Awesome! You will like it :)
Excellent channel! Thanks for sharing some of your creations, talents, and techniques!
Thanks for your time man!
Nice job buddy!
Very very cool. I bought a bucket and heater yesterday and I’m receiving a beaver head from a trapper to clean up. This could become a hobby real quick. Thanks for all the info.
Saweeet! Let me know if anything comes up you need help with :)
What are the laws for having skulls? Do I need a license for a deer head if someone gives one to me? I was going to ask some of the deer processors if I could have some heads.
Each state is different so i would look it up on your local Dept of Game and Fish. But generally speaking you just need the hunters information who harvested the deer. Deff check your local laws though.
Old to new vids are amazing haha
Thanks Matthew!
I,m so glad and very enjoy see your nice video...thank for share...that was amazing ..well done!
Thanks Yuses! I appreciate the comment :)

Thanks Bob! I appreciate that :) Did you see one of the more recent deer I did? Here it is ua-cam.com/video/ZpkU0KTgDks/v-deo.html
Amazing work, and a clear example how ancient decorative methods and techniques are being resuscitated by modern day artisans like Hunter.
Thanks for sharing Man!
AAR
PS: For what you paid for that double shot, you can get yourself a pound of Cafe Bustelo, Pilon, or La Llave Cuban coffee, and make as much stain as you want.
PPS: Subscribed!
Thanks Rasch! Ya haha, I have actually had a lot of success using instant coffee as well for the stain.
Sick deserves so much more respect
Thanks man!
Amazing work !!
Thanks Jeff!
That's just awesome now I got to up my game .
Haha thanks man!
how do you apply the stencil? what are you useing. thanks for the help.
Fantastic work! I've etched with a rotary tool but don't have a lot of experience carving with one.
Thanks Christopher! You do some might fine work yourself! Maybe skull carving can be part of your branching out ;)
Thank you sir! I am looking to do pyrography on animal skulls.
That one was brilliant.
Thanks Mikie!
Awesome job!
Thanks Rick!
Hunter Richardson You're welcome
Nice job.
Thanks!
What did u use to make the pattern transfer ???
This is really cool and as I love to draw and craft this looks like something I'd love to do, too! It will be hard to get skulls though..
Hey Haley! Where do you live? I am knee deep in a how to video on where to get skulls locally if you are interested. It comes out in a few weeks so feel free to subscribe so you see when it comes out. Or just shoot me a message and I can fill you in on the details!
US Skull Hunter Oh hey, that sounds really cool, thank you! I'm from germany.
So much freedom....
Great job! That looks awesome, hope it brings in plenty of work for you. Question, do you only use dremel burs?
Thanks Paul! I use a lot of other burrs in addition to the ones Dremel sells. Here are a few of them www.usskullhunter.com/skull-carving-burrs-what-you-need-to-take-your-skull-carving-to-the-next-level
Skills and creativity. You are amazing friend. Natural dyes....think soy sauce(brown/black) and turmeric (yellow/goldenrod). Btw, just found this vid on my travels. Finishing up a couple of knife projects...all from scrap. I'll drop you a pic on FB. Next, gonna attempt carving a rabbit skull. Forgot I had it. Rabbit killed by a snake. Snake killed by me (caught in the act). Snake and Rabbit Stir fry is pretty good.
Haha that's awesome about the snake/rabbit. I will have to give soy sauce a try!
Hi, I'm a total amateur, just starting out , I have tons of skulls around as we are guide outfitters. So, my question is , could you please please put a list of which bits you are using? I am finding that the hardest thing to figure out. I have tons of them, carbide, diamond, silicone.. But not sure what is best. And do you sand down the skull before you carve? You are awesome. Thank you so much, Julie
Thanks for watching! I will get that list out asap! Can't wait to see what you got to work with :)
Hey! I am getting into this with my mom and my sister, they are both artists from Montana and can get skulls from all the local farmers, but I live in az and its not as easy for me to find. Do you have any helpful tips on where to get your skulls from?? Your art is crazy beautiful.
Hey Rose! (sorry for the late reply) That's awesome! If anything comes up that you need help with just let me know! Yes, take a look at this list as should help you out :) usskullhunter.com/find-animal-skulls-locally-skull-carving-free/
Are you able to sand/grind off areas of coffee where you didn’t want it or did you have to be really careful where you added it? I know wood stain really soaks in.
Yes, sanding/grinding odd areas makes them lighter. Works just fine
Looks awesome. How are you transferring the pattern onto the skull? Thanks.
Hey Jamie, thanks! Here is how I do it ua-cam.com/video/rghXUZ9GbTE/v-deo.html
I hope you wear some eye protection and have decent extraction too!
Amazing work.
