Both Vlad and Bo are not getting traded at the deadline 99.9% imo
They should be. The money they are going to want will purchase half a dozen young players.
@@jeffspicolli593 they will cost more because they will be better.. that’s how it works. We need to stop giving away our good players.
They won’t be
@@jeffspicolli593Vlad and Bo are young players lmao
@@sir.muffiniii7011 It doesn't matter how old "they" are my comment stands.
If hiring Shipiro and Atkins was intended to ruin the Blue Jays, it’s worked. Several bad trade broke their spirit. They have lost their joie de vive.
Please tell me a trade Ross has lost.?
Why does anyone care about a reporter's idea of a trade? I'd be more interested in the people that actually make these decisions.
Bo doesn’t look like he wants to be here anymore so I expect him to be moved at the trade deadline.
No, id be ticked if they trade vladdy and jansen
These trade rumours are beyond realistic; trading Vlad for a prospect lacks common sense, as the vast majority of them never amount to anything, and given the horrible track record of Atkins...this would be a huge mistake, he has created an imbalance that we are still reeling from. Trade apple to apples not apples to oranges.
Trade Loss Shatkins
You might get a bag of used balls in return which is a steal because you maintain contract control over the bag of balls.
Exactly, and Vlad is the same age as 99% of top prospects
Also, Jansen instead of Kirk? Kirk doesn't even take his job seriously enough to get into shape.
As much as I love Danny, he's a free agent after this year and very injury-prone.
as long as you really watch the Jays game. you should know Jano is FA after this season.
@@adrianau6679 We could always sign him back.
@@martinrev8487agreed even as a back up and trade Kirk the day they traded Gabriel Mariano and decided to not trade Kirk when his stock was his highest was the start of the down fall of this team yes Varsho is versatile but trading a kid that has hit at ever level he has played at and has been clocked with a 90 mph throw to any base that can catch everyday was absolutely nonsense
@@519fishing3 I don't disagree, but now we gotta find the best way out of this mess.
I'm good with bold if it is full bold, no half measures here.
No !!!!!!
He needs to be a Jay for a life ( vladdy )
I have a problem with Bassitt being on that list
Never Heard Of Any Of The Players That The Jays Would Get
Trading Vlad makes more sense because his value is quite high right now IF the plan isn't to resign both Vlad and Bo. Bo won't fetch as much as reporters think because GMs will try to get him cheap on a down year, and Vlad will have a big sellers' market as teams are starved for offense.
If the plan is to resign both, then the corresponding actions should be to trade off the rental pieces for whatever we can get.
Trading both only makes sense in the context of a full rebuild with a new GM. If we do this, we're saying that Atkins failed to develop a championship-calibre team (which he has), so why would he be the guy to make the trades to kickstart the "retool/rebuild" into the next generation? There needs to be a whole different direction.
The big problem with this conversation is that it's taking place midseason. The best time to have it is just after the season ends so that the pieces required to make it work (i.e. new management) is in place with something resembling a plan before the offseason makeover. Doing it now with the crappy management in place just means it's guaranteed to get screwed up.
I agree with your opinion on the management team but thankfully you are not up for the job if they removed them. If Vlad was 27 or over age wise then yes the trade would be smart to make. However he just turned 25 so only a fool would trade Vlad before he even hits his peak years as a professional. Trading Vlad would come back to haunt the Jays. The only way he should be traded is if the team thinks he won’t resign. Now Bo is questionable. If he won’t resign I think you have to consider him in trade during the off season and try to get as much as you can unless a offer comes in before the trade deadline. SS is a premium position in baseball so while he is having a down year for his capabilities teams are gonna pay to get him.
Vlad is 25, he’s a great young player, that’s guaranteed, prospects arent
I'd love to see Peter and Nick do a video why Bo thinks its ok that he chooses to dog F the team and what makes him think he is so important that he should be allowed to do that,.
This makes me very angry. I will not be watching baseball if any of this goes through. I’m pissed right off. And to think I flew to Toronto from BC just to watch my JAYS. I think I should just hang up my ball hat, jersey, and anything else I own in regards to the blues and stop watching😢
According to the mlb site, Vladdy has an ops of .848...not over 1.000
Yep, but these guys love Vladdy, so they view him through rose coloured glasses.
@@user-oo2op4pg3ihe’s still elite
If a massive sell off (all the Jays mentioned in the trade) sped the rebuild up (multiple top their prospects who are close) then I could get behind this. We already got a few good kids on the team (buffalo boys) and this would free up money for top FAs if the right guy is available.
