Wikipedia is as accurate as the Encyclopedia Britannica according to several studies. This reputation stems from the very beginnings of Wiki and just isn't accurate anymore. Wiki is very reliable and these guys should know that.

I think there are a lot of streamers who are either unfair towards Destiny and his community, or even tell outright lies. The problem is that Destiny can be a very intense person, and sometimes he says wild things, either on stream or on twitter, which makes him vulnerable to exactly the kind of things people are saying about him and it becomes too easy to believe for anyone who has never consumed his content directly.
I think someone told him this before, and he responded with something along the lines of "well they're gonna attack me in bad faith no matter what I do, so I might as well keep saying wild stuff on twitter."
