Unfortunately the customer had some financial issues and we were unable to progress with his build until last week - now that we received the final parts I believe you should see new videos coming up soon 👍
Yes, these pistons will force YOU to balance the crankshaft. Because the weight of the standard connecting rod-piston components differs from the weight of the Taiwanese ones. Crankshaft balancing is MANDATORY.
Hi, that’s great ! Keep me updated on the progress. Also ensure to measure up all the sizes and clearances as there could be a variance on the rods and rings
@@dnl35projects thank you so much, will do! Have been abs scowering the web for information. It looks like measuring everything out, ensuring the proper clearances, and balancing it properly is the best way to go even with the “cheaper” internals
Keep up the good work. These videos really helped me with my n63 rebuild. A wire harness assembly video would really be helpful. I’m currently stuck on that 🥲
Hi, I just got the block back from the machine shop and the sleeves are in however the car owner is a bit tight with money so it should be another month or so until he buys the remaining bits and I can assemble this engine.
Great review bud, I'm interested in these rods and pistons from KingTec Racings and seriously wanting to pull the trigger to buy them already for my Megane 225 RS, Please update us on the what the machine shop says about the quality and how they running in the car.
Hi, I’ve got the crank back and the guys doing the balancing were pretty impressed with the quality of pistons/rods given the price we paid for them - I should be getting the block back from the machine shop next week and will start the rebuild - will definitely make an update video once the car is running and tunned.
Hi, i should be getting that engine back and start the rebuild in a week or two - Will definitely make an update video once the engine is up and running
Great video series, will be watching with intrest as i would like an F13 M6 . Understand everyone has a budget but this doesn't seem a particularly good idea. Mainly because its an unknown, and having an unknown is not really worth the risk.
@@dnl35projects lol I can imagine, still you have highlighted the risks I just hope all your hard work is not undone. I think for exhausts, charge coolers & intake kits then going this route is a none issue . But proper engine components are a tricky one. No doubt they are better than stock, but I don't know how confident you could be when you start to lean on them which it sounds like the owner may do .
Nice video , looking forward to the next essential one. I've read some positive stuff about a guy with an M3 E92 who replaced his rod bearings with a custom set of "ACL Trimetal" and he stated that these basically "solve" the rod bearing issue. Another thing - what would you recommend if I'm replacing the rod bearings on a S63 should I replace the main bearings as well ?
You’re absolutely right ! Rod and main bearings are preventive maintenance in some of these high power BMW engines and in fact that’s what made me start this Channel in first place. I’ve done the rod bearings on my v10 M5 in 2019, along with an extensive service and the car has been running good ever since. I’m using ACL race series for rod bearings and King for main bearings - most of the engines I’ve done had relatively good main bearings but I rather spend the extra $250 and have the peace of mind the mains were done as well unless the car has less than 60-80k kms
@@dnl35projects Thank you for the reply. I appreaciate your dedication to the S63 and overall all performance M engines. It would've been great if only we had more experienced people and enthusiasts like yourself to get the job done and for the customer to enjoy his fresh S63.
They said this is your last video which is 2 months ago. I want to see a video with the f90 and see do the high performance coolant box work better than the standard I'm not talking about the Cooling reservoir but the two boxes in the front. I looked up how much a f90 motor cost they said between 50k to 70k is that true? The Dodge Demon motor cost 31,000. 02-25-24
Hi there, yes the motor is really expensive. Even if drop 20k on building a motor, expect to drop another 20k reparing or replacing the motor. No matter how bulletproof a motor is it will fail when making high power
Well, it’s all a matter of how much power. If built correctly with quality parts the s63 can produce 700HP day and night with no issues. I’m currently building an S64TU4 with aims at reliable 1000HP as a daily - Stay tuned
I cannot say much as this engine is still being rebuilt however there are a few details which were not as I expected and Kingtec is working on a solution.
It depends on the application/engine you’re building - For big HP should be fine however If you require small end gaps to build street cars then you might require different rings. Kingtec is working on a solution at the moment.
