I came from a hell situation in long term care to a new job that feels like I'm being spoiled. These nurses don't even know how good they got it! Tried to bully me saying " oh that's my cart" no honey, I don't see your name and I'm already half way through my shift. No way! 😂 bullies don't faze me! And I don't care, I tell them how it is.

I am too late on the train because I will graduate with my BA this spring with a solid GPA, but now I want to change my career path to nursing. I have scheduled an appointment with an advisor, and I hope things will transition smoothly. I'm nervous, anxious, and frustrated with myself because I feel I am starting all over.

The program recently started at a technical college in my area for lpn only.Its a lpn to rn program but it's a diploma instead of an associate degree.Its a one year program for $8000 for the whole year.Been watching you for years.I would like to hear your thoughts.

I think if you are in a position with really good pay and good work life balance theres nothing arong with just coasting and being happy! I would be looking at nuturing outside projects that foster your creativity that has nothing to do with work lol

My journey: ABSN and started critical access med surg w little icu non-vented pts, did 15 mos. Hospice 6 mos. Prison psych 10 mos, stepdown neuro 2 mos 😮😮. My orignal hospital floor upped night shift diff by $3/hr so ive just had my 1st shift back there. Damn i didnt leave thinking i knew "it all" but i FINALLY realize how much ive learned since then and how much more *experiencal learning* i need. I dont have space for school in my brain bc im learning each 12hr shift. Maybe another 2-3 years I'll reassess.

Advice do what makes you feel the moat sane. You already said that you dont want to go to school. Then you mentioned shadowy and exploring furtheri youe education. Fro. My POV you are ambitious, because you have goals. You have a plan to pay down debt, buy a home a and sharpening your nursing skills. I am inspired.

I missed your live…I’m in a funk! I’m lost in my nursing profession 😩😭 like you said no ambition! I work M-F as a care manager..no longer enjoy it. Had the opportunity to do a weekend job at hospital but I haven’t been at the bedside since 2016…don’t think I want to go back to that. Don’t have mental capacity to go back to school! Chile…out here lost and dazed and confused 😂😢

Lvn was Harder!

On the flip side, too many nurses wasted their money becoming a nurse and NOT being a CNA first. Working as a CNA BEFORE or during nursing school is literally a preview of what you are getting yourself into. So many of these nurses think nursing it's just about IV medications and charting. No sweetheart. It's poop, bedpans, linen changes, bathing and whatever else you think a CNA is "suppose" to be doing. It's teamwork and about the patient not what you think you went to school for at the end of the day.

I quit after 9yrs as a LNA/CNA. There were times i had 80 residents only CNA making $11 an hour. I moved to Vermont making $30 an hour as an LNA, I only had a few residents but the administrator was a complete B. She yell cuss and go off over smallest things. It was a power thing. So i quit and walk out. I got a job doing personal tech which only pays $17 but you work just like a LNA. I dreaded going to work absolutely dread. I now do janitor work for a couple schools making only $17 an hour and absolutely love it. Kids are nice the teachers are nice and work by myself most of the time at my own pace. Stress was killing me and Im so much happier now. I miss some of the residents but it what i had to do. I cried when one of the residents died but thats the only time. I just go off on lazy staff.

Would you suggest working full time while taking nurse pres?

CNA 11.36 ending pay 17.40 LPN $33.37 to $40 as a new grad and im now bridging over.
