Harbor Freight Welding Table casters

- I needed to be able to move my welding table around in my shop. So I added some Harbor Freight casters to my Harbor Freight welding table. LOL. The factory studs for the legs are smaller than the caster studs so I shaved the factory nuts off with a Hercules grinder cut off wheel. Then I drilled out the holes to 1/2" and added the casters. Works great and very easy to move around now. I am not worried about the table walking off when welding on it, because it will be outside on the ground when I am doing welding projects. Thanks for watching.

When I did a similar caster install on mine I noticed that rolling it over bumps/seams the sheet metal bottom of leg would bend so I welded 4 tabs inside of leg to help support the caster stems about an inch above the leg bottoms and this worked for me
Thank you. Great idea.
I agree with you, but I like to have casters that have a locking brake.
Yes sir, if it was going to be used on a completely flat surface, I would have too. But it sits on the grass and dirt and doesn’t move when I’m using it.
Good stuff Marty!!
Thank you Sir! Thanks for watching.
Original thread on weld table is 10mm x 1.5. Can buy set of 4 heavy duty swivel/locking casters for $35 with shipping. I was planning on doing it like you but found the right thread and ordered.
You’re right that makes it mush easier to use. You don’t have to bring heavy items to the table; you roll the table to the heavy items! Big saver on my back.
Great job.
I appreciate that very much. I plan on getting another table and this will help save me some time. Thanks again and thanks for watching.
