You made me feel so much better! I am going to watch this video multiple times. I am 30 years old and I left a well paying job after my divorce to move to another state. I am completely starting over. I just got a job as a CNA and I enrolled in Nursing school for the Fall of 2019. I am so encouraged by your advice. Thank you for making this video! You're patients are lucky to have you!
I congratulate you on your success. I work part-time 6:30am -2:30pm have a 6 year daughter. Start my perquisites in April 2018 these perquisites are only like 2 weeks and Anatomy 1 and 2 is 5 weeks start LPN in September 2018. Hours 8:30am-1:30pm Monday to Thursday. By September I too will be working every Friday and weekends. My job will work around my schedule. This is only for 1 year. I know I can do it with the help of the most high Shalom.
Shanee Hayles this is me right now, and I needed to watch this to reassure myself it can be done, I have like 3 exams a week, still working full time, I want to cry every day! 😢
Thank you for sharing something realistic. A lot of videos I've watched the people state that they worked full time and went to nursing school full time but they either worked from home online or they were able to do most of their classes online. Not everyone can work from home online and most nursing programs require all classes to be taken on campus. I begin my RN program in September of this year and I'm so grateful for your video because I was really trying to figure out how I was going to work full time and go to school full time. You are definitely a blessing. Keep being inspirational!
That’s so good to hear. You def have to have a plan when you work and do school both full-time. Good luck with every thing. Let me know if you have any video requests.
About two months ago, I had a weird calling to become a CNA and then become a LPN (I was raised by teachers and have always thought I would become a teacher like most of my family so it was shocking to be called into the medical field) I stumbled on your channel about a month ago and I am so very glad I did. You are so passionate and so helpful with this field. Thank you for posting because you are such a motivational and genuine person. Congrats on your accomplishments and I hope you have a wonderful career 😊❤️
O, thank you so much, your so sweet. As a nurse sometimes I get scared or feel discouraged but being able to do these vids for you all really motivates ME to continue on this path. So are you a CNA now? How did your family feel when you told them about wanting to be a nurse?
yourfavnurseb actually I am taking classes in August to become a CNA but I am so so excited to get to that point. My family was so happy for me to choose this path and surprisingly, my mother was the most excited. She said if it is a calling, then it is God saying to push forward so I am going with my gut. Thank you for these videos because they really provide such a wonderful insight featuring the good, bad, and ugly. You are such an inspiration especially to me and I am so glad I found you. Thanks for being a motivator and I hope you succeed far in your life. You totally deserve it ❤️
I am a mother, I just changed careers and of course I am starting from fresh. I’ve applied at Cleveland Clinic Hospital as an PCNA, prayerfully I can do 3day 12hrs (nights/weekends) preferably. Go to school during the day/week. I honestly believe that’ll fit for me. However I know that God will see me through, I have a made up mind to cut off the outside world and remain focus. I believe time management is a HUGE priority and remain focused!!! THANK YOUUU!!!! Thank you for such wisdom and encouragement to empower us on this journey. I been following you and your videos are so needed!!! Thanks again🥰🤍💙
Just an quick update, a month later i now work for Cleveland Clinic with 3 day 12hr shift thats nights and rotating weekends. worked out perfectly. start on my floor today.. So excited
I’m almost in my 30 and decided to go to a accelerated Lvn/lpn starting this august. I’m honestly scared and excited but my main concern is work. I do not want to go back to my parents because they’re toxic as hell. This really is giving me hope. A little late but thank you. I hope all is well.
I AM SO GLAD I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL! YOU ARE VERY ENCOURAGING!!!!! I LIKE YOUR STRONG MINDSET AND PERSONALITY. I AM GOING FOR LVN NEXT YEAR AND HOPEFULLY WORK MY WAY UP TO BE A NURSE! I HOPE I SURVIVE. I MEAN NO, I WILL SURVIVE, I HAVE TO SURVIVE AND I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SURVIVE :D
This is genius! I start Nursing School next semester. Transfered into the BSN program from the PTA program. Thank you for these tips!! I'm also an auditory learner. I learn best hearing, writing, and making associations. Will definitely be using these tips.
@@merlinel3855 I wanted more responsibility, was in between both pta and nursing. Also, signs just kept pointing to nursing. I'm in the ADN now for financial reasons. But I'm glad I did!
@@tearragunter3803 How much did you get paid as a PTA and what do you mean by more responsibilities? I was looking into the PTA program at my school, but nursing is more flexible and wider for different specialties.
