    • @bydesignmethod
      @bydesignmethod  6 місяців тому +2

      Hey,
      First of all it's price - photoshop you 'rent' monthly via subscription and Affinity Photo is a one-time purchase.
      -Photoshop has more AI tools (generative fill, etc to create things for you)
      -I believe Affinity Photo is smoother and faster
      I went with Affinity Photo as my main tool (I used photoshop in school for graphic design, still picked Affinity)

      @@bydesignmethod Oh good God no! I left Adobe years ago. I use affinity and Pixelmator Pro. As an example of what I want to do? Imagine I have two pictures. The first is a scene of a countryside during the day and I select the sky. Then I have a second picture of another countryside at night and I select and copy that sky (moon and stars). All I wish to do is to copy the night sky and paste it into the sky of the first picture. Unbelievably I cannot do it whereupon as I said, I could do that in Photoshop 2. It is the simplest cut and paste job of all and yet affinity and Pixelmator Pro still can't do this and I have no understanding as to why it's not been done. There are plenty of paste options in affinity (paste, paste inside, paste style, paste FX, paste without format) and not one of them will do what I want to do. Try it for yourself.

    My only concern is my dwindling eyesight and the huge array of menu icons almost all around - Does Affinity cater for those of us who needs icons a bit larger….?

      Hey Matthew,
      Although you can't change icon size in Affinity, you have a few options:
      For your tools you can remove what you might not need by going to 'view > customise tools' and dragging them off
      You can do the same for the top toolbar by going to 'view > customise toolbar'
      Many users have found changing the icons to black and white helps - this can be done by going to 'settings > user interface' and checking off 'Monochromatic Icongraphy'
      Under these settings you can also make your font bigger and change the background style from light to dark (i like dark personally)
      Affinity Photo allows you to close panels and only bring them back when needed as well. This can free up some room.
      The icons COULD be made larger by changing the settings on your computer (overall change) as well.
      Let me know if I can help in any other way!

      Hey you can try exporting the file as an .EPS file for text. This is something I believe Affinity is working on.
