  • I'm not sure if I'm on an island over here but I've been seeing ads for Skull Bliss all over my Facebook, Instagram and recently UA-cam feeds. Their beautifully carved skulls instantly caught my attention and this became a "must have" art piece for my home office. Unfortunately my order arrived severely damaged and in this video I not only go over the details on how Skull Bliss poorly handled my damaged order but I also walk you through the process I used to fix my broken skull.     Watched your review after ordering mine and super grateful for your honesty here because it’s clear this was a reason they switched to wood boxes from the awareness you brought, which I don’t think everyone commenting that theirs came in fine realizes. 🙏🙏

    I’ve been lurking on their site and I am almost ready to pull the trigger … this video has really made me pause and rethink my purchase. I’m so very sorry your purchase from Skull Bliss was so disastrous and their customer service so horrible poor.

    I just got my skull today. It came in a wooden crate and was perfect. Most beautiful piece ever! Maybe they used to ship in a cardboard box which I would find crazy considering how far it has to travel and the many hands that inspect it (goes through customs). I absolutely love mine!

    i really think they improved their shipping since your sad experience. Just received yesterday my Ram skull... and i felt like an Archeologist or a Museum Curator!
    First, the craftsmanship and the beauty of the piece is stunning. Second, it came in a WOOD CRATE, nested in multiple layers of bubble wrap, and this attentive dedication to preserve this artistic piece made me feel like if i was receiving a precious artifact, something irreplaceable and unique.... and frankly, IT IS! I wish i could post an image to add to this as it is really impressive.
    VERY happy with the whole process and the quality of this amazing art piece!

      Glad to hear they improved the packaging. That and their return policy was my main issues with them. I love the craftsmanship too but unfortunately my experience will keep my from buying from them again.

    I also received a damaged piece but in a wooden crate, this was on an 800$ piece so I accepted to receive a new one for the shipping cost. Worked our great in the end, glad that offer was an option. The second one had no issue and I got to keep the old one to try and fix it someday.

    I wish I would have seen this video before I bought my skull. I bought a $400 skull and was packaged in bubble wrap and was damaged upon arrival. I was able to fix the damage, but when I tried to mount the horns, they didn't fit. I proceeded to file down the nubs for hours to get the horns to fit. While doing this, I had to be very careful not to damage the skull further. A huge pain.

    I'm super glad you put up a video of your experience. They should have replaced this with no charge to you. I will not purchase from a company that treats customers this way.

    I’ve been wanting a skull for a while now! Even messaged the company to see if there was any first responder discount which they don’t offer. But after watching this video, I’m happy I didn’t waste my time. Thanks for the video and I’m sorry you had to suffer for my to know this information.

    Dang I’ve been debating on buying a ram skull but had concerns about arriving damaged :(

      Sorry for the bad news on this one. What I didn't show on this video is the amount of work it took to attach the horns since the plaster plugs were oversized.

      @@CigarArtistry hey, so an update, after a few more back and forth, and me basically asking for a full refund and for them to ship their own skull back (I also made a claim through pay pal since I bought it using PayPal) they are sending me a new skull as a replacement and having me keep the old one. Will see how the new one arrives.

    Just received my XL Longhorn Boho Grey skull today, in perfect condition. I will say the process and shipping was a complete headache. I ordered the skull back in June and just received, about 3 months later. They were good at constant communication back and forth with emails, so support was good company side, however delays on backorders, and first skull was broken before being shipped out delayed my purchase. Quite a bit had to paid in customs (Shipped to Canada), BUT, I will say the final product is beautiful and my wife and I couldnt be happier. Overall 80" from tip to tip when horns are on skull. No damage anywhere, great carving and horns are incredible quality.
    Was shipped in thin wooden box with tons of bubble wrap, so more solid packaging since this video. Box had damage on outside and was inspected at border, so first looks of outside of box were concerning, but upon opening they took good care in packing tight and wrapped up well. Its a pricey purchase, and was a headache with the time of purchase to receiving, but worth it in the end. Its going to be quite the wall piece once hung.

    in future CA glue and activator is your best option. your looking at a 5 to 10 sec set

      The skulls are beautiful and I believe they have addressed their shipping issues. However, all that being said I'll never do business with them since they did not honor their original guarantee.

