridiculous. Loved the song. I would agree with a lot of the Home Fries to show her Misty Mountains before Mayday.
Show her anything with Adam Chance. The group was great before, but improved 10x when he joined.
Listen to their version of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" The end of the third verse...DEEP!
Enjoyed girlfriends input! You both make a good team reacting. Consider her as an asset not a liability. Both please do woman amen/female from home free. It is a mashup.. Awesome
Brad: Still, Tim hit even a lower note in their version that they did live in Sing-off.
No, you want to hear Tim sing deep, you both need to react to Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens.
I love it that Avi takes his hat off to Tim for hitting that super low note.
Really have enjoyed your reactions. Not sure if you have heard it on not, but I'd recommend John Denver's Take Me Home, Country Roads
Hit the note...AND sustained it for forever. The beatboxer though!!

There are so many instances of Tim showcasing his range. My golden song of HF is their cover of Your Man. Tim goes real high AND low in that one

Listen to their performance on the Sing Off.
they are all great talents...love their version of Man of Constant Sorrow....even the beat boxing country style is awesome
She her Oogie-Boogie song by VoicePlay....Geoff Castalucci goes off the bass scale on the last note!!!
the Chest growl...Tim Faust is a master of it. I learned how to growl myself 30 years ago.
Don't forget to show her Misty Mountains! Brad and Emily Fry
It is very hard to tell who hits the last low note between Tim or Avi but if you can tell the difference between their voices you can tell who it is
Him putting the hat on at the end is Avi being won over by country music because he is a pop singer
And he still had it on for the Champagne Taste video!
There is a video on UA-cam, a bass competition, sort of. With Tim, Avi, and someone else that actually shows the notes they hit.
Tim Foust has a 5-octave range allowing him to sing almost as high as Austin and lower than anybody can think. These blokes are amazingly talented.
I read that he can sing 10 octaves and he has two world records for lowest note sung by a human and one for the widest vocal range
have her listen to Misty Mountain!! LOL.. Then Mayday. ;-)

I'm saying that Avi put the hat on, with that big ol' grin on his face, because Tim turned him country with that last note. LMAO
Changing from the knitted cap to the cowboy hat signifies him switching from whatever he was and fully embracing country.
