Mitch has bars! Scott and Kirstie too. There is seriously nothing they can't do; this is a brilliant performance. (Wise move to keep Slappy close at hand.)
Mitch was saying the other day on his Patreon podcast that he didn't think rapping was a particular strength of his. I'm STILL not sure if he was joking, or if he is that self-unaware of his skill!
@@melissacoviello2886 The Patreon is good. He does a podcast each week, which is generally 45 mins to an hour long and he answers questions as part of that. Then livestreams quite often as well, where he often sings bits of song requests and answers questions. Plus monthly playlists of what he's listening to, some behind the scenes photos, occasional videos of cover songs, and early access to his original music. The podcasts are him talking about his daily life, food, popular culture, fashion, music, etc and are done with his best friend/creative director Austin.
So much fun. Watching the whole Popspring concert is amazing. Three originals and the evolution of Michael Jackson. Mitch really shows off his rapping skills in it in Can’t Sleep Love. I am loving your reactions. I enjoy your sense of humor. ❤️❤️
Love love love this one! Really like that you picked up on the outfits representing who was up front. They literally can do any genre. Not that I've ever mentioned it before (much haha) but Love Again.. be prepared and have Slappy on hand but not just for Mitch!
Oh yeah….. Mitch can rap 🤣🤣🤣 ETA: PTX is actually part of an anxiety coping skill I identified with my therapist. I pick a song and pick a singer. Then listen through trying to track that same voice all the way through. It helps. My dentist allows headphones. They even provide them if you ask.
I think you would love two things that are longer but both great. First is “Popspring” which is part of PTX in concert taped live by Tokyo MTV. They sing 3 originals and one medley. Mitch and Kirstie are dressed as Anime characters and the whole thing is fire. Bring your helmet Second is let’s do the 12 songs from the Song Off. They are very available to Show and not get blocked Include judges comments. At least 5 of the performances are helmet and crayon worthy. Mitch missed his high school graduation to be on the show. So it’s a trip down Babytonics and how they came together. Super fun
I know I’ve said it before, but it’s just time for you to do their Sing-Off journey. Definitely do the videos from the Mr. Duckbear account. He has all the PTX performances (including the pre-performance info segments, the judges comments, and any snippets of the band reacting to the judges afterwards).
You need to watch the behind-the-scenes video that FifGen, the videographers here, put together. By the way, the entire video was shot in one location - Mount St. Mary's University in the mountains near Los Angeles. That was where, the following year, 2014, Avi, Ben Bram and Rob Dietz founded the A Cappella Academy (a 10-day Summer inttensive music camp for kids 12-18 from around the world. Here's the behind-the-scenes link: ua-cam.com/video/t0P5IlVG3BQ/v-deo.html
You got it. A theme for each of them. Kevin in church; Avi in nature, and so forth. You love them and know them well enough to recognize that. No denying that you are a Pentaholic. 🙂 If you watch the behind the scenes video for this you'll get a better look at their outfits and filming process.
I had a ton of dental work done in 2018 and 2019 (including extractions of all of my bottom teeth) and I brought my headphones and kept them on the whole time. I wouldn't have made it without them. If your dentist doesn't allow it find another dentist. It's ridiculously scary but so worth it not to be in pain constantly.
I had a number of cavities filled last year and I am super sensitive and have a bit of anxiety. So they sedated me and filled all my cavities at one time. They instructed me to wear comfy clothes, a blanket/pillow, earbuds and something to listen to. It was not a fun experience but it was soooo much better than it could have been. I also wouldn’t have made it without my ptx playlist.
Yes!!! I’ve been waiting for you to react to this one. I love this song. It’s one of my absolute favorites. This one and their original “Sing” are in my playlist and always put me in a good mood. I can dance around the room like a dork. 😅😄
This is one of my favorites. On the journey of older songs, Kirstin takes the lead in Rather Be and also a favorite is La La Latch. Thanks Saucey Dad :D
Avi’s bit looks like his current solo videos do : ‘ stand outside on a mountain and sing’ I think that’s been in the back of my mind for a while, but only came out when you brought it up.
