  • After years of trying to find walleye and sauger on Big Horn Lake I was finally able to get into a couple. Hopefully this is the beginning of figuring out this fishery on my own.

Impromptu fishing trips are the best kind! Geology lessons from the Prospector is quality entertainment! You keep making these and I'll keep watching!

Thanks Brandon! Have your fly rod ready. I am probably heading your way around the first week of November and need some time on the water with you guys. Thanks for all your support and for being you!

Fish AND geology! Fun stuff Joe. And yes, most "red bed" formations like the Chugwater are formed above sea level where the sediments are exposed to the air which oxidizes the iron in the sediments. The Chugwater aften has areas demonstrating the river systems that deposited the sediments, but it was likely a pretty arid/dry environment. OK...im done geeking out....thanks for the video.

I sure appreciate you having my back on the geology side of things. Now I need to get you to show me how to catch a fish! Sounds like the chug water was formed, possibly during Pangaea. It was a very arid time with lots of monsoons, which explains, a lot of the bentonite and crystal formations in the area.
Thanks for your help and I am looking forward to watching you catch lots of fish this ice season.

Awesome video and fish! Tried some fishing in a creek up in the bighorns and ended up with more sticks in my shoes than fish 😂. Fishing has been tough this year, either you get skunked or you risked getting struck by lightning here 😂

That’s for sure, buddy! A couple years ago I was fishing a creek in the sunlight basin and ended up with poison ivy all over my legs because it was floating in the water! Only in Wyoming! Life is good.

Pretty soon will have Nike swooshes on our fishing rods! I guess we’ve just got to draw a line somewhere with all those woke companies. Might even have the highway patrol checking fishing licenses before too long. 😂 Wouldn’t the world be better if people just stayed in their own lanes and didn’t try to backseat drive everybody else’s lives.

As I understand them that was a huge sauger

It definitely wasn’t a bad one. I’ve caught some bigger ones through the ice, but any fish is great!
