Yesterday was an interesting visit to Manchester, my first evening visit here. As the sun was going down, some emergency repairs were required for Runway 23R which prompted its closure. This meant that Runway 23L, the southerly runway was the sole runway for landings and take offs. This Ryanair 737 however didn't get far taking off.
A definite surprise as I saw puffs of smoke from the Starboard main gear! Shortly after the aircraft prompted a quick stop on the runway. The aircraft, EI-EKX then returned to stand, and the flight FR4052 was re-operated by EI-EFY and departed for Faro just over 2 hours later.
I was told that the aircraft aborted due to a windshear warning, at first sight it looked like a Tyre burst but I may well of been wrong. Either way it was certainly an interesting sight, probably not for the passengers and crew though.

When she texts “I’m home alone” when you about to take off
Olly Oooo 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂you just made my day better
Lmao
Looooolllll
But then you can just fly to her house
😂😂😂😂😂
One of the passengers refused to pay the extra fee for being alive.
John K. 😂😂😂😂😂
Ahahah brilliant
John K. You win! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Passengers: These seats are horrible, what a bad airline..
Captain: You know what, you can just walk
Idiot.
Stan Hoppe 🤣🤣🤣
Bet you e never even flown in a plane.
@@iantaylor817 ... Try write correctly idiot .
@@iantaylor817 ... I travel far to often by plane and hate it hence why I think plane spotters are simply sad and weird just like train spotters or truck spotters all weird .
Most plane spotters haven't flown before hence why they stand and watch others doing it .
the captain realized he was taking off ONTIME. cant have that.
Actually, Ryanair is the most punctual airline in the world so I don't get your point bro
Smoothest landing ever done by Ryan Air
Should have been on the flt this week into portugal very heavy landing and hard braking
@@cocoo6760 It needs to be. Because Faro's runway is short.
@@keirapaterson4358 Why Faro? there are more than 1 airport in Portugal.. Besides Madiera and Azores are much more challenging, not to mention most traffic lands in Lisboa anyways
The cabin crew forgot the lottery cards!
BM Steve15 lol
sure!
Darn, or maybe they forgot the mini model planes
Lol
BM Steve15 that comment is fu*king brutal 😂😂👌
It was a manchester to Manchester flight, on sale
Thanks for that. 👍
That's the cheapest holiday ever. Back so soon.
Ryanair probably forgot the captain
Serous when you first want to comment you dont have anything less funny to say ???
😂😂😂😂
No it was a technical issue I think
@@sveinivargundersen6807 It was actually funny tho
😂😂🤣🤣
Ryanair charge extra for 2 take offs..
James Mac Coisteala 😂😂😂 you make my day
🤣
No but Ryanair lose money when this happens..
Nice 1
Haha they will charge u double for your seats 🤣🤣🤣
They realised that someone brought a water bottle onto the plane from their home
Typical, they land nowhere near the intended destination. The passengers now have a 7h bus trip. They call this airport 'Manchester-Brussels'
no
Tomas Swift-Metcalfe you definitely have seen ‘come fly with me’ before
😂
The pilot realised he left his phone at home unlocked
🤣
Oh god not my Asia porn
@@aduptuniform2647 haha😂😂😂
@JBL Nexus well shit, I watch too much porn then nah it cause I didn’t no how to spell hentai but now I do
@JBL Nexus lol that was a joke, it’s ok xD
“We’ve now arrived at Manchester Malaga airport. Please make your way to the coaches for the short journey to your final destination. Thank you for flying Ryanair.”

Great reaction from pilots ! This video demonstrates how good is the aircraft brakes . Amazing footage Casey !
That was just about to take off as well ,amazing brakes
Clearly it hadn’t reach V1. Such a normal thing!
Alec Daniel man V1 speed means the maximum speed when pilots can decide to reject takeoff. V1 is calculated before takeoff from many factors (runway length, surface condition, wind, aircraft weight etc) and it’s value use to be way over 100 mph, typically about 150 mph (btw we use knots as units for speed)
Alec Daniel man it’s calculated, it’s such a normal thing. Pilots before take-off or even before getting on the plane calculate how many meters they have to stop the plane safely before reaching V1 of course. It’s not a magical event, it’s all designed by mechanical and engineers. Pilots saw a malfunction and they decided to abort the take-off because they were in the best position to do it. If they had reach V1, they would have rotate and climb. This shouldn’t be a common event because plane should take-off without any problems, but when something happens there are the right precautions.
@@carlottasall1583 only thing in the vdo I am curious about is that they did not go to idle from reverse thrust even when the aircraft was already fully stopped (it should be done at speed > 60 knots because of FOD), mistake maybe?
And the chilling part is that apparently FR4052 is still taxing around the airport, you can see it every night after midnight.
most underrated comment xD
Doing pirouettes on the runway when it gets bored and thinks no one is looking.
I take that flight on holiday my plane departed later that day
Pilot forgot his dinner and couldn’t afford the onboard prices !!!!!
LOL
THATS TRUE ACTUALLY ,THEY DO HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR FOOD AND DRINKS. !!!
Brit By name never ?
😂
Brutal
The wing flex as he releases the brakes after stopping goodness
Best part in the video
It’s all the energy dissipating through the wings
The whole aircraft bounces, take the APU exhaust as a reference point.
The nose strut compresses on braking and then rebounds as the aircraft stops, causing the bouncing.
There are lots of fuel in wings at take off ,so they are heavier
My first job after graduation was on aircraft brake development. This was an RTO, a rejected take off. It’s the most severe test of the brakes. They must be capable of stopping the aircraft at max speed and max weight with the brakes already hot and fully worn. It doesn’t matter what happens to the brakes, they can catch fire and fall apart as long as they stop the aircraft.
We all feel amazing now that you shared that boring information.
Damien Oleary Why comment something negative? If you don’t like what he has to say don’t bother responding. You just learned something you didn’t know so be a bit nicer👍🏻
It's very interesting information actually