I’ve been subscribed forever but rarely comment…. But if you’d like to see a more serious “superfruit” video check out “the promise”…. It’s an ‘80’s tune but really shows their friendship well, and a great song and video!!!!! Please check it out!!!!!! Mitch singing “find you” by zedd is great too!!!!!! Thank you! Love your reactions!!!!!!😊❤️
Ex-dental assistant here-Yes it is encouraged that you bring a headset and music. JUST DON"T BRING MUSIC that will cause you to move your head (no head banging allowed).
Okay I've listened to probably 200 reactions to PTX and I gotta say yours is the best! Awesome shit! You catch things that most people blow right over. Awesome job, i love it. 🤙
Excellent reaction, Saucey Dad. Pentatonix can do any genre. They are super talented and creative and they put a lot of hard work in to everything they do. Remember this is all A Capella!! Mitch can rap - you've seen it in "Can't Sleep Love" live at Popspring 2016 (he does not do it in the official music video) and Superfruit "Feeling Myself". Some more recommendations for your reaction list "Can't Help Falling in Love with You (Elvis Presley cover); "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" (Elton John cover); "Imagine" (John Lennon cover); "Come Along" and for PTX originals - Anchor, Sing, Happy Now, and Coffee in Bed. Bring Slappy, dancing shoes, and a box of tissues.
This is one of my favorites. Didn’t mention it because it’s usually highly requested by many. You need to see the cover of Problem if you like Mitch rapping. 😂
Good Sir Saucey Dad...I humbly request you do some more Kirstin songs! I'd love to see you react to her Naked and Break a Little pretty please with saucy-saucy-ness on top!
Yay! So happy you finally reacted to this one! It's one of my faves. I like the up-beat happy songs. Hope you react to their original song "Sing" soon... whew, that's a lot of "sss" sounds! 😂
How insightful! All the times I have watched this I missed the depth of the video. You pointed out aspects that add to my appreciation of the awesomeness of this performance. Thanks!
I’ve been listening to headphones during all my dental procedures over the past year…if that’s what you’re doing, not just a cleaning, tell them it’s your nitrous. Heehee! BTW, Dave Matthews Band goes GREAT with nitrous. 🤣
I believe when they did this video Scott, Mitch, and Kirsten were 19-20 and Avi and K.O. are 21-22. They were just always so very talented. They blow my mind.
I KNEW even before I clicked you were going to bust out the unicorn helmet. 😂. Next try their original Sing. Same energy as this and has fans in the video. So. Much. Fun.
Yes, your analysis of the set up of the video was what I thought a while back (my thought process started at the Mitch rap...how they'd all dressed dorky but Mitch had come as himself...and then a penny dropped that the same was true for the other scenes too), but then I saw no one else pick up on that so I thought I was over thinking it. So I'm glad I'm not the only one to reach that conclusion. Kirstie's style had me puzzled because it was kind of alternative prom type thing, but it didn't fit with Avi, who just looks like himself there too, rock-chick Kirstie makes so much more sense. When you put the helmet down after the Mitch rap, I knew you'd pick it back up again. Lol.
Honestly I think all current singers/artists/bands/groups etc should be grateful that PTX chose the a cappell niche. If they had decided to go full pop or rap or whatever they would totally dominate. Instead they brought new life into an all but forgotten musical style. They are so good at everything they do 💜
Thanks, once again a great reaction. Since you have kids, I KNOW you will love Can You Feel the Love tonight from The Lion King. The SauceyDad kids will love it too! Keep Slappy close when you react to this one!!
They also do Maclemore's Thriftshop. I think it was even earlier than this one. The thing I like about them doing these maclemore songs is they take them at even a faster tempo than the orginals. They say they're not rappers but of course they're really good at it. If you want to hear Kevin & Matt rapping too check out their mashup cover of the bts butter/dynamite or one of their live performances of Joyful Joyful from their latest evergreen tour. Oh and Mitch absolutely nails the lead on that one too.
PTX had to be applying the lyrics to their own situation, rejected by the label and trying to "spread it across the country" themselves on UA-cam. One of my favorite moments is when Mitch changes the lyrics from "Wu-Tang raised you" to "Texas raised you" and gets a quick sidelong glance from Kevin.
Multi talented, every one of them. You still haven't heard Kevin play Beyonce yet, like he does in their cover of "Radioactive" that they did with the incredibly talented Lindsey Stirling.