I do now yes. I use eye, ear, and a respirator :)
Good. We need to keep you healthy so that you can have MANY more years creating these incredible pieces
Awesome job. I just got a dremil too and I have a buddy who just shot his first buck so I'm going to do a carving for him free of charge. Probably won't go as big as you did but who knows? Great work!
That's great Casey! Let me know how it goes for sure :)
Warrenton, VA?? That's where I'm located! I wonder which shop has this amazing art piece :)
Haha finally a local! It hung in Clark Brothers gun shop for about a year :) Great animation stuff by the way!
I have used coffee grounds can stain bone and antler. have you ever found grounds useful for staining something that has been carved vs brewed coffee?
Hey Joanna! Yes, you can stain similar to how you would use walnut husk to stain skulls including carved skulls.
how do you print and put a design on?
wow you are super cool
Haha thanks Jean :)
That s awesome planning on getting dremal and just so happens I have a skull that I can try it on
Sweeeeeet! Let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching Corbin :)
Hola desde México. Que utilizas para tallar? Brocas de diamante? Y sabrás cómo se llama la extencion que tiene tu Dremel? Voy a realizar también unos tallados pero en cráneo de toro. Mil gracias. Por cierto te quedó fantástico el tuyo!!!
Hey Ivan! Take a look at this list of burrs and let me know if it helps www.usskullhunter.com/learn-skull-carving
Hi this work looks realy grate, i will try in my channel something like this but with roe deer. Tell me how long this take in real time to carved skull like this ?
Sweet, ya man you have a great channel! It took probably 8 hours in total. If you need any help just shoot me a message on FB or Instagram. I subscribed to your channel so I am looking forward to see what's ahead :)
Thanks :) I was in Your FB but there i cant add You to friends dont know why ? Will be good if we have contact. I see Your all movies many grate ideas for hunters projects. Keep like that my friend Cheers :)
hey man, love the videos. just started carving. whats the best way to transfer the stencil to the bone? thanks :)
Hey that's great! I either just pencil draw it on or if I can I will do a design transfer like this usskullhunter.com/transfer-design-onto-skull/ Let me know if anything comes up you might need help with!
Thats awesome man. I freehanded my first one. its turning out pretty good. I know I'll have to use a pattern transfer for the more tech stuff... thanks man! Keep up the awesomeness.
Do you glue in the teeth to keep them in place? Also, I like your wedding ring, is it made from bone?
I do glue in the teeth. Lost a tooth of a clients skull and had to repair it so I do glue them now. The ring is Qalo silicone. Working on making some antler rings though :)
My son has a wooden wedding ring with silver inset. He also wears a silicone ring on the job, I should have recognized what it was, even though it is a different color.
hello I am using google translate, on all your videos you can see the drawing directly to be engraved. but how do I transfer a design to it for engraving please. that would help me enormously because I would like to make a mandala.
damn good work could you put a beautiful Indian design on a deer skull 😁
Yep! I did one partial Indian skull for a customer here facebook.com/pg/usskullhunter/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1835215943426894
Can you tell me what you're using to transfer your design?
Hey Berry! Sure thing, just take a look at this how-to article I made on how I do it usskullhunter.com/transfer-design-onto-skull/
WOW
that is so dope
Thanks man :)
Hunter Richardson is there anyway I can buy one? or send you a skull?
Ya man. I cant sell deer skulls but if there is something else you would like or you can send me whatever skull and I can carve it for you. Send me a message on Instagram and we can work something out @usskullhunter or just send me a message info@usskullhunter.com.
Hunter Richardson alright man
What’s the aftermarket tool you used?
Hey Claudine! To be honest I do not remember where I got that extension. It ended up burning up and I just went with the Dremel brand which has lasted since then :)
How do you transfer the design to the skull?
Here you go ua-cam.com/video/rghXUZ9GbTE/v-deo.htmlsi=QJxNUuR8i9DzzKP-
What kind of Dremel do you recommend?
Hey! I recommend the Dremel 4000.
What kind of bit do you use?
Hey Stanley! Take a look at the list of bits I use here www.usskullhunter.com/learn-skull-carving
I don’t know maybe you can help me with this? On eBay they sell carved deer horn. It’s pretty elaborate and well done. They sell they are cheap. But there from Indonesia. It hard to believe there hand carved at that price.is there a way there using a machine and mass producing them?
Hey Jason! Yes, believe it on not they are hand carved. It's just a difference in their economics. I have specifically talked with carvers from Indonesia and they say they make good money selling at those prices. It's fair prices for them but obviously it seems super cheap to us.
Thank you !!’
what you sell something like this for
Hey Jake sorry for the late reply. I only carve deer skulls for people and do not sell the actual deer skull. I usually charge $385 to carve a deer skull.
ANY coffee would be better than Starbucks.
It dont smell horrible when you carve it? i try a deer horn and it smell horrible.
Not at all, I wear a respirator for the dust, but not the smell. If your bits are worn out and it starts burn than it will smell :)
