It's also extremely aggravating to have the people who benefit from capitalism the most performatively advocate for a different system that would make us all poorer and more miserable and would disproportionately effect people who don't have 3 million dollar houses.
A bit like how liberalism allows illiberal larpers to complain about the evils of liberalism while reaping the benefits it offers
Same as how in a western liberal society you can make a living off saying that you are not allowed to say what you are saying.

I want hasan to actually get into the nitty gritty of what he's talking about. All he ever does is say "we need autonomy of labor" " we need worker power" etc like he's parroting something he heard. I want him to get into the details on what that looks and explain to me the infrastructure and the systems that are needed for this to work.
Can you imagine over 10,000 workers for a giant cooperation suddenly getting the right to have a say on how the company should work, the direction it should take? One that could cause massive infighting, Two it could take years to make a decision on something. Too many chiefs and not enough indians could be chaotic but maybe theres something I am missing and most socialists dont get into the details.
Ethan tried this with hasan in regard to policy/infrastructure and when Ethan would ask ONE follow up challenging him, hasan was just like "umm well we should try our very best". He had absolutely nothing.
Yeah watch the socialism debate with Ethan on Leftovers. Ethan destroys him
This isnt a hasan thing. its a socialism thing. Socialists will never give actual policy positions. They will denounce anything real or concrete and say its not "real" socialism. Socialists only stick to vague ideals and talking points. They will never admit their idealogy which has been tried in various forms for over 100 years is a failure. you point to the soviets and its not real socialism, khmer rouge not real socialism, north korea not real socialism, venezuela not real socialism, cuba, china, etc etc etc. Socialism can never be defined because once it is people can spot the horror and problems with it.
It’s such a ridiculous idea for all workers to have an equal say/stake in the company to make decisions. Anyone who spouts this nonsense has NEVER managed companies on an operations level. Imagine the Housekeeper making decisions on renovations for a hotel or any major decision that has fuck-all to do with housekeeping. It’s like the people who say “anyone could be a CEO” no, not everyone can be a CEO and most people have NO CLUE any part of running a business or making business decisions. They love to talk about how dumb most Americans are, now imagine all of those people having major stakes in companies. As a theory, socialism sounds so hunky-dory, but there is no way to actually execute it without revealing how ridiculous it is.
If you are genuinely interested, and I hope you are, look at Michael Albert's work. In fact, now I think of it, he even spoke to Destiny about this subject and got into a decent level of detail for a short YT video.
It's easy to disregard ideas that challenge the current homeostasis, especially if you're doing well under said homeostasis, but you must realize that the same reactionary arguments have been made to practically every new idea ever conceived. Slavery was thought to be the only way by slave owners. Jim Crow's laws were considered practical until they weren't. Monarchies were the only conceivable form of governance until violent revolutions made way for republics, etc. etc. etc.
Try to be open minded and actually read the work of people like Michael Albert, Yanis Varoufakis, Richard Wolff, Mark Blythe, David Harvey, et. al. The more you read, the less you'll be able to casually cast aside the ideas. Remember that Piker is, first and foremost, a figure of social media. The technical work, or "nitty gritty" as you state, is done by the sort of people I reference above. They are the people we should learn from, not Hasan Piker or even worse clowns like Destiny.
By not investing, you're invested in cash. In USD. Your checking account funds the bank's loans.
Not necessarily, many loans like mortgages are new money, the banks create new money. It’s not a giant bank account that they give you abit of. Building societies in uk lend money that way, but the major banks have systems were it’s literally new money created into the system.

In a socialist society, there is no opting out. Historically, they don't even give you the option to leave. It's either socialism or the gulag.
There is no convincing me that the less tolerant system is better.
Yeah the Amish are basically communists
That's not even accurate to history though. As authoritarian as the government of the USSR was, the government only controlled the heavy industry sector. Light industry was still under private sector, and there were plenty of private business going on in the USSR.
The reason why the heavy industry came under central planning is easy to understand and i can't fathom someone disagreeing with the decision either. Also, if they didn't, i'd be willing to bet that WW2 would look VERY different.