They are one very talented group it is ashame mitch said he doesn't plan on doing anymore rap but you never know with mitch haha great reaction thank you 😊
Awe, the young babies❤️. My first PTX experience was in this era, “Somebody that I used to know” was my first song I heard. Actually because of Peter Hollens, I discovered him first before PTX/Avi and Lindsey Sterling. Think you should react to “I See Fire” by Peter…it’s amazing
This is indeed one of my favorite that they cover. Proud of you.. You found another adjective. Impeccable Love your reactions always fun to watch. You gave great insight to their purpose as to why they did the video like they did.. I watch other reactors and not one if them brought to the table about the 5 different scenes. I didn't even see that. You have to see the one where they are sitting down and clapping their hands on each other. I can't remember the name of the song, but I will find it. Got a question I would like to donate to your mouth thing. Just to help out because it's expensive. But I l live in Az and decided to change out old fillings for implants and at 10,000 dollars later and half way done, still without the actual teeth but recovering from the bone graphs. My dentist was arrested because she was not a dentist and never even been through Dental school. But the hardest part is keeping your mouth open for so long . I will get off my rant. But let me know please Familys stick together.. Thanks for the reactions. The song I was talking about is White. Winter Hymnal
You should check out the Ariana Grande cover of problem… Mich does an awesome job with the rap section that was originally performed by Iggy Azalea. Soooo good!!
My dentist absolutely allows for you to bring in headphones for procedures. Talk with your dentist prior to the appointment & let them know you're experiencing some anxiety about the visit & ask if they would mind. If they say it's a-ok, at the start of your visit, go over any communication gestures with your dentist & their assistant before you place them on.( Instructions on their behalf, & signaling you're ok etc..) I'd recommend waiting until after your numb before escaping to the headphones however. Just for the pre-talk & to make sure all is well before they go in. Best of luck!! p.s...this is my favorite non holiday cover of theirs. And ironically, it's the one I was reluctant about because, and I'm sorry, but I really hated the song at the time 😂. So I *really* didn't want to hear a cover of it. Jokes on me. Your joy over discovering new music & just loving it is infectious. You're having fun & makes *me* have fun. Hi, Slappy!! 🦄
Yes, so glad you did this one!! It's a great song/video. I would love for you to react to Superfruit and Shoshana Bean doing Pop goes Broadway. It's a 3 song mash-up. Shoshana is a big name in Broadway musicals. AND Mitch gives her a run for her musical money! Thank you Saucey Dad!!
That show is not freestyle. Those were pre-written but not really heard by the other side before. Appearantly the other group were quite vulgar/offensive in what they were writing so a lower member of staff convinced them and higher up staff to remove things about... showing Kirstie what's what in the tour bus (in a much worse and predatory way). PTX managed to hear some of their rehearsal to add some rebuttal but it's not freestyle.
This one just makes me feel good. Mitch rapping: "Problem"; Popspring "Can't Sleep Love"; You already did Superfruit "Feeling Myself" LOL
you got it, Gina, "Problem" is DEFINATELY the next 'to do' cover here! my full suport!
Definitely “problem”. A few days After I heard their version the actual song came on and I could barely tell a difference 😂
Mitch has bars! Scott and Kirstie too. There is seriously nothing they can't do; this is a brilliant performance. (Wise move to keep Slappy close at hand.)
I think you’d really like their original song “Sing” which also features several of their Patreon’s.
Mitch has FLOW.
Mitch was saying the other day on his Patreon podcast that he didn't think rapping was a particular strength of his.
I'm STILL not sure if he was joking, or if he is that self-unaware of his skill!
Wow. I feel like he doesn’t have any clue how good he is! He’s so special. If I ever join anyone’s patreon, it’ll be his.
I was drinking when I was listening to that pod, and I almost spit out my drink when he said it lol like what?! he can't be serious.
@@Kash7298 I know, right? I had to rewind and relisten to that bit.

YES! I definitely second reacting to the whole pop spring concert. One of their best live videos.
Thirded. Water is just gorgeous in this performance.

Mr. Mitch throws some serious bars down in their cover of
Pentatonix - Problem (Ariana Grande Cover) (Official Video)
It’s a MUST listen! ❤️
