- Eleanor is an orphaned chacma baboon rescued by C.A.R.E. (www.primatecare.org). Her mother was killed by a car and she suffered life-threatening injuries as a result; head injury, a cracked skull, abrasions and bruising all over her tiny body.... follow her story. After a few days, (see updated video) Eleanor is now thriving). We didn't know when she was this young how the injuries would affect her, but gave her a chance and now she is functioning completely normally and lives with a new baboon family; she has even reached sexual maturity and doing really well.

That’s amazing that u saved her, when I watched the video and seen how bad off she was, I thought poor lil one is not going to make it. U must be really good at what u do. Great job taken care of her. I will try to help with donation. God bless u all.

I worked as a vet assistant which we also had a program to offer medical treatment and procedures to former greyhounds that were used for racing. I can tell u full heartedly I did not do it for my own ego nor did any of my co workers. It's just an assumption u have not the actual truth.

She's never going to get to drink that milk because they're not holding the bottle up so the milk will come out. If she's really being cared for by a vet they should know that.

Your message is unnecessary. This video was taken almost 5 years ago and since then, Eleanor survived, was adopted by a baboon surrogate mother and has ever since lived in a baboon troop. Still thriving today. I hope if you ever find yourself in a life-threatening condition, that someone will be kind enough to help you; give you pain medications and enable you to pull through if you have the desire to fight for your life. Eleanor is well, she didn't give up and so neither did we. There is a time and a place for euthanasia, and this was not the time for Eleanor; she had temporary brain trauma and with expert veterinary care and TLC she came through.

@@primatecare Too much resources were wasted on a creature that has become problematic. You threw every kind of help at her, WHO paid the bill? Vets take ADVANTAGE of the fact that our pets mean so much to us and charge OUTRAGEOUS prices for care! A person with a fixed income shouldn't HAVE to put their beloved companion to sleep because they CANNOT afford the price of care! But you'll do all this for this thing? I've SEEN what damage they cause in S. Africa. Ranchers are constantly dealing with the theft and destruction of their orchards, crops and livestock's food and killing of young or small animals including their pets. Small children cannot walk around in their own property, for fear of attack! Finally, the decline of native songbirds have been linked to these things! Like macaques, baboons enjoy TORTURING an animal it deems lower than itself! Males are recorded killing infants, for the opportunity to impregnate the mother with it's offspring. NOT EVERY animal should be saved if it means gouging the next pet owner, just to recoup the cost of resources used on these things! I guess that's why you put so much effort into it? The GREEDY behavior of these primates reminds you of yourselves!?! At least, THAT explanation makes sense! Too bad your 'charitable' works had to be done for all those ego affirming 'likes' from others. TRULY charitable people, don't need the exposure. They KNOW that the One that should see it, DOES. That's enough glory for them. Let's leave the next one to Nature, shall we? Maybe give the next pet parent a break? NOW, THAT, would demonstrate a BEAUTIFUL HEART! Take care!

Especially when they are desperate to help their babies. They purposely overcharge, knowing we'll pay anything to make sure they come home. It's horrible and must stop. Throwing every resource at something that does nothing but destroy everything around them is absolute nonsense.
These brain damaged haters have some serious issues that have never been addressed. I hope none of you have pets or children... Don't even try to claim how much you love animals and how gentle you are. We all know that a lie. No one can think this way and not be dangerous to any vulnerable living being

I gave my 2 week old puppy lortabs and Lyrica lortabs tablets for pain and Lyrica capsules for the seizures they actually helped the veterinarian wanted to put him to sleep I told veterinarian Dr Sigman said that TinyTwo would never make it through the night I said yes he he's going I can tell when people are going to die even if it's a exdent he just looked at me carzy but it's all good Tiny's gone now he was blind and
he got the house late some kind of way always watch them close but I slipped up I never made it back home we never found him dead he was partially blind in his right eye and he had seizures hopefully someone found him smart enough to know what was going on with his life physically and he's not dead because I love him so I would rather never see him again and him be safe he was the smartest little and if he died he died doing what he always wanted to do and that was to take off and run and walk about all by himself therefore if he passed away he passed away happy

Holy what?! Katkat that's so crazy! Lortab is a strong opioid cut with around 350mg of acetaminophen & Lyrica is a strong tab used for nerve damage/ restless leg syndrome! You are so SO lucky your dog didn't die!!! You should not be allowed to have any pet! Maybe Chia chia pet plant!!

Try Cbd for seizures. It works amazingly well for human children. A little girl was having over 50 seizures a day and they started using Cbd . She’s down to 10 . Big difference. Idk how she is now bc this was 10 years ago

bruising to the brain isn't brain damage, once the bruising subsides, so too will the seizures - if the seizures were to continue, then the outcome would be different, the fact that it now 4 months on should say a lot