This is unironically the WORST thing you can do as a rich person to the proliferate. Hoarding wealth doesn’t help literally anyone’s the economy relies on money being spent which is why economic stimulus given to the middle class is worth more than any corporate or 1%er tax break.
Bank reserves that they lend have nothing to do with where the money sits. It's literally just a % of their total holdings that they're allowed to lend out.

47:20 - there is no limitation to how much money you can gift someone, but there is a limitation to how much money you can take as an exclusion before having to pay gift taxes. So, Destiny will need to pay gift taxes for giving his parents money, in excess of $18k per parent in 2024.
Buying a nice house to live in is not capital investment because it's not capital, that's just consumerism (and consumerism is completely antithetical to capitalism because what you consume is not capital, you're just poofing your potential capital away).
The house you live in is not an investment for all the reasons Destiny has already stated in the past (mostly you'll basically never treat it as an investment when it comes to liquidating it)

@@andrewk2886 A house can be an investment. The house you live in isn't because you're never gonna let yourself go homeless in order to realize the capital gains.
Consumerism is antithetical to capitalism because if you're spending money on consumables/experiences then you're not accruing capital.
A $5000 jacket is $5000 worth of potential capital that you wasted. A true capitalist will never buy that jacket (unless they believe the jacket will somehow help them make more than 5k) and instead always convert the $5000 into capital.