    CA glue and activator will set in 5- 10 secs. or if you need to fill you can use CA glue and baking soda. the baking soda fills and acts as and activator you can build up layers very easy

    Good thing I saw this. Was just considering if I was going to get one. But have you tried using Loctite superglue? It dries super fast and holds really well.

      No, I didn't try that but the epoxy works very well. Just messy to work with.

      I actually do have some Apoxi sculpt in white. My thinking was since I had to fuse parts together I used the JB Weld. Now I'm curious to see how Apoxie would have worked.

    I had a similar experience, the product came damaged and they wanted me to pay an extra $100 but the website clearly mentions that they will take full responsibility and send a new one or a full refund, so I told them that and I did got a new one back without me paying anything extra but the only problem is that they send me a smaller skull than what I had originally order and since all these are around the same price I didn’t bother to contacting them again.
    The product are nice but it’s not worth the hassle.

    I, too, received a Skull about 3 years ago. Mine had turquoise missing, and they suggested the same that I could go to an art store and fix it myself, and they'd send me $15.00. Granted, the damage yours had is very extensive, and I would of demanded a full refund! That why I'll never buy from them again! They need a better return policy or insure their shipping process!

    I had the same issue just 2 weeks ago. The skull arrived damaged with a piece broken off and the skull cracked in 3 places on the top. There was no fragile label at all shockingly, thin bubble wrap and they never responded to my emails at all. Mine was the brownish cow skull (antique sun) what do you suggest using to repair this one due to the color difference?

      J-B Weld makes a few different color variations for their putty. I use to get it in white but I believe there is also a brown version. You still may need to paint which is what I originally was planning to do. The other option would be a clear epoxy but you would need to be able to brace the pieces together for a few hours while it dries. Hope it all works out for you and sorry to hear you had the same experience as me.

    Their website says, and I quote, "In the case that something does arrive broken we take full responsibility and offer either a full refund or we could reship a brand new skull." So I would throw that in their face. And with how much money these things cost, if that doesn't work, I'd start a claim with the Better Business Bureau.

      I ended up taking my losses and just fixing this one myself. Hopefully my experience with this video will give others a good warning about this company.

    Should have researched before buying from them! Got my package today and it was broken at the horn and above the eye. They offered me the same discount which is ridiculous. Even when I wanted a refund. This video is great btw

      Ukir Bali is a other company. They offered a free replacement if the first one arrived broken. Was not needed though because it was packed very well.

    Thanks for the review. I was looking to buy one but after watching this their customer service seems like crap and if a company can’t even assure your item is packaged properly then that says a lot about their company and what think about their customers.Thats a deal breaker.       Be sure to wear a good mask - inhaling bone dust from carving can be really unhealthy...

    Superglue + baking soda would have really worked well, it just dries like a bone if done correctly.

      Strength wise, nothing beats jb weld. Look at tests found here on youtube. Its not even a close comparison.

      Their website says that but getting them to honor their guarantee is a different story. I went back and forth with them by the time I figured I would just cut my losses.

    Bought a skull lamp from skull bliss. It broke really easy.. I thought it was hand carved out of a real animal skull. Mine was made of plastic. Probably made in a mould. At THAT price its very disapointing..

      I can then offer you one of the following options:
      1. I can offer you a 25% refund on the skull you received, and then perhaps you can just take it to a taxidermist and get it tweaked to your satisfaction.
      2. Or, you are welcome to return it, as per our Return Policy, and as soon as the package is back with us, we can send you a replacement. Please note we are located in Bali, Indonesia.
      Let us know which one you prefer and we will proceed accordingly.

      You're paying for the life of the beast... it's coming from a land where the animal lived a full life of freedom. When you pay the outrageous price, you're literally paying for the glory of the life of the skull. Ummm, the animal was roaming the streets of India. Happy,free and worshipped.     Looks like they are trying DAMAGE CONTROL by posting they are in the midst of fixing the issue However it still seems as if they are say one thing and doing another. Thanks for saving me the hassle and loss of hard earned money👎