You are wonderful. I hope you go all the way to the TOP! CRNA baby! You're so young and such an inspiration. Thank you for taking your time to help all of us. Since I faced my biggest fear of having a baby, now I'm ready for more challenges
Love your videos.. you’re one of the few nurses I’m able to watch bc the info is so real, articulate and your spirit just seems like its full of love and helpfulness. I do have to say I disagree with kids being excuses...some ppl don’t use their children as an excuse. Some ppl like myself see their children as their responsibility and priority. Especially if their the sole providers due to being a single parent. So yes if you don’t have ANY responsibilities like children then your priority is you or your education. Which is why we tell kids and have been told as kids...your only job, responsibilities and priority is your education so get it while you can.
Omgee I loved this 😩😂 ! First of all, THE GRIND! & just the motivational energy I’m getting from you. Yes its hard but like you said, its just a yr. Or just 6months. I definitely think breaking it down like that helps it not be so overwhelming. The part about what you did for your work schedule really helped. I’m trying to break mines down and this helped me understand what to do. Congrats girl!! You did that !🎉
Thank you for your video! Very motivational. I am a CNA, about to be a QMA at the end of the month. I want to start the prerequisites/nursing school but I HAVE to work full time, I don’t have a choice. Thank you for encouraging us! Very helpful!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Very random question, what were your eating habits like? Did you take supplements to help keep your energy up? In terms of children, your support system matters so much! When you don't have adequate childcare, funds, etc...It makes it difficult cuz at the end of the day, they are your priority to keep alive and nurtured (at the bare minimum loll) Definitely not an excuse but that prioritization aspect? It gets tough, lines can be blurred but it is absolutely doable and even more so when you have a dope support system to help pick up where you may (and will) fall short.
this video is so motivating to me because I work as a cna double weekends one night a week and just enrolled in nursing school. And im also a wife and a mother of 4 so thank u B!

V M thank you. The whole time o was nursing school i thought about teaching nurses. i have a long way to go esp in developing my own skills and my own nursing philosophy before feeling like ive earned the right to formally educate future nurses. But with a bsn i will be able to teach lpns so i plan on doing that.
wow! lets be friends lol I love the realness I cant lie Ive been through so much in my life since 18 years old I had a child at 21 im fixing to be 23 now and these past two years 2018-2020 have been hell for me. I keep telling myself I might as well go right back to schol and finsh my adn rn program because at the end of the day thats something ive been called to do instead of radiology . and im always saying i got too much time on my hands even raising a son now and while im still young i can finish rn school straight out while being there for my son its not as hard with the right mindset and support from my husband makes it much better cause we got each other so yes kids should be motivation not an excuse very much true !
yourfavnurseb Yes they call them Patient care techs at my local hospital and no you just have to have taken the CNA class and it helps you more if you got your lisense which I did. The website that I applied for the position on said you may have to have at least a year of experience because some of the floors require it but my floor doesn't. it's the progressive care unit I applied to work on.
Cool, here in STL I heard its hard/takes a long time to get into a hospital. I def think it will give you alot of experience, had I known about it, I'd prob would have tried to get into a hospital as an aide and then have them pay for my nursing school.
yourfavnurseb Yeah, I had to go through 3 different interviews and some job shadowing. That's nice that the hospitals there pay for your school. I live in Arkansas so idk if they do it here but I need to check up on that because that would really relieve a burden off my shoulders lol.
I kind of get it.. I think. I work at the hospital. 12 hour 7pm to 7:30am. If I work the weekend, let's say Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I can be at school for Monday through Friday?. Maybe that will work if I live close to the school. Also talk to the manager about that kind of schedule. I dont know really....Whats your advice on that? I am definitely subscribing.
Sounds like it will work. I’m back in school now and I work as an agency nurse and it works really well with my school schedule. Plus I can work less and make more
It's good you were able to work while going to nursing school, but the main thing I got from this is your job has to be willing to work around your school schedule. Unfortunately, my job ain't it lol🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️I wanted to do the full time nursing session starting in August, but I know my job won't give a darn, so im going to have to wait until the part time session starts in January. Another 7 months of waiting, and its 3 years instead of 18 months🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Are you in healthcare? I think working on healthcare gives you the best options as far as schedule. Or maybe look for new work since you have some time. But dang that’s prob hard right now. But it may be worth it. Either way good luck with everything, it may be better to wait anyways with everything going on, maybe you will be able to take classes in person by Jan. But then again if you start in August you may not even have to worry about your job bc the school May still be online. I would contact the school and see
U r ight about the kid situation.... im in nursing school with one son...this will be my 3rd degree also... but u have to understand some people dont have a supportive background when it comes to success
New subscribe here. I'm thinking about going back to school and become a Certified Nursing Leader. My undergrad is in Business but I did have a background in nursing before I switched my major because my life was a mess when I started. 8 years have gone by and my calling is in Healthcare. I'm planning to start the program next fall and I'm preparing myself now. Trying to figure out how to pay bills, put food on the table for my daughter and I while going to school full time for CNL. I'm signing up for a CNA class this fall so at least I could start doing this part-time aside from my full-time job and earn experience. So when I start my program, I can still work after school and on weekends. I just need to manage my time and focus on learning. I can give up 2 years of my time....