Use some of the savings for some decent place holder FAs next winter (2 year deal types) and let these kid play at the majors (no service time shenanigans) and I would show up to cheer for that.
It’s pronounced Ha-V-air, he is Dominican and you would be so lucky to have him. He blanked the Yankees twice
Not a fan of trading your entire team away when you're a big market like Toronto. Get that there's a budget, but you've got a bunch of vets on expiring deals that aren't likely to come back. Get whatever you can for those guys, ideally a cost controlled guy who can give us any positive WAR next year but don't trade away everyone. Trading away 1 of Vlad, Jansen or Bo to try to get another one of those cost controlled piece that can contribute in the future because retaining all 3 leaves you too thin elsewhere? Sure. Trading all 3? No. Re-sign the other 2, fire Atkins and Shapiro and have a better team builder try to add complimentary pieces to the existing ones. I'm not opposed to that 1 being Vlad though. Bo will bounce back and we'd be selling low instead of high if we traded Bo right now. I say sell high on Vlad, re-sign Bo (hopefully at a deal that's a little more team friendly than if we did the same in the off-season), re-sign Jansen and take another bite at the apple in free agency next year.
This team wasn't that far off from being good, but it needed all of the core pieces to perform and/or improve. They didn't. They needed to build the off-season around giving us insurance in the event the core didn't perform up to snuff. Plus bats and relievers. That's not what happened. They built this year's team working under the assumption everyone would revert back to their pre 2023 selves. If they did with the additions made they'd be one of the best teams in baseball, but they left no safety net.
Pena ya has yo be a part of that any package of BO or Vladdy with Huston plug and play right where Bo was not just a meddle of the road pitcher
The entire guts of the Toronto Blue Jays leaving Toronto with Buffalo Bison call-ups and prospects. Picking the bones of Toronto being used like some minor league team. No respect, no thanks.
Nick they have to trade the expiring contracts to get something in return !
Then they can make the effort to resign if they want them back , why would you throw away value for nothing .
This season is over
I love the phrase "I don't they will do this or they wont do this" we are all talking about Atkins and Shapiro here they can and they will. Some of the worst gms when it comes to trades
Vlad is the franchise!
That’s a let’s throw shit at the wall and see if it sticks kind of article. It makes absolutely no sense. All those rumours about trading Vladdy are coming from outside Toronto.
i'm kinda new to prospects trading but it seems like we should get way more, like their top 7 player's or more even . basically clean out their prospects, they'd be cleaning us out of mlb ready player's vlad and bassett they have next year to. i don't know, i just think if we trade everybody we should get everybody. like i said i'm new to trading, all i've seen was 1 or 2 great mld player for another 1 or 2 mlb great player's
One thing for sure you DO NOT trade Bo or Vlad for priks that you never heard of before!
Vlad and Bo are not getting traded. That's not how the Jays do things. Ownership doesn't like to go far from .500.
Think for a second Cleveland. Why would they do that?
to many hitter's under the mendoza line, that's unacceptable. kirk, varsho, kk soon to be davis schneider
the optics of trading away Vlad to the casual baseball viewer would be suicide for the jays
Is just a bad idea in general
It all depends on what they get, would these be blue chip ready major league to start immediately??
Don't like doing a full tear down as a big market like Toronto. Get that there's a budget, but it's a pretty big one. The farm is looking pretty thin right now. I'd definitely be willing to trade 1 of Vlad or Bo to try to get a cost controlled piece that can contribute positive WAR next year but if you do both you've got no position player to build around whatsoever. Then there's the bunch of guys that are veterans who are expiring and aren't likely to be back next year. All for trading those guys away for whatever you can get, whether it's near MLB ready guys or otherwise.
I'd personally be looking to trade Vlad before Bo. Bo's value is lower now than it was pre-season and I don't think that's likely to stay the same. Vlad on the other hand is the opposite. His hitters profile is kind of erratic and I don't think that's a good recipe for sustainability. Think he'll be an up and down guy his whole career. Still a good player though. Get a good return for whoever you trade, re-sign the other, re-sign Jansen and take another bite at the apple next year by signing some complimentary pieces in free agency. Oh and fire the front office. They failed catastrophically at using free agency money (that we as a big market are lucky to have) to turn this team into a winner and I don't even think that's a hindsight's 20/20 thing.
How is vladdys player profile erratic? He hits for power, hits for average, hits to all parts of the field and has a good eye, that’s very sustainable
@@sir.muffiniii7011 This season. He has a different profile every season. That's why it's erratic.
@@Mrmoustache6 not rlly, it’s just the results that differ, he always hits the ball hard, doesn’t strike out a lot and walks pretty well
Letting Ross trade vlad is the ultimate spit in the face to the fans.
