I watched a couple AMC Pacers race in the Camel GT at Laguna Seca. They actually did fairly well along with the Gremlins and Hornets. In their class, stock rim widths were required and AMC had the widest wheels at 15 x7 and had the fattest tires by far. That along with a strong six cylinder engine made for a competitive car.
There's a version of this car in the video game Grand Theft Auto 5. It goes like crazy and handles pretty well too. I remember these cars from back in the day. A friend's parents owned one. Someone I know once said they "look like a pregnant roller skate", and someone else called them a "Glassmobile" because of the huge windows. Either way, they're iconic, and there were quite a few of them around back in the days they were made.
Nice car, and a nice job getting it around the track ! I'll tell ya, I've seen these cars with the 3 back windows in dark tint. They looked pretty cool 😊
@@jeffreybrianring6392 Sounds like a souped-up exhaust on it though. I don't remember these cars having that much rumble back in the day, especially with the 6-cylinder. I probably never even saw a V8 model, I don't know for sure.
What a beautiful car?
It must design by a beautiful engineer..
I never knew the great sound quality my phone had until I watched this video!
garth would be proud!
LOL, I was about to say "Damn, the Mirth Mobile's got some serious kick!"

They were fairly fast or no?

Got to be a rare 304 V8 model.
U can plainly hear it's a 6 cylinder.
@jeffreybrian Ring could be...but I disagree. 👍
It's a six. The V8 wasn't available until 1978 because it didn't fit and they had to redesign the hood.

@@DashcamRiprockthat's why there's not nose in the hood.