777*😂😂😂 xd
Pierfrancesco Zaccagnini it’s a 787
Yes yes you ste right. It looks to me a 777 beacuse i’ve flashed the triple wheel in the central gear
Pierfrancesco Zaccagnini Just from the nose you can tell it's a 787. There's no need to check the landing gear
Shows the power and importance of RTO, reject take off brake setting.
Yep.
Are you an aspiring pilot Habibi?

Not really, but interested in aviation failures and incidents
I am a Mech. Engineer.
This is why I always tighten my lap belt to the point of discomfort before takeoff. A rejected takeoff hurts otherwise!
I began to do the same after watching vids like this.
Can't possibly be Manchester, the weather is too good...
Great video Casey you don't get catches like this often. Keep up the great work.
Now this is something you don't see every day. Brilliant catch Casey, there aren't many of us who would be filming it.
Well done, thanks for sharing.
Liked 👍 ✈️
Love how the wings were flapping after the rejected take -off. "But I want to fly!😭🛫
Brilliant Casey, thank you very much
Pretty impressive how quickly they came to a halt. Great airmanship for a prompt, safe stop.
Amazing catch. One of the better rejected takeoffs i have seen to date. I agree, it looks like there was something happening at tge right gear.
Fantastic shots at Manchester Airport mate
Nice shot, thanks for sharing!
Brilliant video my friend! I've always wanted to experience one of these... Huge like from me! Keep up the wonderful work--I've subscribed as well :)
“Sit back, relax and enjoy your fl- *YOU WISH!* ”
When the passengers are still in the terminal.
Passsngers in the back were bickering, and the pilot said "I swear to God, I will turn this plane around!"
Fantastic capture and a high quality video.
My guess is that the smoke from the starboard main gear is the result of the emergency braking rather than a burst tyre.
Thanks for sharing.
When the low fuel alarms don’t go off at takeoff:
**Ryanair pilot: “Something’s Wrong”**
This is real truth lol
Thanks for sharing with us!
Hell, heads would be slamming into the seats in front! Serious hit the brakes moment. Great vid
Great work, crew! A good, hard stop all in full control.
This gives me a great feeling of excitement! amazing! Great footage too!!
RyanAir, winds 240 at 10 knots, 23L, cleared for take off.
Copy! *powers up engines for take off*
FO: V1
Captain: V1
First Officer: Hey, dammit, I forgot my cellphone in the break room
Captain: Ok, you wanna go back and get it?
FO: That'd be great, if you dont mind, thanks.
*Slams on breaks*
I did not know planes can do a faultless u-turn!
🤣
Me either
Probably used the left engine to turn faster
Jack Simpson - They lock the brakes on one main gear.
You're having Mutations ☠️
awesome catch man!
Quick decision by Captain, thanks for the video Casey
When the pilot gets told that Ryanair had 1 positive review recently.
Awesome video, interesting catch.
Ooooffff! Great video 😃
One of the few (the only?) airlines with a 100% safety record! At any time, 50% of the airliners in the air over Europe are Ryanair - that airline does more for Europeans than the EU.
Truth. preach!
Tell me about it! I'm from Spain and thanks to RY i can make several nice trips a year during low season :)
Our national airline (Iberia) it's like FIVE times the price per flight!
Thanks to Ryanair , i can go to Gran Canaria 4 times a year ( from Holland ) and always below €150,- for a 2 way ticket !!! ( we have a apartment in Maspalomas )
Ryanair is just awesome ! Ryanair rules !
George Reynolds Well, it depends on how you interprete safety. I remember the incident in Valencia where 3 Ryanair machines in the same time (partly got diverted) needed to declare a fuel emergency. And there were many more incidents. But yes, regarding crashes, they have pretty good statistics.
@@JustADuck In Aviation, low fuel is a priority landing. An emergency generally requires emergency services. Even an engine failure is not an emergency if the plane can land normally.
It always seems routine but of course as far as aircrew are concerned there should never be complacency.
Great airmanship from them (even if they were on 'the deck' ) and another great video.
Thank you.
Wait they turned back for more priority hand luggage..so they can make even more money
you have them mixed up that's british airways! www.travelsupermarket.com/en-gb/blog/travel-advice/hand-luggage-tips/
I think the flames you see from the tyres are the brakes. The aircraft went from like 150mph to a complete stop in less than 7 seconds.