If the Jays were to trade Vlad, Bichette, Bassit and half our team, why would we want Javier back? It would signal an entire rebuild so prospects would make more sense.
I endorse trading all those players
Who is actually saying this trade would/could happen? Or is it some guy in the media musing based on nothing. Interesting to talk about but doubt something this will actually happen in whole or in part. Love your show Nick.
Astros fan here. No way. That’s a crazy ask. Astros don’t need another CF we have like 4. Javier has at least 4 more years under contract and at a good price. Our farm system is really weak and this pretty much empties us out for 1.5 years of contention.
Astros would be fools to take this trade
Trading Vlad would make this the official end of an era. I remember when he was fast-tracked through AA while the Jays were dogshit. We had high hopes for him and now here we are: directionless in the middle of the ocean.
I'd trade around Vlad, like Bo and maybe Kevin K.
Don't trade Guerrero but anyone else can go..lol 😎🇨🇦
If we traded Vlad we relocate under a new name and all
Who trades away talent like that at age 24,25, 🤡🤡
Talkin’ just to talk
Can we trade Shapiro and Atkins for a bucket of balls and a beef Shawarma?
100% yes to this trade!!! Anyone who disagrees, please come back here in the 2025 offseason and repent.
No No No, do not trade Vladdie!!
you think Bassit is going to houston after he ratted them out for cheating, yeah i see this trade working out
Vladdy is going no where, however, Bo might be.
Vlad not getting traded and nobody wants bo we should have moved him last year
No
Jays won't blow it up. They will double down in 2025. 50 million is coming off the books. They will need A staring catcher, a pitcher and a DH. As far as getting prospects there's 2 drafts between now and the end of 2025.
Poor management, poor hiring coach, poor trade, poor scouting, and poor in everything
It’s pronounced Ha-V-Air…not Hav-e_eh..what a Canadian pronunciation .haha
Awful. Who would care about Javier being on the Jays when they’d be the worst team in MLB. The fan base would revolt and the Rogers Centre would be empty. If you’re going to blow it up like that you’d at least need to get a legit top prospect like a Jackson Holliday or Wyatt Langford in return to start.
Vladdy needs to stay.... Bo should GO!
Be another 30 years before a playoff berth 💩
They should trade Ross Atkins for a wad of chewing tobacco.
Wonder where he is going tomorrow!!
I love it. Do it. Won’t miss Vladdy or Bo. Losing Bassitt and Kikuchi would suck, but I wouldn’t want them to waste their careers playing on a rebuilding team. Come to think of it, they’re already being wasted right now on this current team.
Why won’t you miss vladdy? He’s been our best player this year
haaa haaaaaaaaa watta joke
lol. Oh man looks like my assessment of Yankees taking the div is accurate.
Anyhow. I don’t really care what Rogers does with this org. They’re only concerned with profits/margins and do not give a fuck about winning. If they can have a rays payroll and a top 10 profit margin you better believe that’s what they’ll do.
I’m done with this franchise this season and unless they pony up $$ to sign/extend key players… the org will go into a rebuild for years.
This is the AL east… I don’t think many toronto blue jay fans really understand just what that means; we’re in a division where ppl have family names attached to the org and will always try to win otherwise they’ll bring shame on their namesake… oh and while they have their own budget and limitations… they have deep pockets… maybe not as deep as rogers but again… they will outspend anyone else for players they regard as Top Talent.
get rid of Guerrero jr while his value is UP before he starts going into decline
Dude, he’s 25, not 35, his decline is very far away, he’s one of the youngest guys on the team
Who gives a.......
Stop talking trade until atkins and Shapiro are fired. Vlady and no can go if we get a haul. They both losers. Vlad great on paper but dude is not clutch…he’s an analyst dream, but watch with your eyes…zero performance under pressure.
More than anything, look at the stadium….fans still showing up big to watch this garbage team…and the ring leaders for this team? Bo and Vlady…typical Toronto hypebeast no substance…so they stay to keep fans interested
Dude Vlad has been the most clutch player this year for the jays
@@sir.muffiniii7011you clearly have not been watching. Vlads a paper tiger. He scores runs when game is out of hand or early in the game. But when it’s crunch time vlad overtires and swings at garbage. He’s not a generational or clutch player. He’s a very good piece to a club but not a guy you rely on when the game is tight or you need a hit for a win.
@@SChoi380 no I have been watching I watch almost every game, and I know that especially as of recent, Vlad has been our offence
lol....whomever is the author of this is the go to guy for drugs.
