ACDsee Ultimate is not only a terrific DAM but an excellent raw and pixel editor with layers and much more.

Had to replace my LR and Photoshop with as good or better than, software and after a trial year of many different replacements I settled on Affinity photo for PS and on1 photo raw for LR.
Affinity Photo was a day one great replacement however LR was a bit more of a problem. After a year using on On1 with the 2021 upgrade I have no regrets or doubt that it is a great replacement.
So of course I would like to see more attention paid to ON 1. Thanks for asking. Topaz studio 2 and Topaz sharpen rounds out my digital dark room. . Laminar 4 has its drawbacks but a place in the darkroom as well.

@Charles M, you and I followed amazingly similar software paths. Affinity Photo does not include tethering so I'm about to try it with On1 2021, which I like better than 2020. I have never tethered before.

Olivio, agree that it is powerful. Think about trying to accomplish that color manipulation using masking or HSL, Whew! Overload.

another excellent tutorial. Anyone who doesn't have Affintiy Photo can try it out free for 90 days and buy it for half price (bought mine back in March with the same great deal).

Think DXO Photolab-4 is very underrated as a RAW-Editor.
If your lens is in the DXO-Optical-Lens-Database (Lens tested and messed out) you have with RAW-Images
the best integrated Denoise-Tool, Sharpening- and Distortion-Tool on the market.
Great the new HSL-Tool with gray-mask for better visual isolating the picked color.
And the U-Point-Technology for Local-Masking in different ways.
My workflow, editing Raw-Images only with DXO, when i need more go to
    Affinity-Photo, Nik-Filter or Luminar 4.

Wow Just tried this on a photo taken in very harsh light and washed out and moved it to Topaz Studio 2 for a very pleasing paint effect. I probably could have done the whole thing in affinity but Studio 2 is very quick and easy to use once you have the photo where you want it. Thanks Great trick.

Topaz make some really nice effects. I think their products could be more successful if their website wasn't so confusing and they simply put everything in one tool, like Nik Collection does

Very nicely done!!! using a blank pixel layer and filling it with 50% gray will also work. Vergelts Gott.

@@maretus666 Unless you are using the Beta version I do not think AP uses the GPU so no advantage having one yet. When the Beta version goes live the GPU will be used I believe. RAM and a fast processor are your friends. AP also seems to use all the cores on my i7 8700K so as Olivio says, perhaps a stronger computer!