I like you. I always seen the thumbnails to your videos but didn't click them until now and I am grateful I did. Please tell me more about your personal life while you were in school such as;we're you living on your own did you have roommates how was your experience getting to clinically did you drive catch a ride? basically I want to know your struggles while in nursing school! I start in 3days I'm going part time.
I'm new LPN graduate. I plan on going back for my RN. I honestly don't know if I can do school and work at the same time. At the same time I don't wanna take another loan 😫
I’m doing a LPN to RN bridge now and working agency. Maybe try looking into that because I can work less hours and get paid more per hour and it’s very flexible, I only pick up when I want to
As shes saying the balance thing about work school and life an add popped up and was like "Today's students need balance in work, life, and school" lmao
great video. I am struggling with this now. I have a very demanding job that takes up a lot of my time. all i do is work. ns is tough as is. some days I am in tears thinking of how to do this. I have been contemplating leaving and getting something less pressure filled. I love your saying of i will be someone's nurse. thank you.
No job is worth the stress, after a while of spending so much time in a stressful or miserable environment it wears on your soul. Are you able to leave your job or do you feel like you have to stick it out?
yourfavnurseb I was going to stick it out but changed my mind a few weeks ago. I am there until like 9pm (i start at 8am) most days. it's so demanding. I am now trying to find something where I can work ft hrs but weekends like how you did. this video is timely as I feel like I am supposed to leave but the money is really good. and benefits. also trying to find a job while working ft n ns is tough but I can do it.
I think that it is not fair to say that people are using their kids as an excuse for not being successful. Kids are more than a distraction, they rely solely on you. Yes, it's absolutely doable, but it's much harder to balance kids than it is to balance work. And when you are talking full time job, nursing school, AND three kids - the kids is harder for me to balance than my job. My job doesn't suddenly fall ill in a round rosey manner. My job doesn't require that I balance three different venues and three different fee schedules and three different class expectations (i.e. - mom, why aren't you at my play, etc? Or mom, I need help with school. Or, mom I need basically anything) Then you have to feed these people as well which requires more planning when it comes to meals. So yes, you should still push forward and do what you need to do, but there is a big difference from you only being responsible for you than being responsible for an entire house full of people AND ALSO you. I'm just talking about a muuuuch diminished amount of time to budget from the beginning. Does that mean we don't still hustle? Absolutely not. But I can't hear this minimization of the struggle parents who go back to school make.
Crystal deGreef thanks for the comment, im referring to people who say that they cant go to school because they have kids. Thats what i mean by using kids as an excuse.
New subbie ..i love your crystals in the back..ive already looked up crystals that help with studying & focus..thanks for the info great video ..i will be someone's nurse i will be successful
YES YOU WILL! So weird you said that, I packed my crystals up since I now use that room as a nursery for my daughter but today I found a crystal in one of my old purses. I need to get back into using crystals -nurseB

So are you saying you ONLY worked Thursday evening, and do doubles on Saturday and Sunday to have full time hours? Like Monday Tuesday and Wednesday you didn’t work at all?
I have a question so after community college courses and stuff and you graduate community college. Then You go to nursing school and work at the same time?
Depends on what route you want to take. Some people go straight into a nursing program, some take prerequisites at a community college then transfer to a nursing program and some go to a technical school like I did. Here’s a vid that talks more about how to get into nursing school. ua-cam.com/video/aBtAtkZHGOU/v-deo.html

Kayla W You can do it
The fact that I’m going into nursing school and we have the same name 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
:) thats a good sign!
So true. Thank you for sharing . Amazing.
You're such an inspiration, God bless you and congrats!!!
I’m gonna be recording my teacher weather she/he agrees or not cuz sis I pay my money 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love it!
I would contact the school and see
In nursing school now and working on becoming valedictorian. I’m on the president’s list and working hard to stay on it every semester
And you have a beautiful smile keep going!!
Inspired to get into school. Thank you
U r ight about the kid situation.... im in nursing school with one son...this will be my 3rd degree also... but u have to understand some people dont have a supportive background when it comes to success
Vanessa the Urban Tarot Goddess u def are right. We all have our own obstacles.
