Hey Nurse B! I watched this video when I started my LVN program and loved it, so helpful. Here I am now going into an RN program this fall and I instantly thought of this video. Thanks for all your advice
I lucked up and stumbled across your videos. NurseB you are by far one inspiring person. I was placed on the waitlist last year now here we are. I have watched and watched certain videos multiple times, ive went from CMT, CNA, CNA2 to now ADN school. I’ve had a mix of emotions happy afraid nervous you name it and your videos make this journey (one that I know isn’t going to be easy ) one I’m ready for! You’re heaven sent!! ❤️
yourfavnurseb certified Nursing Assistant 2 so It allows you to prime lines, insert/ remove foley catchers, tube feed, Trach care. Remove IV’ start them in the ER.... Think that hits the nail on the head. It gave me more skills and a pay increase
I don't have a cheerleader... Imma motivate myself cause I don't have friends... and my family has a lot going on already so. 🙏🙏 Thanks for the video. t'was very helpful
I'm cheering for you too! And I agree with haley, but I do have a few people that are my support system. But I'm my biggest supporter. Just don't give up and know that you can always come to this channel and comment and someone will be there to support you.
I am so encouraged. I watch this video over and over. I will be starting the nursing program fall of 2019 and I am so excited to do it and become a nurse. This video will definitely be a go to.
In your opinion, do you think that it helps you to get more great job offers when graduating nursing school if you have a long and consistent history while working in a nursing home setting or home health care for those who are not certified nurses?
Thanks for this vid! It's so trippy & ironic that more than half of what you said in this vid is what I was thinking/have planned to prep for nursing school. Your vids are really great and helpful. They always validate my thoughts in relation to nursing, which is so encouraging. It's nice to know there's someone out there who has our best interests in mind. Thank you!
Hey there, I'm in my early 30s and finally starting my BSN this fall. Thank you for making this video, as a parent of 2 kids under 5 yrs old and a wife, this has been soooooo helpful and raw. Thank you. Thank you.
When people say that you don't need to prepare for nursing school, I LAUGH!!! YES, YOU DO! People say that you are paying the teachers to train you to become a nurse. Yeah, true but if you are struggling, they will kick you out. So, yes. You need to be OVERPREPARED for nursing school. The prerequisites do not fully prepare you for nursing school.
I have never thought of becoming a nurse but thank God for your informative videos. Am preparing to start my LPN this fall and am looking forward to learn more about nursing from you. Thank you so much may God bless you. . and O h yes I CAN BE A NURSE. Thumbs up!
Hey there! I just got accepted into nursing school and will be starting my program in the January . I came across your video and it was EXTREMELY helpful! Thank you so much!
Thank you for this! I really want to hear about you working full time in nursing school. That is what I plan to do because I support myself completely. I really want to hear about some people that did it successfully!
I'm in St. Louis and trying to get in an lpn program this aug! Failed the wonderlic test 1/18/2019 @ the met center. Plan to take the hesi 7/2019 @ St. Louis College of health careers. Glad I found yr channel❤
I can see Gods love shining through you girl! You are a blessing. Btw, this is my sons email( he gave me this phone) my name is Teresa. Please, please keep making videos. You have a special calling. I am at the beginning of my nursing journey. I am 47, a grandma of 10 beautiful grandbabies. I graduated from college 20 some yrs ago as a medical assistant. That certification ran out. Now that my kids are grown up, i get to do this for me! Much love and prayers for your debt to be paid for for school❤❤❤❤
Trying to get into a decent part-time job before CNA program starts so I can build some respect with management for when I gotta say "hey I've got school"
Aww you’re such a sweetheart. Now I see why you’re a wonderful nurse! Love this video and all of your positivity. I’m currently waiting for the email to see if I’m accepted. I’m praying hard and thanking God for what He’s about to do in my life. I’m going to watch more of your videos now. ❤️
Thank you for sharing and keeping it real. I will be entering the LPN program this Fall 2018 and trying to get insight what I should expect, what to do while in the program etc. Your video is very helpful.
Thank you for this. I’m embarking on nursing school & things are about to get crazy lol I’m from saint Louis but live in Indiana. We are thinking about moving back this summer. I love that you’re from STL & give ref to resources there 👍🏼
This is by far the best advice! I am starting my prerequisites this spring term April and I’m already looking to look/setup study area and stock up in essentials and save $$$ Incase I can’t work during nursing school 👍🏼
love this video ❤ I'm not in school yet(about to start at a community college) but I'm gonna start to sock money away so that when I do start nursing school I don't have to work, thank you for this video and happy New year!!!
Thanks for commenting. I never really think that younger people watch my vids but now that I know I'll do a vid on how to prepare for nursing school while in high school. Before you know it, you'll be on your way to nursing school. Let me know if you want to see any other videos. -yourfavnurseb
I’ve only applied to jobs that offer tuition reimbursement because I am paying for nursing school out of pocket (this is my second career). I will also be applying for scholarships.
I love your videos (wish you'd make more of them) your insight is so valuable and you make so many valid points. I work 24 hours a week Friday-Sunday and go to school the rest of the week. when I started the position like you said I was very upfront about my availability and that paid off for me. I make sure not to work outside those days that I said I'll be able to cause I don't want them to start to think they can put me on those days. I'm about to take A&P 1 with lab this summer along with English and psychology. This video is very motivating to me. At this very moment watching this I'm cleaning up my whole house because the summer semester starts on the 5th of June (going for my ADN) and I want to have a clean home and mind. I love your attitude please continue to be successful at what you're doing you really inspire me.
Thx, Im glad you like the vids. I'm getting as many out as I can esp before my baby is due. You're going to have a BUSY summer (but you got it). I have some tips for studying for A&P, I'll post a vid soon, so stay tuned.
Hey, I love how you are not afraid to mention God. I was a stay at home mom for twenty years. Raising my husband and I twelve children. Seven girls 👧and five boys 👦! I would love to get into nursing school now! My kids are all in school now. Listening to several nursing videos of many people, their stories are kind of frightening.( Chemistry, A&P 1, A&P2, microbiology, etc;) What are your Recommendations? Plus I understand I would have to do my pre riqs first.
God is the reason for all my blessings, including being able to help people through this channel. I'll do a video on prereqs. But, of course its hard, but so is raising 12 kids! So you got this. Really with prereqs its all about being smart about how you plan your courses, sometimes people take on way too much too fast. I'll try to crank out a video in the next few days. -nurse B
Bronical Oglesby I raised 11 children.I will be starting my adn in nusing in August.I'm 59.My program is a 4 semester program in a community college. I cant wait. You might want to go to an 2 year adn program instead of a 4 year. bsn program.
Thank you for this video it was very helpful I especially like the part about writing a letter to yourself. looking forward to the rest of this series.
