- March 2014 visit to the bone carving village where Ukir Bali works with local artists to offer customers beautiful, intircate, and unique art in the form of carved bones. Rest assured that animals here in Indonesia would never be killed for the sole purpose of obtaining it's bones for art. These animals are far too valuable for farm work and to feed Indonesian people. Custom and pre-designed cow, water buffalo (kerbau), pig, wild boar, and horse skull carvings. Artists also carve into cow leg bone, coconuts, marlin/swordfish beak (long nose bone). In this video the artist and I created a new design of ogoh-ogoh (Balinese Hindu creature during the holiday Nyepi) into a cow skull. See more designs and discuss customs orders at: / ukirbalicarving and IG #UKIRBALI