Smh it sounds like because he’s never had like real life poor person financial insecurity he still hasn’t hired as financial advisors cos if he did they would have a 5 minute convo before Hassan appearance here and be coached to at least make what he’s just said here not sound like he’s literally wasting money that could be helping causes he believes in…. Mainly wasting it by letting the banks use it to make investments giving him barely anything in interest In comparison to him giving it to a business that could make crazy profit for the person & inject wealth into their local community
But he’s had nepo baby financial insecurity lol which is likely part of him probs acting like this 😅
Hasan is such an insane grifter I can’t dude
"I don't do it to make a little extra money."
Homie, your house and car. You expect people to believe that?
It’s interesting that to hasan there’s only multi million dollar houses, designer clothes and fancy jewelry, or being having no car, house, or clothes. Nothing in between. Homie can’t drive a civic and live in a normal 3 bedroom house in the suburbs? He could get a house for himself and one for his mom, nice ones too, for cheaper than his West Hollywood mansion lmao.
His fan base has to be kids and rich people, I don’t know how any working class person could listen to him and take anything he says about this shit seriously. Dude is one of the most hyper consumers of capitalism.
I think you're confused because you dont know what socialism is. Socialism doesn't mean you have to have 2 bedrooms in your living place instead of 8
The best take Destiny has ever given is "Don't ask your friends to do art for free"
Yo Destiny.
His house wouldn't be capital accumulation because we all know he is going to sell his house for exactly what he bought it for. He would never profit through the means of hording land for himself.
Based on Hassan’s personality and MO he’s clearly lying by omission with what he does with his money.
My guess is he’s hiding how much he spends on hedonistic seeking activities.
Basam is a pleasure pursuing person not a challenge myself with difficult things, person.
I don't care what Hasan does with his money. He is clearly lying here though. Why does he lie? To avoid getting his grift exposed.
Hamasanabi is probably a die hard Trump supporter off camera. He’s fake af LOLLLL 😂😂😂😂😂
any idea on what song destiny used for this intro?
No way streaming is as soul sucking as sales
I feel like destiny is spewing into the ether. Until he can publicly debate hasan and break this stupid ideas down, I will always be bored of this. It seems like a waste of time. We gotta find a way to get them together to put an official end to hasan or at least expose his bullshit
You personally may be bored of this, but bottom line his larger audience loves when he shit talks Hasan.
It's not about fixing Hassan, it's about exposing his nonsense to the public.
Lol how would destiny eat I dont want him to starve
@@delorne2776 well I’m not BORED of it, as much as I wish it could be something that reaches everyone. Like destiny viewers know hasan is a moron, but more people I know know about hasan than they do destiny. Hasan has better outreach, but destiny has better ideas. Destiny needs to work on being more constructive in convos, and he needs to get on a show that reaches all with Hasan and expose the ideas in front of EVERYONE
@@Lilliathi Yes I agree. No one is saying fix Hasan. I just wish the pushback destiny gives could be something more concrete. It feels like we’re watching a rightfully angry dude trying to scream to people who will already listen to him. Meanwhile Hasan is basically unregulated giving his nonsense to a broader audience. I want THAT audience to hear destiny out
TLDW: Destiny gets triggered and spurgs about Hasan for over an hour and complains the hosts aren't doing the same
Just say TLDR
Destiny: NOOOOO NEVER ASK YOUR FRIENDS FOR FREE LABOUR!! meanwhile he asks personal trainers for gym advice smh
Why did he call himself a socialist?? He’s not, he doesn’t live his life that way, doesn’t actually stand by what actual socialism is. He’s not a socialist!!! He doesn’t know what one is.
Thanks August
I ain’t ever taking a man who ate waffles with Nick Fuentes seriously.
We may not have learned anything about socialism from listening to Hasan here, but maybe he can explain how Destiny is actually a woman's name.
_McCarthy's trials?_ This kills my soul.
There were _hearings._ Hearings in the HUAC -- the _House_ Un-American Activities Committee. Hearings not conducted by _Senator_ Jospeh McCarthy.
There are also the Army-McCarthy hearings, but McCarthy didn't conduct those hearings, either, because he was a _target_ of them.
Thank you for the commentary Mr. Ravioli.
He totally wrecked this lasagna dude's ideology.
Saying that you're a socialist because you want businesses to treat their employees better is like saying you're a nazi because you want public transportation to be on time and efficient.
One of the things I consistently agree with Destiny on is almost any Hasan take in general. His uncle has indoctrinated him deeply and I would know because I'm a former State Director of the Wolf-PAC ky arm which is Cenk's Super PAC. We routinely had conference calls on how to attract Republican support because we were all (many still are) indoctrinated in a far far left mindset and no one even realized that we were having those meetings because we were unconsciously oozing extreme leftist vibes in the way we spoke, started conversations, reacted to push-back, statistical talking points that read as leftist outcries so we had to learn how to formulate them as pro-right talking points and many just had no luck because it never came off as genuine because it wasn't. We were fighting to get money out of politics which I still support but all anyone has to do is look up Wolf-PAC and you see Cenk and then Hasan by extension and you will never get anywhere. I wrote a paper once about propaganda and it still took me that long to connect the dots. Hasan has a deep seeded issue of -there is no common ground for some issues and that is tyrannical by definition. When you refuse to accept differing opinions even if it benefits and advances you're end goals then you are indoctrinated.
I am a capitalist but I believe in social programs being needed. Things like veteran benefits, foodstamps, and homeless programs to name a few. Basically what we have now.
The emperor of Germany in the 1880s already saw the necessity of those. And I am pretty sure he was vehemently anti socialist. Some dipshits like to argue that acknowledging these necessities makes you tangentialy socialist. It really doesnt, at least not any more than it makes you a loyalist or monarchist.
What is that background music in the intro?
Those who tell you how to live tend to be emperors without clothes.
Mr. Bernelli's lack of understanding is ruining Hasan's glow
He just doesn’t understand that you can be a socialist and still live a capitalist life smh
What is the name of the song in the intro?
No shot this millionaire's 401k account doesn't include Amazon stocks lmao
Very interesting that hasan said "I spend money on my family and friends" but he never said anything about his editors
What does Mr. Borrelli know about being social anyway?! He just read a Wikipedia page on it!