Thank you so much for this great video girl. Your an Angel. One thing also those of us who get our nails and hair done will have to cut back. I am doing my pre- Nursing classes in the fall. Pray for me please.
aww thx. You're right I didnt even think about that, good thing all I spent money on for real was my brows which was $9, but I did have to start getting my locs re twisted by a pro while in school and i studied the whole time I would get it done. I never had the energy or time to do it myself
Great great info... you basically talked about everything under the moon... you have 2 get all ur ducks in order before starting nursing school & plan things out accordingly.. im going back 2 school for nursing, i have to finish my prereq's first & a high G.P.A.. TFS! New subbie here 🖑😁👑
Hey. ..thanks so much for this so helpful. Also want to wish you a safe delivery all the best.Am a mom of 2 girls and next year will be taking my nursing course God willing ..am super super happy its my dream come true. thanks much Girl.
love your videos..my program starts tuesday..it's a ladder program, so we did cna befor exceptance, first year is lpn, and after you have to pass the nclex lpn to move to the rn year. I would love a study video. Our pass rate is an 80 which is a little scary..but with God I know its not to big.
I'll have an extensive one up soon to go with this "YOU can be a nurse" series. THx for watching and congrats on school, it sounds like a great program since everything is progressive.
This is such a helpful video! My friend and I just finished our first semester and made a video talking about our experience if you want to check it out! But again, this is great and don't stop doing your thing because you're very helpful and you'll do great things!
You are amazing thank you so much for this video. I have faith in myself & my willingness too proceed with going too nursing school ❤️ definitely subbing 😊
It is so important that you continue to motivate and believe in yourself. Nursing school is amazing and crazy all together. Even when times get tough, you have to tell yourself that you've got this. :)
Thank you so much for all you do!! You are amazing I'm a CNA I want to for LPN I'm thinking how I'm going to do it.After listening to you I feel like I'm ready to start my journey❤💞🎶
Hi, hope you're doing well. Have you planned more for what you're going to do about school? Let me know if you have any video ideas that can help you. -yourfavnurseb
Thanks for the video. I was accepted to nursing school and I am nervous of course. If you don’t mind me asking, how are you paying for school? I have another degree so I don’t get much money. Stay strong and I will keep you in my prayers. My program is full -time accelerated, I cannot work full time and they won’t give me part time. Ps: I am giving up a desk job with gym benefits for nursing school, I am so anxious, nervous etc... God bless you, you motivate me at times when I question myself.
Sorry, I thought that I replied to your question. While in nursing school I got loans but still had to pay part of tuition in cash. Now, as a nurse I pay out of pocket for pre reqs for my RN. But, I work fulltime, and my job offers tuition reimbursement, which I put towards the classes. Try looking at unemployment center in your area and see if they have programs to help you pay for school, does the school offer scholarships? You may just have to get loans, which suck but, afterwards you can look into loan forgiveness. Good luck and God Bess - yourfavnurseb
Hi i want to take a bs nursing for this incoming school year but I'm still doubting my decision because i think itstoohard for me 😣 What should i need to do?
Make up your mind and make a decision. Only you can give yourself the confidence to go for what you want. But I highly suggest you do research on several programs price, time and pre reqs. See if you can do prereqs at the community college to make it cheaper and just learn as much about a program before you apply. It’s more than likely going to be hard but if you want it you will put forth the effort and you will be stronger because of it
Thank you so much for the awesome video, you are very passionate with your career and you inspired me also. I would like to be a LPN but I have some problems with medical vocabulary because I'm a immigrant. I just took the CNA course. I need some advice from you, can you tell me what kind of book I can read to help me increase my vocabulary please. I would like to start the program next year. Thanks again you really help to motivate with my career. I'm waiting for your answer. Thanks again
Hey, I had a question. I'm in the military and work nights, Sunday night through Thursday night. Everyone keeps saying it's too much to go to nursing school with my job and family. I took some classes while working before and maintained my 4.0 but I hear nursing school is very difficult. In your opinion, is it possible to do? I'm waiting for the next semester to start but I'd really like to hear what you think before I do
Emt B Hello, first off thanks for your military service. Watch my working while in nursing school videos if you havent already. With your schedule it's going to be a challenge bc youll have to work then probably go straight to school then from school try to rest and then go back to work. So unless you can study while at work, you may find it hard to have any real focused and well rested study time. Is there any way that you can work longer shifts on the weekend so that you can work less during the school week? On the other hand if youve been to school and managed a 4.0 with your work schedule then ur doing something right. I would see about adjusting your work schedule and also see what hours you would be in school and clinicals (to see how you can work around them). You may want to look at part time or online options when it comes to school. Its possible esp if you have the drive to accomplish it. People will always tell you not to do something, and its usually based on their short comings not yours. Let me know what you decide to do.
Hey Brandi 👋🏾 I'm getting ready to take my entry exam soon , I'm not at all good with math I mean math in general I feel so stupid trying to remember all the rule to math period. Can you give me some pointers on this? I have been reading math for dummies but I still have a hard time remembering what I learned or read..
Hey there, I'll admit that I'm not a math wiz but what helped me was using a GED book. I first did the practice exam in the back (timed myself). Then I looked at what areas I needed to focus on. I would go to that section in the book and do practice questions, then after about a week or two of studying at least an hour a day I took the math test in the back over again (still timed myself) and looked to see if I improved and went from there. First get an idea of where you need the most help, use the book, use youtube as a resource (there are a lot of smart people that break down math easily). You can also try websites like mathhelp where you can put in a question and they break down how to answer them. The thing I learned about math is that it just takes time and practice you have to stay studying to get familiar and comfortable with the material. I hope this helps, and good luck on your exam. Let me know how it goes and if you have any video request.
kendra palmer Try KhanAcademy and study.com for your math and down load math apps . You have to remember the definitions and not just the steps only. Get a tutor or go to your tutoring center. Get Study books and work sheets, math is reputation, you have to also practice. Don't let the fear of math defeat you or discourage you. Learn your basic math, and basic algebra. That foundation helps and remember to get a good tutor. Your not in this alone, don't feel stupid, get pass the embarrassment and shame once that's over you ain't gonna care cause you will have this fight to learn math. How bad do you want it? So you have to conquer it and defeat it even if it's going back to the basic math and elementary math .You can do it, doubt will paralyze you.
I have probably listened around 100 videos on tips for nursing students.. Honestly this is THE BEST one... I am not even kidding !

