Best way to patch a hole in asphalt driveway - Aquaphalt

- I recently had a big area of my new asphalt driveway get dissolved by a large gasoline leak. After cutting out the area contaminated by gasoline, I was left with a large hole that needed patching. In this video I show how to use Aquaphalt to patch an asphalt driveway hole, whether it's caused by a gasoline leak or something else.
Aquaphalt is a water-activated asphalt patch material that cures very fast, much better than "cold patch". The number (Aquaphalt 4.0, 6.0, etc) refers to the size of the gravel grains in the material (4.0 is smaller for small patches, 6.0 is medium for larger patches).
It's important that you cut out the area you are patching so that there are vertical walls on all 4 sides of the hole. This will allow your patch material to get well compacted and last the longest. - Навчання та стиль
That came out real nice 👍
Great video!
Would have liked to see more of the cutting/removal process lol 2nd part of the video no questions lol
GREAT VIDEO!!!
Good job. What blade did you use with the grinder?
Nice! Thanks for sharing! What sealer did you use?
thank you, great video, your buddy parks on a street from now on right?
Haha yep!
It's been 10 months, how has this held up? Good video thanks.
No issues! We sealed over the whole driveway
@@BigBossBilly still ok ?
How has the Color’s meshed? Does it look more uniform now that it’s been some time or can you still tell that there was a patch done there?
A couple questions, why did you use a bucket of water and then a hose for the rest? Then when you mention 2.0 did you mean 6.0 like the product says?
because there was only a finite amount of water in that bucket and realized he should probably put more water
When I got asphaltedone in my driveway the asphalt company boss told me to spray my asphalt with water for a week to harden it. Lucky for me it rained almost everyday so I did not need to use the hose... I had this done about 8 years ago and it still looks brand new ! Of course I have to seal it every 2 years but still no cracks or nothing.
Do you live in an area that gets snow and freezing temps?
@@simd510 yes... I live in Northern Quebec Canada along the St-Lawrence river... It gets really nasty here
@@doobyboy21 wow thats impressive that it still looks new after 8 years in harsh weather
@@doobyboy21 what sealer do you use?
@@simd510 what ever is on special at Canadian Tires (Harbor Freight for the US) Nothing fancy at least as it gets the job done... And we use a roller on a stick to apply it... We mix it for almost 5 minutes before applying... We seal it every 2 years
What do you do with the pieces of asphalt that you removed? If you dispose of them, how?
Can't you put it in garbage bag to land fill?
If I set a solid base could I widen my driveway with this ?
One bucket doesn't get you very far and it's expensive and you would need a lot of buckets, it might work but in my opinion you would be better to hire professionals to do the job.
It's really expensive, I'm not sure I would try It was at least $50 for a bucket. Plus you would want to frame out the expansion with vertical wood so that you could really tamp it down. Even then I'd be worried the outside edge would crumble once you removed the frame.
That happens when you don’t sealed your driveway. I resurfaced my driveway about 3 inches on top of my old one back in 2020 and I had sealed 3 times. No problem with oil or gasoline
does it ever blend?
No. But sealer can be applied to entire driveway which should help a lot
FYI. Future reference. Contrary to popular opinion, cat litter doesn’t absorb anything
The question is....are you still friends???😂
For some reason I forgave him!
Lol