Wow! Impressive stop with all the smoke! Great video and very rare! Liked! Greetz
When you want to take off but suddenly you're on strike
The 737 has a tight turning circle. They perform this on a regular basis at London Southend airport prior to take off on the North Easterly runway.
Announcement: empty seat's ticket was bought
Ryan Air: Here I come
Very interesting video. Huge like. 👍
amazing video and great airport
When you suddenly realise you haven't been trained to fly a plane
Big brown nipplez 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice catch!
Great spotting!
Well done captain
At Ryanair the first officer has to pay extra if he wants to sit next to the pilot 😉
Captain: " damn!!! We forgot the cabin crew..!!!" ...BRAKES🤬🤬🤬
Walyd D We forgot the passengers. ....BRAKES😱😱😱
Great video it definitely looks like a tyre burst. That puff of air.
i think that the smoke were the brakes, nice one casey :-)
They forgot to load their signature Ryanair lasagnes. Can’t deprive 160 odd people of a Ryanair lasagne.
I'm always impressedby how the 737 can turn on a dime. I sometimes see this at Xilinhot airport after landing, as the runway there has no separate taxi-ways.
Imagine everyone inside slammed against the seat in front when the plane braked that hard
Ryan air forgot to make the passengers pay for another takeoff
The flight suffered a catastrophic failure before take off.. Ryanair forgot to charge everyone for the boarding music
The smoke looks like brake dust or hot pads due to the heavy braking.
My favorite part of flying Ryanair is the free upgrade to first class when the captain lands and all of the passengers are launched full force through the air and into the first class cabin
Ryanair back at it again
Awesome capture! May I feature this rejected takeoff in one of my next episodes? Of course with a link back to your original video. Cheers!
Good video very close to v1 I'd say, good job by the pilots
Smoothest Ryanair stop ever
Ryanair forgot the passengers 😂
Lmao 😂😂
Wow!!! It turns so easily would never have guessed
My eldest son did this amazing job ✈
# superproudmom 🥰
Amazing breaks
I would love to know what kit you used to get such good results. Asked and answered in Casey’s channel.
When the comment section is more interesting and funnier than the actual video, you guys are hilarious LOL 😂
Realised that someone snuck a cabin back bigger that 30 cm onboard.
Wow, that's amazing, just down loaded it to show my friends
Why download?
Oops!Oh dear.What happened there?Great footage though😎👍!
Great job
This happened to us last year on Ryan Air. The noose of the plane went up then it was down & the breaks went on. We were holding onto the seat in front to stop going into it. It looked like we were running out of runway. The captain said the light to the cargo door came on as we were taken off.
They realised someone didn’t set their device to airplane mode
I think the smoke is due to the tires locking up momentarily before the ABS kicked in, and yes, aircraft do have ABS.
Aircraft have had ABS since the 60s or 70s I think. And cars got ABS much later.
I wonder if they played the bugle. " You have arrived on yet another on time Ryanair flight..."
Considering the smoke doing the same effect as it would on touchdown, I would guess its the autobrakes going straight to max and locking up for half a second as they engage.
Yeah.. Wouldn't be an instant reaction to a burst tyre either.
*”HOLD ON! We forgot the captain!”*
Flight attendant: We are going to Disneyland..
Pilot: Noooo, I don't wanna go.. So many kids. 😂

Can you do the planespotting at east Midlands Airport in 2019 please? 🙏🏻
@@matthewplanespotting It's a dangerous game when a UA-camr starts allowing one's hobby to control one's life
What is the smoke from/near the starboard main gear at 0:38? Is that a blown tyre or some runway contamination? The reason for the RTO? If so, the crew had awesomely quick reflexes.
Looks like some sort of spark/surge doesn’t it 🤔
At 37 or 38 secs into the video, there is a puff of smoke from the right side undercarriage prior to braking.
nice capture what was the reason? any idea?
Tyre didn’t burst, the puff of smoke came out of the wheel when he had the engines already in reverse and the air brakes up.
Oops, now you gotta pay that rejected takeoff fee
The airport they were taking off from was also the nearest Ryanair could get to their holiday destination.