A&P is brutal! In some ways, I think it is harder than the actual nursing courses.
Haley Ann, Student Nurse lol. It is brutal. But nursing courses can be more brutal.
Still waiting for the pharmacology video... 😉

It is so important that you continue to motivate and believe in yourself. Nursing school is amazing and crazy all together. Even when times get tough, you have to tell yourself that you've got this. :)

Good luck and God Bess

Hi i want to take a bs nursing for this incoming school year but I'm still doubting my decision because i think itstoohard for me 😣
What should i need to do?
Make up your mind and make a decision. Only you can give yourself the confidence to go for what you want. But I highly suggest you do research on several programs price, time and pre reqs. See if you can do prereqs at the community college to make it cheaper and just learn as much about a program before you apply.
It’s more than likely going to be hard but if you want it you will put forth the effort and you will be stronger because of it
Awesome video! I start in January :)
Congrats, make sure you join the yourfavnurseb fb group and good luck with school.

Did you have any older classmates (over 40 y/o) in your program?
Yes, I had 2 over 40 and the average age I would say was around 33-38
Great video! Some questions for you about ged. Look forward to hearing back from you soon. Thanks

Can I also get loan from my job?
Depends on what your job offers. My job has a loan program and with 2 years of employment the loan is paid off
Hey Brandi 👋🏾 I'm getting ready to take my entry exam soon , I'm not at all good with math I mean math in general I feel so stupid trying to remember all the rule to math period.
Great advice.