Amen 🙏🏾 thank god for people like you
New subscribe here.
What type of positions can a certified nursing leader do? Is that like administration?
Noi Israel good questions, will do. ill post this week
Noi Israel congrats with school
thanks love!
Hey, I posted a video as a respond to your question. Thx again for commenting and watching my vids
yourfavnurseb checking it out now!
I am very nervous about working full time and nursing school
I'm new LPN graduate. I plan on going back for my RN. I honestly don't know if I can do school and work at the same time. At the same time I don't wanna take another loan 😫
I’m doing a LPN to RN bridge now and working agency. Maybe try looking into that because I can work less hours and get paid more per hour and it’s very flexible, I only pick up when I want to
@@yourfavnurseb9699 Thank You I will
As shes saying the balance thing about work school and life an add popped up and was like "Today's students need balance in work, life, and school" lmao
Each time I want to give you another like but I liked already...well I am giving you 100 likes...very good presentation..God bless you!
Thank you, I hope these tips help you!
great video.
Thank you very much for the clarification. Everything else you said was spot on so I was like... what?! Congrats on your progress!
I need to get back into using crystals

❤ I needed this one
I'm so grateful to have come across your UA-cam channel!!! You are so motivating. I'm currently finishing up my CNA, applying to LPN program. I will be working at the same time. Thank you for being so positive! Are you in social media? Would love to connect with you!
I love love this video!!! I’m headed to nursing school soon. Girl... You sound like you’re from St. Louis. I love your accent!
Good video. I am already irritated because every time a disease is mentioned, certain people have to tell how their family has it and won't shut up.
Lol I just talked about this in my latest what to expect while in nursing school vid. It’s suuuuucch a waste of time
I’m planning on starting the pre reqs this September and then applying one my pre reqs are out of the way. I’m nervous about working FT but I know if I stay focused I can do this. Thank you!
Update?
hello you think very similar to me, I like your videos you're going to go very far I congratulate you, I love your channel
I notice your crystals in the background... Any spiritual tips for getting through nursing school?
You gotta change your mindset. I do a lot of affirmations and meditation
Reduce Anxiety, Pass Tests & Become a Nurse! Guided Meditation/Affirmations for Nursing Students ua-cam.com/video/3aRaQLmt-M8/v-deo.html
Can you please do a video on what a new nurse can expect? I will be graduating next week. I still have to take my boards but I am a bit nervous to start working as a nurse. How do you get into nurse mood after being a CNA for so long?
wi;; do and congrats!
Great question, will do. And congrats on finishing school.
-nurse B
I am in school but A&P is kicking my butt. What advise you have?
Do you have any videos on working night shifts? I got an opportunity to work nights at the hospital as a CNA and I’m SUPER nervous.
Sarah Henderson ua-cam.com/video/gXTeu07Yk9k/v-deo.html
Great advice!
thx
I'm thinking about becoming an LPN but never did anything in the medical field. should I become a cna first?
I highly suggest you do that, I'll be posting a video talking more about why.

Heyy I’m getting ready to start nursing school. I really want to aim high and my goal is becoming valedictorian. Could you tell me what your gpa was?
Omg! I am about to go to school, I been a STNA for 8yrs, I am so ready to be LPN I’m nervous though
Congrats, nerves are good, push through it. Make sure you join the yourfavnurseb fb group for support while in nursing school, plus I post there often
-nurseb
You forgot to say ask the lecturer's permission to record. Good content.
True! Thanks. I’ve seen that some professors put in their syllabus that you have to ask for permission

subscribed I work 2 jobs trying to look for a new place to live and trying to go for this RN
Thanks for sharing!
So are you saying you ONLY worked Thursday evening, and do doubles on Saturday and Sunday to have full time hours? Like Monday Tuesday and Wednesday you didn’t work at all?
Ta'rynn Rosè yes. I work 16 hours on Saturday 16 on Sunday and 7 hours on thursdays. So it was a lil under 40 a week
Congratulations
Congratulations!!!
I'm trying to work it out with my scheduler for I get my schedule I just want to work the weekend to an just do my LPN program but the thing is my job only offer 12hour shifts so I'm thinking do prn an working the weekend and is hard w nursing cause my girl gets emotional when I spend to much tyme studying in not being w her it's a lot it's hard balancing everything
Demario yes I totally get it my husband would get upset and be like well why cant you come study and watch tv with me. Its hard for people to get your dedication but you have to stick to your goals regardless and hopefully she will be more understanding. Good Luck, just remember that you are going to be someones nurse so you cant compromise
I love everything about you lol 💙
Thank youuuuuu😚😚
